A tatte in Arlington! So happy about this. I love tatte and although, before this location, the nearest one was under 20 mins away, if i didn't go, it was because of the commute or because of the parking situation. This location is practically walking distance and they have plenty of parking in the back. I actually discovered this tatte on accident when i was getting some pizza one night and noticed that a tatte opened in Arlington and i knew i had to try it. This location is spacious and has many tables. I loved seeing different groups of people, from people working, to students, to people just casually enjoying some food together. You can do it all at Tatte. Before a flight, i stopped to have a quick breakfast and because it was a little rushed, we weren't able to order anything off the menu and ended up getting pastries and some drinks. It was pretty full but we were able to snag a table and wait for the drinks. The food, even after being heated up, was still pretty cold but tasted good. The upside down orange cake was phenomenal. It was my favorite by far, along with the pistachio croissant. I ordered an iced matcha latte with almond milk and it was delicious. Honestly, i do think the staff could be nicer and more welcoming. But overall, the food and drinks were good and i'm excited to give this tatte another visit, maybe try some menu items and desserts.

We went to the new Tatte in Arlington and it was great because we could easily find a seat and relax compared to the busier locations: Boston, Cambridge or Charlestown locations. Unfortunately, the two times I've been there, an item I wanted off the menu was sold out. Luckily, there are plenty more items to try if something is sold out. What we ordered: - Lamb Shakshuka: I would highly recommend this! It was one of the best shashuka's I've had. It was very filling and I thought that I would've preferred a more crispy rough bread like a ciabatta but the challah was perfect. - Breakfast Sandwich: solid sandwich, great house-made sourdough bread. Would be nice if they offered another condiment other than basic hot sauce - Croissant Breakfast Sandwich: solid sandwich with a sweeter flavor profile - Sweet French Toast: The jam, strawberries and almond all mix perfectly together. I was surprised to find that the tops of the strawberries were not cut off. That felt like a mistake. - Honey Turmeric Latte: tasted like a honey turmeric tea but with a hint of coffee. It was tasty but I was hoping for a bit more coffee flavor. - Pistachio Latte: fantastic and sweet with bits of pistachios in it - Black Sesame Latte: fantastic and sweet, the sesame doesn't overpower the drink

I love the Tatte Arlington Center location! It's much quieter than other locations and I always am able to get a table. My favorite is the Pistachio Latte, tastes delicious and has the crunchy pistachio bits on the bottom. The Fattoush salad with shrimp was beautiful and filling! I love how it has cubes of feta cheese and the dressing is so light and yummy! Service is always friendly and the cafe is so pretty!

Tatte is such a gem! Monday was my first time at this new Arlington location, and it was very busy for a late morning. The interior was spacious and well lit, with plenty of patrons working on their laptops. I was so excited to try everything, I ordered two beverages - the Sparkling Matcha Lemonade and the Iced Pistachio Latte. For food, I got the Lamb Meat Ball Shakshuka and my sister chose the Halloumi Sunny-Side Breakfast Sandwich. And we also got the Cherry Pistachio Tart to share! We got our tart right away and snagged a table to sit at, and the rest of the food/drinks were brought out to us. Both the Sparkling Matcha Lemonade and the Iced Pistachio Latte were fantastic. The lemonade was refreshing, with a strong matcha flavor. The latte also had a very strong pistachio flavor, but I wish I had gotten it with an extra shot of espresso. All the food was incredible as well - we were obsessed with the Cherry Pistachio Tart and I'm craving another one as I write this. The Lamb Meat Ball Shakshuka was massive and came with delicious challah bread. I shockingly couldn't finish it all, but it was very filling. The Halloumi Sunny-Side Breakfast Sandwich was perfect and is usually my go-to - highly recommend! Overall, a wonderful meal - can't wait to return next time I'm in the Boston area!

