What a great surprise. We started out for the Peruvian restaurant next door, which turned out to be closed on Monday, so we hit this joint. We thank goodness for Mondays. This spot is covered, floor to ceiling, with decorations, ornaments, photos - it looks like we were stepping into grandma's dining room (if Grandma had been a Columbia cook). Wish we could have sampled everything, and may have to go back to accomplish this. Prices are moderate, food is good, service is pleasant, and the selection is spot on. There is a small area where you can buy jewelry, another area filled with Columbian snacks, and a scattered about are Bible quotes - all very nice (nothing religious hitting you over the head, just adds to the pleasant atmosphere). And they take their coffee seriously! A nice find! read more

Colombian restaurant tucked right on Boynton Beach. Good food and large portions, but was unimpressed with the lackluster service. Came in, no one bothered to seat me and I had to just speak up and ask "do I just sit down??". Sat down, no one brought water for a good 15 mins- took about 20 mins before I flagged someone down for water (not even that busy that night). And had to flag someone down for the menu and even to place an order. Paid 20$ for the 2 people dinner just so I could try the blood sausage, beef, plantains, potatoes, crisp pork, chicken. Had to take half of it home b/c was just a huge portion. Good for meat lovers- savory and well seasoned meats. Would still come back here b/c of the atmosphere and good food portions and taste for friends. Anyone new to the Colombian food scene, I recommend calling an arepa to split and try with your friends. It is a cornmeal thicker and yummier version of the tortilla but may as well call it a corn cake. We called for the one with mozzarella on top- you can always get other topings but I think the mozzarella brings out the natural sweetness of the yellow corn in the arepa best. Arepas are heavy so don't take this as a small appetizer b/c anything you order here in this restaurant is going to be huge! Overall, one can tell that this place has super super good food and high quality dishes. Just wished that they were more attentive to the customers. Came in thirsty and stayed thirsty a good 30 mins before my water came. read more

Only two waiters were somewhat kind the others were very rude our assigned waitress butterfly tattoo and glasses the other rude one had dark hair and kinda short older woman never checked on us and was busy playing on her phone. I normally don't write reviews but Its pretty rare I get treated this bad at a restaurant got continuous dirty looks from waitresses and when I asked for to go box and check it was thrown rudely on my table. Sunday lunch at El Atico was spot on!! We started with the Sangria it was refreshing. We shared some beef, chicken and cheese empanadas.....they came out piping hot sadly we devoured them before I had a chance to take a picture of them! My daughter and I shared the Picada al Atico and my hubby had the churrasco steak platter. The portions were enormous-- we left with plenty of leftovers for lunch tomorrow! Everyone worked as a team and with smiles on their faces....something you see so little of now days! This place is a gem, we can't wait to return. Finally, some flavor in this town! I'm usually a tourist when I visit these parts of Florida so maybe I just haven't seen much of Florida. Although I enjoy this lovely state, I usually find that the food isn't super exciting in Florida. There are some good delicious food for sure, but nothing too spicy if you know what I mean. Maybe it's just the people I hang out with, but they finally brought us somewhere where the food is absolutely popping with spices and flavors that I usually don't get to taste or run to in Florida. And ever since they've brought us here, I'm absolutely a huge fan of El Atico. Dare I say it's even better than the Peruvian restaurants we have back in the west coast. Now that's some high praise! And yes, I think it's better Lomo Saltado and empanadas at my favorite west coast Peruvian restaurant and I can't wait to try other things on the menu! read more

So this was going to be a 5 star ; but the wait really annoyed me . I am not sure if it was because we were outside but it was like they forgot about us . The food was very good ; only disappointment was the salchipapa - still have not been to a place where they make a salchipapa real Colombian style . I'm talking about salsa rosada ; huevos de codorniz , etc . But other than the salchipapa it was very good . The guacamole was very interesting since they mixed chicharrón and other things into it which made it very tasty . Most Sundays, I'm looking for breakfast or pastries. This is my secret cafe. It's small, quaint and family owned. I know on a Sunday morning they will be opened early and their pastries warm. My favorites are Guava and Cheese pastilitos, Chicken Empanadas and Pandebono (cheese rolls). Columbian Empanadas have a crunchy corn crust.... yum! They, of course, served lunch and dinner. I will have to invite someone special to try either. I missed them several times during the Pandemic. Happy that they survived and thriving. It's the closest spot for me. read more

Food was truly amazing and authentic. I had the cazuela montañera which is a bean casserole -- so exquisite and savory. I also had two empanadas: carne & cheese. They were fresh and delicious. It came with some green sauce that I unfortunately don't remember the name of, but was oh so yummy and full of flavor. The pasión fruit juice was very delish. The price of it all was super reasonable and I left with leftovers and bursting. Service was ok, not as attentive, but the staff is amiable. we took out of town friends there and we had the worst service they were slow as molasses my husband and I had margaritas that tasted like dirty dish water I get nauseous just thinking about it Even though the plate were a good portion the taste was blah no seasoning and the food was cold very disappointed and to top it they charged an 18th precent service charge for a party of 4. that's ridiculous I wouldn't be visiting that place again read more

