I am hoping the actual service is far better then the customer service I received when I bought the gift cards, which was $320 worth. I called the spa to check on hours only to get a rude receptionist. I headed down to purchase the gift cards. This is the closest spa to us/my daughters.When I walked in, I was not greeted with a hello, just a what do you need. I told her I need two gift cards for a spa package, very sharp and ride she states, how much, I said I wanted the spa package and needed to see the menu, She then again said which one very rudely. I said I need your menu of services. Once that was taken care of, she did not even look at me to say thank you, have a nice day. She ignored me, spoke to another employee about services and I said, thank you, is that all? She never once acknowledged me. I don't believe I have ever had such rude service or lack of acknowledgment. I hope my girls receive better service because the face of the store was AWFUL! When I left another lady was walking in and I asked her if she had been to this spa and she said no, but she too had called and said the girl on the phone was so rude! Worse experience with my nails...both times I came I was talked into dip vs gel. The dip didn't stay longer than 8 days and starting chipping and my nails have all broke. When I called to tell them and see what they can do I was told they won't do anything after 7 days or they will give me a 10$ refund to not come back...uh? This was very strange I asked for 10$ off my next service then and I wanted a different person and was told no I had to go to the same nail tech and they would not give me 10$ off my service only if I did not return. Save your money! I went there today for a facial to treat myself on my birthday. The one good thing was that I got a last minute appointment (but now I know why). When I got there, the aesthetician was not even there. Without saying anything except to get my name and what my appointment was for, the receptionist looked around and then got on the phone. No explanation or help offered to me. Finally someone else walked up and offered to help me. I think the receptionist was on the phone looking for the aesthetician, but some explanation or assistance would have been helpful. I stood there for several minutes wondering what to do before the second person finally helped. Turns out the aesthetician was late because she said she had a sick baby (okay, I'll cut her slack for that). On their menu of services, they only list the facial name and price, so I had to ask what the differences were which would normally be no problem, but the aesthetician was Asian with a thick accent (again, no problem as long as you don't have any questions). What I gathered was that the most expensive facial on their menu ($100) had four extra masks, so I went with that one. First my comments on the aesthetician: she was very amateurish and her movements felt unsure which made me uncomfortable. She left the room 3 or 4 times presumably because she needed supplies. She didn't say anything as she worked which would normally be fine, but my eyes were closed (more on why in a minute) and she would plop these cold globs of goo on my forehead which made me jump every time. Back to why my eyes were closed... when she was plopping goo on me, she actually dropped some on my eye which thank god for quick reflexes closed in time, but then it was all over my eyelid and in the corner of my eye. I didn't get it all out until I got home and washed my face. She got that stuff in my hair and in my ears, too. Messy! My comments on the facial: The facial was a huge waste of money. That is, unless you like being petted for roughly an hour for 100 bucks. She put lots of goo and cream on my face and rubbed it in (it was relaxing; gotta give her credit for that!), but it didn't seem to do anything. She put me under light steam for a few minutes at the beginning, but it really wasn't close enough or long enough to do anything. After rubbing several different types of goo on me, she put this really super thick mask (the one that dripped in my eye and ears) on my face. I think it was roughly a inch thick. Then, she put another mask on top of that one - how does she think that's supposed to absorb into my skin?! Aren't the extra masks why I paid $100? Then, the masks kinda hardened and she sorta pulled it off in large pieces. No exfoliation (unless you called getting rubbed with a smooth cream exfoliation) and no extractions. It was a super lame facial. I could have done more at home and saved myself the 100 bucks (plus tip!). Plus, I only counted two masks, and one was on top of the other... The pedicure chairs are right outside the facial room, so I had to listen to toe nails being clipped the whole time which seriously grossed me out. The walls were paper thin and you could see the light peeking in between the wall and the ceiling in the facial room. The aesthetician was a nice girl and the salon is attractive on the surface, but save your money and time - go elsewhere. read more