Strawberry, Roasted Peach, & Chicken Salad

Service 2.5/5 The service here was fine. Nothing really notable. Ordering is at the front and they brought the food to the table. Besides that there was no other interaction with staff. Ambiance 3/5 This place was pretty big. There was plenty of seating with booths, chairs, and bar seating as well. The cashier counter, coffee bar and kitchen were all together so there was a lively atmosphere but it was decently loud as well. There was plenty of lighting and the front wall was mostly windows so there was also a lot of natural lighting. Strawberry, Roasted Peach, & Chicken Salad 3.5/5 ($14.85) The salad was well put together. The chicken went well with the goat cheese. The strawberries and peaches tasted very fresh. The cashews have the salad a nice crunchy texture. The balsamic gave the spinach and lettuce a nice sweet and tangy flavor. The roll was fine. Overall the salad was fine but the portion was pretty small and it was more expensive than it should have been.

Tatte is here in Arlington! IYKYK This local bakery and cafe chain is a more upscale Starbucks or Dunkin. Prices are reflected accordingly with the experience and vibe. Pastries are solid but not like the best but nice to try if you haven't had Tatte before. There might be a new favorite. Service was friendly and quick but the check out could be a little wait if there's a line.

We have Tatte in Arlington! I am super happy that Tatte has opened in Arlington. It's nice to have a space in Arlington where folks can gather and have reliably good food. When Tatte was in Harvard Square, I always ordered the same thing because I knew I wasn't going to get there very often, now I've been working my way through various menu items. We definitely spent a lot in those early weeks. Standouts are the Shashuka (great value, I usually get 2-3 meals out of one order), the farro dinner (it was a fall special) and a surprising favorite of mine is their egg in a hole. It's in a Jerusalem bagel (which is more like a soft, delicious pretzel shaped bagel coated in sesame seeds), and the eggs are soft cooked (or made to your specifications) inside. The cucumber relish on top and the cilantro make it a meal. You can order it with ham to up the protein content and in this case (pictured), I added bacon because...bacon. Try all the shashuka meals - they are all a bit different but the one with the lamb meatballs is my favorite! Love the special ones - gives me a reason to come back and try a new one. Bring a friend, it feeds the soul and conversation. We've tried many of the brunch items. Other standouts include the labneh with roasted pear and granola, the refrigerator section chicken salad, the greek pancakes (but you have to be ready for something that is a bit different), and the mezze breakfast where you get a lot of dips along with a Jerusalem bagel. Some downsides is that my 12 year old isn't a superfan (likely b/c we went 15x in the first month), but I've turned her on to the breakfast sandwich with challah and we're all good. The customer service is excellent and even when they make mistakes, they will correct them quickly. They really did a nice job training an all new staff in a new location. I don't go at busy times so I don't have the struggles that others have noted going at peak times on weekends. Weekday evenings are the best for dinner, and on weekends, that weird pocket of time mid-day between 2-5 is a nice sweet spot.

Farro bowl and haloumi egg sandwich

Having lunch with wife at the new Arlington Tatte. They are still working out the kinks, but service and food are much better now. Layout and ambiance is very good - less crowded layout as others have mentioned. Can get a bit noisy depending on customers. Food wise, would say that I / we prefer the savory options over their sweets. Our "go tos" currently are the farro bowl and haloumi egg sandwich. A solid 3-4 stars.

I only say this because it was raining and would have made us drier and more comfortable at the bar. Staff were welcoming and attentive, we got our food and drink quickly. The kale brussels sprouts caesar was delicious, and we enjoyed our drinks- however he expected his to be a bit sweeter and I expected mine to be a bit saltier. These are personal preferences but I asked for some olives since my cocktail leaned red pepper more than the briney drink I anticipated.