UPDATE: I went back the next day to show my mom the amazing ahe ( ahi?) salsa stuff! SHE FELL IN LOVE. Sadly, I was feel down about the pork meal I got. I got the Lomo de Cerdo Encebollado which is a wood grilled pork tenderloin. I didn't feel like it had much flavor unlike the churrasco steak I had the day before. Tried the red beans though, and they are yummy! I am will just keep going back and trying more things! I saw this place and was curious! I looked at yelp and wow the reviews are great! My boyfriend and I tried it yesterday! Sadly, we both had tummy aches from the crazy weekend of drinking for my mothers birthday haha... whoops.. so our tummy's couldn't handle anymore alcohol. Soooo I did not get to try their margaritas :( but next time! I ordered the churrasco steak! Delicious! IF I had to say one blah thing it was the steak had a lot of chewy parts near the outside. That's it.... other than that it was delicious! The chimichurri sauce was good. It was more garlicky than cilantroey. The other sauce/salsa thing they bring out with the steak is ( going to spell this wrong) ahe. It is spicy but SO FLAVORFUL! Buttttttt no.. I need rice and sweet plantains! My boyfriend got the Mondongo soup.... that's made with pork stomach............. yes, my boyfriend made me try it. He said it was delicious... Sorry, but I am not into stomach apparently. Texture is a big thing with me when eating. The texture is weird. Reminds me of tofu in the way that it soaks up all the flavor it is cooked in. Atleast I can say I have tried stomach O.O I have to add this... My boyfriend loves their ice haha! He says it's very nice and doesn't melt super fast. I haven't had anything on the menu that wasn't delicious! I love their fruit drinks con leche- soursop was better than the guava. Bandeja Paisa could be enough for two! Pork belly was our favorite. Cooked perfectly crispy without being dried out. YOU MUST try their queso empanada. The beef empanadas were mostly potato...but the cheese one combined with that crunchy shell is something I look forward to every time! Mondongo soup is large portioned for a medium. Could pass for a meal as it comes with a corn cake and avocado. If you like gamey tripe- this is for you! Flavorful soup base. If you're gonna have Colombian breakfast, make sure to bring your appetite because there's no such thing as "light" eats on their menu. I ordered my coffee black, which was excellent even with just a little bit of sugar. In terms of food, the fam and I tried their beef empanadas and pan de bono to start and OMG. The empanadas were packed with shredded beef and potatoes and when you add their ají (Colombian salsa) to anything really, it makes the food 10x better. We kept running out and asking our waitress for more, who kindly obliged. We also ordered beef calentado (an arepa topped with a hefty portion of shredded beef, cheese and salsa) and arepa desmechada which is a flank steak with mixed rice and red beans, and also comes with an arepa. These dishes were large and shareable and definitely not fit for breakfast! I would highly recommend it all. The service was great as well- our waitress was friendly and was happy to answer any and all questions we had about items on the menu. She also checked on us regularly to make sure we were happy with our meals. El Atico is def a Solid breakfast, lunch or dinner option. read more

I have been to the Atlico a few times before, but as far as service goes it wasn't the best, but today I decided to give it another shot and I was pleasantly surprised of how much better the service was. The staff was friendly, helpful just very pleasant. The food here is always very good, it is your typical Colombian/ Latin comfort food, great portions and affordable prices. All ingredients are combine perfectly to give you that grandma's cooking taste, just don't tell my grandma I said that, she'll kill me lol. I've been going to El Atico for a while now... how have I not reviewed it?? The restaurant is small and it can get pretty busy but so far I've never waited for a table. What do I know about Colombian food? nothing much, but what I do know is that it is good, the portions are good, the service is good, take-out is just like if we ate in the restaurant. I love the food. I also love that it is women-owned. It's in our heavy rotation of places to eat. I'm making my way through the menu... and I haven't found anything I didn't like yet. I've passed by this place a million times and never stopped in. My partner was in the mood for soup on New Years Day and the reviews of this place fit the bill, so we tried it. The soup of the day was fantastic! Don't ask me what it was called, but it had chicken, beef, and pork in it. It was a very generous serving and I wasn't able to finish it. The soup came out right away, before our appetizer. We also got the pork belly as an appetizer. I can't say that I'd order it again, but it was good. This is authentic colombian food. Found this place on yelp a couple of months back and have been going every weekend ever since. We always order the beef empanadas and caldo de costilla. The food is delicious and really fresh. The natural juices are made to order and the maracuya is so good! Prices are reasonable and service is great! read more

One thing is for sure. If you have a big appetite, you have to come here. I'm always looking to expand my taste palette and Colombian cuisine has yet to be a part of it. Judging by the menu, this restaurant serves a lot of authentic Colombian cuisine. I had such a hard time choosing an entree to order, but in the end I ordered the Lomo Saltado. The meat was so tender and it went well with the sautéed vegetables. My friend and I ordered the Obleas for dessert. It was such a unique flavor with the wafer, caramel, fruit syrup, and cheese together. I liked it at first but at the end I the cheese became a bit too much. I regret not ordering the Bandeja Paisa because it's their most popular dish and the description made it sound delicious. I'll have to come back with a friend to share with or a bigger appetite. read more
