Pretty darn good. Caught them on a Saturday for brunch.nice little selection. Had 2 hand crafted cocktails. Nice ambiance. Plenty of photo ops inside the spot and out front. The staff was cool. As the only melanated person in the establishment I felt comfortable. I sat at the bar. They 20% auto gratuity your bill and include a service charge. You all let me know if that happens for your visit too. You are served chips and salsa. Homemade and quite tasty. Overall it's the feel of a classic Mexican spot with a bit of modern vibes.

Great experience at this location. We came after a Jets game and the place was packed but was able to get a table for 4 without a reservation. They have a big menu and varied items. Plates are on the larger side. 1. Guac - made in front of you out of a cart with ingredients. Very good portion and delicious! 2. Octopus appetizer - One of the biggest and tastiest (grilled) that I have had; I'd come back for this. 3. Shrimp fajitas - 3/5. Good amount of shrimp but had tail shells on. Salty which is on par with other restaurants. Comes with lots of veggies. 4. Leche Flan - Very good, thick, good flavor. Overall, a great experience here and would come again to try other things on their menu.

Beautiful restaurant and decor, love the hand painted plates. Our server Katherine was friendly and attentive making sure we had everything we needed. We ordered the nachos with chicken - the tortilla chips were unpleasantly hard that we ended up scooping the topping onto the complementary chips that came with a side of salsa. Overall it was tasty but those tortilla chips were not good. I had the birria tacos that don't come with cheese - it's only $1 to add on so I liked that price add on but I can get birria tacos with cheese for much less than here and still taste great. My boys enjoyed their burger and birria chimichamga but it's hard to say we will be back. It was delicious, but overpriced in our opinion. I'm not sure if there's a separate menu with the non alcoholic drinks but it wasn't present on the menu we had. The virgin piña colada was ok, ended up tasting more and more sweet than I expected and for $9 - it wasn't worth it, I prefer my drinks more natural. They also add gratuity to the check -- we were just a party of three, so that felt unnecessary and a bit off-putting. We always tip well regardless of service, but adding gratuity for a small group can create less incentive for attentive service in the future. It's another reason we may not return.

I'll start by saying that my family and I visited on Father's Day, and the restaurant had only been open a little over a week, so we expected didn't expect it to be flawless. I also made a reservation in advance. After we were seated, no one came to our table for about 20 minutes. During that time, we looked over the menu and decided on our food and drinks. When our server finally arrived, they were apologetic and explained they were short-staffed. After placing our order, we didn't see our server again for quite a while. We wanted water but couldn't find anyone to ask. When our server eventually returned, I asked for water for the table, but it never came. I had to ask again later, and when it did arrive, we were only given one glass for our table of three. The highlights: The food was genuinely good. We had the birria tacos, skirt steak tacos, and another dish whose name I can't recall but comes in a Molcajete with mixed meats. All were flavorful with generous portions. The passion fruit margarita a bit on the sweet side for my liking. The space itself is beautifully designed warm, earthy tones and tasteful decor make it feel inviting and well thought out. That said, it's clear that the service needs work. What caught me off guard was the automatic 20% gratuity added to the check. That's not typical for the area, and given the level of service, it felt a bit presumptive.

    Appetizer and a great tequila!

Great restaurant and great service. Drinks and food were delicious! And the ambiance is awesome!

We had the octopus, great taste! Tacos were flavorful and juicy. Jon was so helpful, nice, and had good recommendations. When we went to the restaurant they had just opened so it was super chilled and relaxed vibes. The decor was very entertaining. Nice experience!

Great decor and ambiance with the musicians walking around. The service, food, and drinks were good too! A little pricey but overall good experience and food!

The guac was good but could use a bit more salt, i wish they had chiccarons as chips instead of tortillas but the chips were great so wasn't a big issue. overall though expensive for some pretty average guac in my opinion. the seabass crudo was great, i loved the sauce and the mango went great with it. Super fresh, super tasty. Unfortunately the tacos were a mess, when it arrived the tortillas were so soggy that they were just coming apart, the meat was also falling off and overall the presentation was horrendous. the tacos weren't balanced as well, there were some with too much meat and then some with basically only cheese. overall flavor was not birria im typically use to but it was solid. honestly these tacos are probably the worst tacos i've ever had, for $20 it's a travesty. overall for a place nearby i'd come to get some drinks and the crudo and esquite because those were fantastic. but i'll pass on their tacos hard.

The bright blue exterior and the nicely decorated interior was a pleasant sight to see in Union City! They weren't busy at all and we got right to ordering. The Tostada VIP Ceviche was super tasty. It was bright, citrusy, tangy, creamy, and slightly spicy. The scallops, sea bass, and shrimp were all insanely fresh. I loved every bite. The avocado was a must as it added a different texture and freshness to the bite. The portion seemed small for ~$30 but I enjoyed the dish. The Birria Sinaloense Tacos were delicious! Savory & rich in the best way but honestly, they could've added more meat or even a 4th taco. The tacos were satisfying, the consomé was so comforting and the salsa brava was delicious. Good try!

I think they are bogus. This restaurant has several locations around NJ. Parking is valet only. The ambiance and decor is pretty, fun and loud. Very loud. We were seated upstairs with a pretty good view of the restaurant. Where we were seated, the lights coming from the huge projector screen was annoying. They give you an iPad to look at the menu, which can be confusing if you are technically challenged. I am not. My husband is! There's a photographer going around asking if you want a picture. I agree with one of the reviews. It seems that they are only interested in upselling. I ordered the house margarita the regular size. It was OK, from a mix, but no tequila to be found at $13. My husband had a Pacifico beer which he ask twice for lime and a glass. They brought him a margarita glass and a few dry limes. At this point he gave up. I had the chicken fajitas. It came with Rice, black refried beans and some guacamole. The included three flour tortillas were terrible old and dry. The only thing good were the fajitas. We also ordered chicken chili rellenos. Came with the terrible rice and the refried beans. My husband said they were OK. Edible as he put it. The Mexican food here is not authentic. Now for the service. Our server, told us right off that her English was limited. We speak Spanish, so that was not a problem. The service is mediocre. We asked for water twice. Finally she brought it. But not the hot sauce my husband asked for twice. It's definitely a 3 star restaurant. Catering to people that want the fun but are OK with mediocre food.

We ordered our food and I had the Thursday lunch special Birria which was very nice and tender, my stepmother had the chicken burrito it was huge and very good and my dad had the shrimp and steak fajitas which he loved. We ended the meal with the outrageous churros piping hot and such a sweet surprise!! We talked with Yanci who is the owner's daughter and she was so nice and sweet. Best part about this place is the atmosphere everywhere you look it just gets better. The decor is awesome and everything just went perfect together. I read other reviews about how it probably is on a busy night and I'm happy we came when we did... that it wasn't hectic and loud. Whether one desires a quick taco or a full-course meal, my friends and I were craving rich and bold tastes from Mexico and decided on this family-owned establishment for an early Cinco de Mayo dinner. The reservation was easily made by calling Mariachi Grill, located on Ridge Road in Lyndhurst. Upon arrival at this popular spot to locals, with its cozy and casual interior decked out in traditional Mexican vibes, we were greeted by the staff and immediately got a table by the entrance, but they also have outdoor dining, weather permitting. The menu selection is much smaller than at other restaurants. We decided on the Cheese Enchiladas, Beef Enchiladas, California Burrito, Beef Burrito, Chicken Fries with Fries, and Shrimp Fajitas. Some meals are accompanied with a small portion of rice and black beans. Complimentary house chips and salsa started our meal. As the restaurant is working on their liquor license, it's BYOB.