El INCONVENIENT Bella Problem experience #1 - I was given a gift certificate for Christmas some time ago... It was originally for a VIP pedicure but I asked if I could get a manicure instead and that was fine. The gel polish chipped after a few days, so I went back and they fixed it, no big deal I thought. Except I had to wait for the original girl that did my manicure to fix it - a 30 minute wait. Problem #2 - I showed up on a Saturday, with no appointment, nor did the three women behind me have an appointment, yet they were taken back right away. Hmmm... So I got up and asked how much longer would it be? The man with the tattooed arms said oh did you pick a color? I said I want gel polish, he then seated me - with a woman who didn't know how to apply it!!! So I already had been waiting 20 mins out front, then another ten to be told the technician didn't know how. So I got up and left. However, the fool that I am, called for an appointment the next day, and the tattooed man even apologized to me. So I figured, ok, they made it right. (Months go by with the occasional pop in for a fill, no issues, never really got the wow factor, but close to home) Last and third problem EVER- calling in on a Friday for a Saturday appointment (because I've learned my lesson) I made an appointment for a basic fill and a hair cut after being asked if the nails were all I needed, so I said why not, I'll splurge! I walked in Saturday at 2pm as per SAMANTHA, the front desk woman who made the appointment over the phone had said when my appointment would be. The girl behind the counter didn't even say hi, asked what I was in for and I gave her my name. A few seconds and clicks of the keyboard later, She asked again what I was there for and how to spell my name. At this point the impression was that my appointment made with Samantha the day prior was not saved perhaps? So the girl said ok, we will be right with you with a puzzled look on her face still. I sat down and Samantha came over to ask me about the backfill she assumed I wanted. I stated no, basic acrylic fill, regular polish and a clear gel top coat. (She was standing at the counter while the girl was figuring out if I truly had an appointment or not, so I know she heard me) SAMANTHA proceeded to tell me that "customers" don't do that. Hmmm... Your brochure of services states that you do. Then she proceeded to explained to me why "customers" don't do that, which I took as to what I wanted was a HUGE INCONVENIENCE to the technician. I simply stated that was all I wanted and as someone who has been in several times before and had the same thing done, why was it such a problem now? So SAMANTHA, turned to the tattooed man, made a face, then he said "come here" in a tone that made me feel so un-welcomed. I got up, walked towards him, and said "Nevermind, this isn't the first time I've had issues with this place" and I left. I ended up going down the street, spending much more on my nails then I had anticipated spending at El RUDE Bella and was extremely happy, I also went to Great Clips and spent less then half of what I was going to spend at El INCONVENIENT Bella for my hair cut and it was wonderful, I suggest you go see Chelsea at Great clips on Chandler Heights and Higley. AMAZE. (I will say that two weeks prior I had brought my sister in with me, we had fills and polish done, both of us stunned they wanted to charge $15 just for clear gel top coat when the brochure said $5. We chalked it up to a language barrier, but they speak fine English.) Needless to say, I'm never going back, and if yelp doesn't get through to them, I will be mailing a letter to the owners and BBB. read more

Summary-This is a glorified nail salon. I enjoy coming here for a manicure or pedicure. The massage was great. I would never get a facial here again. I was given a gift certificate for the El Bella Retreat which consisted of a 1 hour massage, european facial, manicure and pedicure. I was looking forward to my spa day. I got there and everyone was super friendly. First up was my massage. Typically when I have gotten a massage I'm taken to a dressing room with a locker so I can change and put my clothes, purse, etc in a locker. At El Bella I had to change in the room where I was given my massage. Not a big deal but when you go to a "day spa" you tend to have certain expectations. The massage was wonderful though. Very thorough and relaxing. The massage tech asked plenty of questions and did a great job. After the massage was done I put on a robe and carried all of my stuff to the facial room. This was the part that was most disappointing. The girl who gave me my facial didn't ask any questions. She just came in and started on my face. The worst part was when she took some metal tool and started digging for blackheads without warning. I've never experienced that before and it was quite painful. After her applying and removing several different creams she finished and I dressed. The manicure and pedicure were great. I received a gift certificate to El Bella for Mother's Day and finally got around to using it as an end of the year pamper day. My massage, facial and pedicure were fine, just your average services. By the time I got to my manicure they rushed to where my nails were streaked. I told the manager that my nails were not looking so good and a different lady fixed them. My original lady had already clocked out and left before I was done. They looked better however, the next day they were chipping and peeling off. I have been on vacation so I have just been relaxing around the house, no major rough work with my hands. I have not picked at the one bit but by now (3 days later) I only have 2 out of 10 fingers that have polish. I typically only do polish because it last but not at this place. The best in my opinion are Nancy, Hanna and the owner/operator Kimberly. I went in last Saturday right when they opened to get my nails powder dipped. I usually go to another salon but this one has such great reviews and I've received a pedi here before with no issues. Well, this last visit was disappointing :( She started using the drill on my nails (to remove prior dipping) and burned me 3 times from going way too fast. The third time I had to pull my hand away and cringed it hurt so bad! I get my nails dipped all the time and have never had that issue. I was so tense the rest of the time and getting your nails done is supposed to be relaxing. She then started doing the dipping and after the first coat entertained not doing a second! The first coat is always blotchy and uneven I was so surprised she said that! When I was done I walked to the front and they asked how it went and I said "just okay." The woman who did my nails was standing right there so it made it uncomfortable to be totally honest. They gave me a discount and said if I have issues to come back. I went to my car and in the sun they looked 5/10! Three of them had weird dents where the gel top coat didn't apply and some nails on the sides weren't even covered with color at all. I debated as I've never done this before but decided to go back in and show them. The owner was SO SWEET and took me back and redid all of them! If she hadn't been so kind I would leave a 2 star for sure. The owner made them look perfect but even still I would never go back. read more

