not the best, or great, very whitewashed. Not authentic Mexican food. The beans are canned, rosarita beans, not fresh, the rice is instant rice, disgusting and not good! The rice are beans are absolutely disgusting!! The red sauce used in my enchiladas were so disgusting, it was canned and cheap. What was good were the chips, the meat was cooked well in the enchiladas. The margaritas are premade bought from another store, not fresh. The server was nice but having a nice server and good fresh chips does not give enough in the overall quality of food for a returned visit as a customer. read more

Went here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and all the dishes were excellent at our table. My dish consisted of fajitas for two shrimp and steak. The shrimp were excellent, but there was tails on them, but we had to remove and the steak was just OK. Little chewy spots, but really good flavor. Alright, I wasn't expecting this place to be as delicious as they were. Why? Idk, they're really the only ones near by and that should mean they are good. They far exceeded my expectation. No lies. Guacamole was top with a little heat. Tacos were so tasty. Nothing was super oily either. My go to Minden Mexican cuisine now. Oh and beans and rice? Yes! Great server, who also knows every detail of the menu.. Lots of menu items and the best part is lunch price is 7 days a week! Prices are very reasonable! Chips were a mixture of corn and flour served along with salsa and cabbage slaw .. Ordered the number 8: I got the carne asada street taco with a pork tamale $8.98 Also one order of a chicken chimichanga.. Totally worth the price and food was very good.. When I go to a Mexican Restaurant I expect a good server, authentic mexican spices, fresh herbs, and to waddle out the door uncomfortably after being given a proper man's portion of food. I don't really care about Ambiance, that's not my thing... i just wanna eat good food. The service was very good and the food was so delicious! I brought my 3 children and the wifey. We all filled our bellies for just above $50, which is pretty darn fine with me these days. The lady who served us was very sweet and handled my children like an absolute pro, she was great. Me and my wife got the Colorado Burrito and Fajita Burrito. My son got the Mexican Pizza. My daughters got the chicken nuggets (dino nuggets) with french fries and a Small Beef Burrito from the kid's menu. We are from California and we are a little bit food spoiled, so we've been disappointed by almost everything in the area here. This place was what we've been searching for in terms of Mexican food. My favorite Mexican restaurant! Food is freshly made and the service is outstanding! Their chips and salsa are made daily, along with their mole sauce which is the best I've ever had, and I appreciate their beans not coming from a can but made fresh as well. My go to dishes are: Shredded beef mole enchiladas, Chicken mole, grilled chicken tacos, fajitas, or their carnitas. We were pleasantly surprised to find good Mexican food in a small town in Northern Nevada. It's not fancy, and it's not a dive. Patio was closed and door from patio was locked. This is a great casual Mexican spot to check out while you're visiting the greater Tahoe area. I came here with my large family without a reservation and they were able to seat us immediately. Carla our server took great care of us, and was especially polite to my 96 year old grandmother which was so appreciated, especially when she has many dietary restrictions. Their homemade chips were warm, salty, and perfectly crunchy and served with two great salsas. I then ordered a michelada which came with the tamarind straw and Tajin rim (perfect) and an order of chicken fajitas. Portions are extremely generous so make sure to come hungry! Was recommended to try this place by a friend and fellow foodi, "it's the best Mexican food I have had since leaving SoCal." While I personally haven't tried a lot of SoCal Mexican food I can attest that is the best Mexican food I have had since a small place back home that I have never found a restaurant that even remotely compares. We will definitely be regulars from now on and are so happy to have found this place. I had some business to do in Carson City NV and was looking for a place to eat before we left town. A short drive south this place popped up on the search and man did we get lucky. We got there a little late (7:00pm) and they are only open till 8:00pm. The waitress was so kind and professional, made us feel very welcome. The menu is extensive, but I went with my usual. I can tell a good Mexican restaurant by its chilaquiles, and this place rocked it. We also got the nachos and that was really good too. I would have liked to had the soda come from a fountain so you can get refills. I don't like getting the drink from a bottle. But that is a very small price to pay for one of the best Mexican places I have dined at in a very long time. I only hope my business takes me back to the Nevada capital again, so I can take the short drive south and feast again. read more

6/18/2018: The Restaurant Owners hail from Guadalajara, Mexico: If, you're aware of the cuisine made in this region, the food tends to be on the mild side. I ordered food to go . . . I ordered the octopus #61-the sauce was mucho caliente but, I didn't find octopus in the messed up dinner due to the styrofoam container melted, cracked, and co-mingled with the small carne asada burrito and grilled chicken enchilada in the other cracked, styrofoam container! Therefore, minus two stars for no octopus found in #61 meal which costs $14.99 plus, tax. Anyway~It just so happens, after I returned where I have been staying, I brought my washed, Costco salad containers salvaging the messy, two dinners floating at the bottom of the plastic bag: The two cracked styrofoam containers began oozing out the remaining meals into the bottom of the plastic bag while the two styrofoam containers were almost empty sitting on top of the messed up meals inside the plastic bag!!!! GRRRRR . . . Therefore, minus two stars for the styrofoam containers cracking leaving the two horrible meals floating at the bottom of the plastic bag. ****I called the Restaurant and I spoke to Omar who took my to go order: Omar stated he's going to talk to his boss about rectifying my messed up meals; he told me to call tomorrow, Tuesday. If the boss rectifies my messed up meals, I'll remove my negative review for the Restaurant! Disculpe, señor y Omar: ¡Quiero un reembolso! We are a transplant from South Lake Tahoe and moved to Carson City. We saw this restaurant on one of our trips and decided to try it. Honestly, comparing the Mexican restaurants in SLT and Carson City, this one is by far one of the best. I have a special liking for chorizo and tried their burrito. It was very good. One of the best I have had. My wife had a combo plate and it look very good as well. They do not skimp on food. Their chips and salsa are to die for. They are made fresh daily. We will definitely be back. Speaking of chips, I was a little disappointed in that there were three of us and the one basket of chips was not enough. It cost $4.99 for a second basket. I spent about $133.00 on dinner and feel that the second basket of chips should have been included. The server should have some discretion on this. That being said, this will not stop us from returning. That's why the four stars. read more
