The cashier lady touched CASH then touched FOOD. This is where I questioned the cleanliness. I was once a regular but the attitudes of the workers & cleanliness really makes me think twice about supporting them. Depending who is there the owner older (guy) or his wife or son/daughter my experience changes. The male owner has a really nasty attitude and overcharges me for the same usual item I get. I confronted him once and he said that's the price but his wife says another. They are super rude and now the cleanliness comes into major questioning after I saw what I did. "Meh", pretty much describes it. I must say that the rice and beans sucked. Liquid-y beans, bland rice. I chalked it up to us being the last order of the night, but idk. Fabulous place. The boyfriend and I ventured here after passing by it a couple of times. Nice and weighty burritos. I do wish the carne asade was a bit more spicy (but that's because I'm currently dreaming of a different place by me). Good prices. We indulged on 1$ tacos too, (monday-wednesday!). The salsas are tasty, the green one hits you in the face with some heat and spice! The horchata wasn't my favorite, I'd unfortunately have to disagree with the other yelper, a place closer to me does it much better. I can't remember why, it may have been too much cinnamon? Or the flavor was a bit off? They need to put their hours of operation on here! I think a majority of the nights they're open until 9.. but I'm not sure about Sunday if it closes earlier. Monday-Wednesday they have $1.00 chicken & beef tacos that are full of flavor! You must try their popusa! I had it for the very first time today and it was so good! Carmen is the sweetest lady too! I visited this restaurant with 5 friends this past weekend and had a great experience. I have driven past it many times and we finally decided to stop in. We visited on a Saturday evening around 6 pm. We had no wait and were seated right away. The chips...oh my gosh...delicious. And the salsa was great too! There were 3 options, all of which were great. I split an order of steak tacos (with cilantro and onion) and an order of chicken enchilada suizas with a friend. Both were delicious. If I had to recommend one over the other- I would say steak tacos, but I would order both again. The whole time we were there, people were stopping in to pick up take out orders- I will definitely follow their lead! I have been looking for a great takeout place for years and am excited to have found one. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was there was no alcohol, so it was more of a get in, get out place. Less lounging and hanging out than most restaurants. But no complaints about what was there! Definitely plan to visit again soon... Did I mention? Fill bill with tip for 6 people was less than $70. I wanted to like this place. It was just ok. I did like the salsa but the chips were not fresh. I got the tamales and they were ok. My daughter got a trio and one of her tamales was old and dry. Not sure what was up with that since it didn't look anything like mine. The horchata was watery. The worst part was you could smell the bathroom from the tables. I think it was the bathrooms - it was the stuff they use as air freshener for the bathrooms. Then they started cleaning the drink dispenser right then and there - hands inside the horchata machine, people standing on wobbly chairs. I didn't know if they were cleaning or refilling it. It started to make me a bit queasy since thats what I was drinking. I don't think I can go back after all of that. We went on a Sunday at 5pm. Best Mexican food in the burbs. Awesome chimichangas and guacamole which is made homemade while you wait. Service is friendly and they have a rewards program. Carry out is fast and great. I'm used to eating Mexican in California where it is amazing and have been disappointed with many places until now. Food is fresh, homemade... Even the sauces are all homemade! The guacamole is sooooo good (although they add cheese on top which is a little odd I think, I don't care for it and always ask them to leave it off), and the chips are addictive!