I took my wife and two kids to Tryst today for Mother's Day brunch. More than a week ago, I…read morereserved a table for 10:15 am; on Tryst's website, when you reserve a table, you're given a choice of "High tops," "low tables," and "outdoor." I reserved a "low table" due to the fact that I have two young children (I've included a screenshot of my reservation). When we arrived, we were promptly seated - at a high top table. I advised the hostess that we had reserved a low table; she indicated she could change our table, but that we would have to wait. This despite the fact that the restaurant was 90% empty. Fine. We stayed at the high top table - which, in addition to being elevated, had the disadvantage of being very small. Not a great fit, in short, for young kids. After a surprisingly long time, we finally ordered. Tryst was offering a 2-course prix fixe Mother's Day brunch menu; my wife and I ordered from this menu, while the kids ordered from the children's menu. We asked the waiter if my daughter could have a fruit bowl; he said 'sure, would strawberries and blueberries be ok.' Yes, indeed they would. At 10:50, the kids' meals and my first course were brought to the table - including a small bowl of just blueberries for my daughter (not a single strawberry). Nothing for my wife - a.k.a. "mom," the honoree of today's festivities. At 10:55, I asked the waiter when my wife's food would arrive. He said it was on its way. At 11:03 - nearly 15 minutes after everyone else had been served - my wife's first course - avocado toast w/ salmon - finally arrived. At 11:04, the 2nd courses were also served. Now we're stuck on a very small high top table with all our courses (since I had refrained from eating my first course while waiting for my wife's to be served), all at once. I asked to speak to a manager. After 5-10 minutes, he came out. I noted how we had been seated at the wrong type of table, how my daughter had been offered (!) a fruit cup with blueberries and strawberries but received only the former and - most importantly - how my wife's main course was now cold before she even had a chance to start it. He apologized, had some strawberries brought out and offered to bring out a new main course for my wife. We declined. Why? Well, because our two young children had finished eating 20 minutes earlier, and certainly wouldn't have the patience to wait another who-knows-how-long for another main course to be brought out (I remind you: it's is now ~ 11:15 and we have now been at the restaurant for a full hour). My wife also had no desire to be the only one eating at the table. The manager indicated he would remedy the situation otherwise - but no other remedy was offered or received (so: no comps, no discount, nothing). To be clear: I would never have complained - never mind bothered to write a review! - if it was simply a matter of the wrong table and strawberry-less fruit cups. I mention these only because they're both examples of the same unforced error: setting an expectation that Tryst then fails to meet. I would, however, normally have given them a pass on this; after all, we all have bad days. What I can't pass over, however, is that, through sheer incompetence, my wife was effectively asked to dine alone, on Mother's Day - something anathema to the whole idea of a Mother's Day Brunch - and neither the staff nor the manager seemed to consider this a real problem. Whence this review. My wife and I have been patronizing Tryst for, I think, more than 10 years. We will not be going back.

I got inspired by watching youtube to make a jambon buerre sandwich - supposedly a popular quick sandwich for Parisians. The sandwich is half a baguette with butter and French bistro ham. I tried searching all over for the French bistro ham with no luck. The only options were online sources with expensive shipping and/or expensive minimum order sizes. Somehow I stumbled upon MA-France nearby in Arlington and they sell jambon-buerre sandwiches. It's a small shop that sells sandwiches, pastries, and a small offering of French food products. Lots of pastries and baked goods like quiche, tarts, cookies, croissants, etc. The cheese offerings were very limited and basic. I can imagine that the cheeses that they sell are the same types and brands that they use for making sandwiches. For example, they sell President brand Brie - that you can also buy at Costco and market basket. Disappointing, but understandable because they can't afford to buy more variety and more expensive offerings without a big enough client base to buy those cheeses before they go bad. Getting back to the sandwich - it was half a baguette with some thick slices of butter and two pieces of French bistro ham. The bread was kind of dense and the crust was more chewy than crispy. I was disappointed that they didn't bother to spread the butter, but if they're not selling enough sandwiches then they're probably keeping the butter in the refrigerator - making it too difficult to spread. When I got home I fixed up the sandwich to my liking. Overall, the sandwich was okay, but not good enough to make me want to go back. At least I was able to solve my hunger for the jambon buerre sandwich.

Now it's quite underwhelming. The apricot croissant is now some smaller glorified danish that has no richness or personality. The plain croissant is quite "bready" now, whereas it used to be light and buttery. I have a sneaking suspicion that they have a different croissant supplier now. What saved this spot from a lower grade is that the pain au raisin and chausson aux pommes are passable. Also a save is that they still offer various French products, from soaps to cheeses to canned goods. I have to find a new French bakery in the area.
