Molcajete. Absolutely the best I've ever had.

Absolutely the best molcajete I've ever had. Already looking forward to my next visit. Everyone working here was super friendly, and the service is amazing. The food came out super fast, and was very hot. Inside the restaurant has a very authentic Mexican vibe. Very tasty!!!

If you have read any of my reviews I am a stickler for hot temperature food. This place hits high marks. The food is hot, fresh, and delicious. The restaurant is clean, well decorated, with good music. They have a nice little patio for seating. We chose to sit inside as it was very windy. The service was ok but when they surprised us with a sweet little fried tortilla treat with cinnamon, sugar, a touch of honey, and whip cream it made everything awesome.

Chips and salsa are a must here! They are served warm and fresh and their agua de tamarindo is my absolute favorite! I will visit this spot for a burrito if I'm in the area. This particular visit; I had to order a few tacos as well. Service was wonderful and I was glad the dining room was quieter. It was a hotter day and the tamarindo agua hit the spot! Iykyk! I always enjoy my visits in Minden. Next time you're in Minden/Gardnerville and craving Mexican food; this is your place. I'll see you all in the near future.

Number 7. Carne asada street taco, chili relleno, enchilada con carnitas. My personal fav choice

Seems like most of the food reviews on Yelp or Google are written by Tasty Freeze tastebuds. That said: this is a wonderful small family owned/ operated business worth the trip. Pappa and uncle switch off cooking, but always delish. Unique sauces and flavors; not commercial... Simply good. Real poblanos in the chili relleno, authentic fried pork carnitas, and decent steaks at a fair price, and they don't skimp on the cheese!!!

    The best food!

This is a five star Mexican Restaurant! Fresh, home cooked food. I was served tortilla chips with green and red salsa plus a small bowl of refried beans. The green and red salsas were flavorful, so good, not too spicy and reminded me of enchilada sauce, not bitter or watery, not tart and definitely not canned or bottled. The refried beans were smooth, hot, yummy and not too salty nor were they loaded with lard. I ordered a combo plate: shredded beef enchilada with verde sauce and shredded beef crispy taco no lettuce. The plate came with refried beans and rice. The meal was delicious. The shredded beef was so flavorful and tender, yummy. It tasted like brisket cooked for hours. The enchilada sauce was the best green/verde sauce I've had in years. The rice and beans were excellent, too. I love that the food wasn't salty. The customer service was exceptional. The employees and owners, all who were busy, were happy, smiling and helpful. They were great with all customers. They looked as though they liked being there, enjoyed their jobs. Great great food, service and experience! 7/30/2022 Saturday.... Loved this place so much yesterday, I came back today for late lunch/early dinner. I ordered the same meal, it was even better today. Can't wait to come back.

First time trying this place and I don't know why we waited so long. Excellent food and service! My combination plate was the size of a large pizza pan. This is now my go to Mexican restaurant in town.

So far, the best Mexican food I've had in the area. Green & Red Salsa with Bean dip served with the chips. All were solid. The bean dip is basically refried beans. I had the Machaca con Huevos...it was delicious. Rice/Beans are solid. My wife had the Chili Relleno withoiut any complaints. Looking forward to going back and trying some other entrees.

    Chicken tortilla soup

Food was good and service also. I ordered the carne asada with an appetizer chicken tortilla soup. The chicken tortilla soup was off the charts excellent. Perhaps it was that I ordered it medium rare, but the carne asada was very grisly and tough. Chips and salsa met expectations.

    Yum

This young man was the best. We were brought chips and salsa, and we also requested the extra spicy for the Hubby. The mild was perfect for me. The chips were nice and crunchy with a great corn flavor. We did order a sangria for me and a margarita for the hubby. They have a really nice lunch menu with great prices and a very extensive regular menu. I ordered the #6 off the lunch menu. A chili relleno with the sauce on the side and a crispy ground beef taco. The rice was so good, great flavor as well as the refried beans. 5 stars for each of these. The taco was so full of meat (ground beef) and fresh veggies. The chilli relleno was huge and perfectly cooked. I get my sauce on the side so leftovers will not get soggy. Now this sauce was like a ranchero sauce, looked like onions, celery and maybe tomatoes in it. It was really tasty. Hubby got a #13 off the regular menu. 1 enchilada, he got ground beef, 1 crunchy taco with ground beef and a tamale which was shredded beef. I tried the tamale and it was very delicious. We did ask to speak to the Manager who looked a bit nervous coming over. We explained to him it was our very 1st visit and won't be our last. We told him everyone wants to call you over to complain, we were like we wanted to give you major compliments on everything from the awesome waiter Ivan to the food and atmosphere. Music was at a perfect tone etc. We were seated by the bar area in a booth. Very nice in that area. We will definitely be going back