I would give this salon a 0 if I could. Its so close to my house and I would love to enjoy it here but sadly this is not the case. Sadly this one star rating is not based on a one time experience, but every time that I have been. I have continued to go back to try and give them the benefit of the doubt and am disappointed each time. The last time I went I went with my mother. My husband got us two gift cards for the most deluxe mani and pedi they offer (such a kind thought and would never tell him about the experience) I specifically asked the lady before going back if a full set would be covered by my gift card and she said it would and I would have a dollar remaining. My mom asked if gel would be included and the same lady said yes with 3 dollars left over. The pedicures were fine but nothing special. I had to explain to the lady doing my nails multiple times what I wanted and she was very rude. Same goes with the lady who was "helping" my mom. Got moved over to the manicure and they didnt do any of the scrubs that were included in my gift card, and gave me a gel set which I said I did not want. I go to pay and the lady who told us what we wanted was included and that we would have money left said we owed $35!! Refused to take responsibility for telling us the wrong prices and started arguing about the prices in the middle of the nail area!! We had to ask her to go up front to discuss this. She was rude the entire time and couldn't be more uninterested. What an embarrassment and a rip off. Neither of us will ever be returning to el bella. read more

She treats you as if your the only person in the salon, takes her time to ensure the service is perfect, and meets all requests with ease. I truly enjoy going to her. I was coming in from out of town for a wedding. I wanted a full service salon. I booked a massage and paid for 90 minutes. What I got was a so-so massage and construction noise from next door, drilling, nailing, talking all during the massage. Why book massages if that will happen, at least could have told me beforehand. I then had my eyebrows waxes and she pulled part of skin off and I have scabs. Had a shampoo and blowout and the person told me she didnt do blowouts but was going to try!? Really? My mother in law and I went to the day spa as a retreat for my birthday. Everyone was extremely accommodating as we were running almost an hour late due to unforeseen "hiccups". I have never been so disappointed!!! Worst customer service I've ever experienced in my life. I just walked out and Im now sitting in another nail salon. I had a full set and pedicure and both were awful. The man doing my nails smeared my pinky when he was placing my sandal! When I asked if he would fix it he said no bc I did it not him!! My full set is terrible! The nails are all different lengths, shapes and sizes!!! I tried to show this to the woman who appeared to be running the show, she gave me attitude and said there was no one available to fix it at this time. I will never ever return to this place. She was very meticulous with my nails and took extra care when giving me my pedicure. I also had the opportunity to meet the owner (her name escapes me at the moment). What a sweet and kind person! I really enjoyed our conversation, she made me feel welcomed and I felt like I knew her for years. I wish them much success with the opening of their second day spa. I know that the former owners of La Bella (names are similar) had a bad reputation, I hope that anyone reading this gives this establishment a try. This is my second trip to this spa and it was just as great as the first time. I have only used their nail services so I can't tell you how hair services are. Both visits I had the VIP pedi and a regular mani. Michelle is the nail tech I had both times. She is great. Takes her time and doesn't rush like some places. I leave feeling refreshed and relaxed. I even talked my husband into getting a pedicure this time and he loved it. They even have a special area for guys that is out of the main area, so they can get pedis and not feel weird. My husband bought me a spa package from El Bella Day Spa for my birthday. I'm not a Salon Spa Snob by any means - but I was not impressed at all with the services. My facial was ok, my massage was ok nothing to write home about, my mani and pedi was just fine. What I am getting at is that if you want a completely sub-par spa experience then by all means go here. I would recommend springing for a few extra bucks and head over to a real spa. The last thing that took me by surprise was the unprofessionalism between the manicurists and the front desk staff. They were snapping back and forth between each other in front of customers. Very unprofessional and I felt awkward in that situation. For what was supposed to be a relaxing day - I did not end up leaving relaxed. I don't think I'll be back despite in being right around the corner from power ranch. read more