I'll need to come back for a sit down with music, but for this visit it was a To-Go order at the counter. The order came out relatively quick and hot, so much so that I had to be careful taking it back to the car. It was a huge amount of food and so much so that it was good for 2 very satisfying dinners. Even a little microwaving on Night 2 didn't really dent the experience. My only quibble is that I prefer black beans to refried, but either forgot to ask or wasn't sure.

I live in Carson City, and when my husband and I found this little spot I was happy because they serve breakfast. A lot of Mexican places around here do not. They also have a variety of dishes that have potato and egg in them, and my husband and I are vegetarian and vegan respectively. I really was happy that they had some dishes that we could choose from and modify to fit our dietary needs. Last weekend we drove from Carson to have breakfast on Saturday. We got there at 10:30. They list themselves as being open at 10am. There was a closed sign in the window. We could smell food cooking, and I could actually see movement through the tinted windows. Confused, we decided to wait thinking that maybe they would open seeing people standing there (in the summer heat mind you). While we were waiting, I noticed one of the waitresses that I've seen before quickly drive up around to the side, get out, and run into a back door. I thought, maybe they're running late. Maybe somebody called in sick and they are shortstaffed. I decided to knock on the door to ask when they were going to open, because we had come all that way to have breakfast with some friends who are also vegetarian. We've been telling them how excited we were to find another option for breakfast. No one would open the door for us. I called as well. No answer. We went next-door to Blind Dog, had a coffee, and waited for a bit. We came out after and they were still closed. At this point we just gave up and drove back to Carson City and had breakfast at Squeeze In. It was a really big disappointment. The food here is all right. I enjoy the potato taquitos. They will modify their dishes without dairy to make it vegan friendly. Picture of a couple weeks before when I brought a friend here for lunch and the margaritas we had. Drinks are a bit overpriced but taste good. The ambiance is upbeat. When they are open, the service is friendly and swift.

I checked this place out in the afternoon before deciding to go to dinner there. It looked pretty casual in the menu look like something everybody would enjoy. When we got there, we were greeted nicely and our server, JC, was very nice. All of the food was bountiful. We ordered the appetizer with three different items which was pretty good. It was onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mozzarella sticks. The zucchini was a little undercooked. On to the main courses. It took longer than we would think and they brought it out in pieces. The two men got theirs first and my daughter and I got hers a few minutes later and Grandma was served last. Grandpa ordered a steak sandwich and he said it was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak, which she said was decent. Grandma ordered fish and chips and she said it was so so. The french fries were thick steak type that were really good. A couple of us tried them. My daughter and I were excited when we saw the lobster tacos and we ordered them. The chips that came with them were salty beyond belief! We could not even eat them. When I told JC, she said there's nothing they could do about the chips and she offered to take the salad off the bill which I thought was nice. Both of my daughter and I could not eat the chips. The lobster tacos were not good. If the corn tortillas were warmed or cooked, it must've been very, very little. The lobster was chopped up in a wait and mixed with some kind of sauce that we can barely taste the lobster. We got two tacos and barely ate one. We took them home, but it didn't seem worth it to try to mend this. The best thing I can say is that the people they were very welcoming and pleasant. Also, JC gave my father-in-law a lemon bar for his birthday as we walked out. That was really sweet. Lastly, make sure you bring cash because you have to pay extra for using a card. We have to pay over $6 extra because we used a card. Am I understanding is that is happening a lot in restaurants. So, I don't think this is unusual.

Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. Oh heck, you're in the building you're hungry, change the plan, enjoy.
