I like doing sight seeing in my own town and summers in Washington are a great time to get outside to see outside features. They are usually very dry and hot... sometimes too hot for my tastes but the outings usually are fun. I was in the Fremont neighborhood to go look at the Fremont Bridge and came across El Camino. I was definitely wanting some Mexican food but wanted something light as I usually do when summer rolls around. El Camino was on my "To Try" list for a little while and I seized the opportunity to get a bite to eat before proceeding to the bridge. I got seated quickly which was great. In fact the service had a brisk pace throughout the whole meal and was always friendly which was a plus to the meal. For my meal I ordered two things. I got a beet salad or what they called the Ensalada De Betabel. This salad contained organic red beets, poblano peppers, avocado, red onion, cilantro, queso fresco, arugala and a lime vinaigrette dressing. The salad was wonderful!! I wanted a side dish as well because often times a salad just isn't enough. So I got grilled zucchini from their sides menu. Usually zucchini is cut into coin shapes but the way this side dish was served it was in long strips. Well, that didn't deter me in the slightest. The zucchini was amazing as well and just enough to make the meal feel satisfying. I would indeed make a point to come back here. The food was refreshing and unique from your usual Mexican fare which made it a memorable experience. read more

I've always enjoyed my meals at El Camino the servers aren't always perfect bit I've had worse. Had to ask for a refill on water twice before we received a new bottle but they were busy as usual. I usually go for the house salad and some tacos cause I love the house salad. I went with the ceviche this time tasted fresh and had great flavor wanted something light with the hot weather. Loved the bartenders we were one of the groups left when they were getting ready to close down but didn't make us feel rushed. I was attracted to this restaurant as I heard laughter from the back patio. It was colorful and so pretty. I sat back there but found the tables uncomfortably close together. The fire and decor was warm and friendly. But to pay $5 for chips was irritating. However the food overall was not expensive but there were some great looking dishes. I ordered two carnitas tacos. It took quite awhile and I received my dinner and was eating fish tacos! It didn't strike me till I was half way through the first taco. I then asked for the correct order. But BLECH the carnitas was mushy. If you like to drink and love atmosphere this is a great place. Just don't expect too much from the food. read more

While El Camino sells themselves for serving "authentic, homemade Mexican cuisine," it is definitely more like Americanized Mexican. My carnitas tacos tasted just alright. The meat wasn't very flavorful or tender. On the good side, the green salsa actually had a spicy kick, so it gave the carnitas tacos a bit flavor. The service was not good. We waited awhile to order the food. After taking our order, our server never came back. I could understand less contact during these covid times, but it was unacceptable that we had to wait so long to even get the check. She wasn't even the one that checked us out. We had to ask the host in the front to get us the check. We actually waited 30 mins to get seated, and after the meal, I would just say that it was not worth the wait. Love this spot! Great for rainy or sunny days. They've got a warm fireplace for rainy days and garage doors that opens to patios for sunny ones. Great kids menu and non-Mexican options for picky kids at brunch. Loved the classic rock playing. Awesome servers. We had the queso, hoping it would be like southern queso... it's not. That was "El Camion" - (note spelling) this is proof I am dumb. But back to El Camino: one of our party had a severe crustacean allergy and our El Camino friends were able to find creative solutions to help her. This is greatly appreciated! I think there was a charge for chips and salsa: these are hard times in Seattle. But I'm a fan of El Camino and if in the same situation (on foot in Fremont and fancying a bite) I would gladly return to El Camino. Came here for valentines day with my wife after having not been to El Camino for a while. The food is waaaay better than I remembered it on previous visits. My steak was perfectly cooked and spiced, and the bone marrow was delicious. My wife loved her Mole carnitas enchiladas. Her cocktail was fine (not fantastic), but it also wasn't a margarita (which is what they really excel at). All in all, this was one of the best meals we've had in Seattle in a while. This is the best Mexican restaurant in Seattle. If you're looking for authentic molé sauce and tangy homemade dishes, this is it. The food is delicious, that is a given.. However, the staff at El Camino exceeds expectations to accommodate the guests. A recent example was Cinco de mayo. As expected the restaurant was extremely busy. I didnt even notice the large crowd or feel rushed because the staff continued to provide outstanding, relaxed service with a smile. I made my way back to meet friends and was introduced to Fabian, an obvious shining star and integral member of the staff. It was evident from the door that my friends were having an extraordinary time. Both were smiling from ear to ear, gutturally laughing and enjoying every minute of the holiday. As soon as I joined them, Fabian greeted me kindly and before I could blink my delicious drink appeared! Fun was instantaneous! I wish I knew each individual name of the staff, but as mentioned I was lucky enough to interact with Fabian, and also Afredo and Chris. Based on their relaxed but professional nature it is evident that the job is enjoyable even on a busy holiday and what could have been chaos. In contrast, El Camino was filled with an excuburant large crowd enjoying the night. I returned immediately the following week and will he back for happy hour and dinner this week! read more

Gorgeous back patio, awesome drinks, and fun atmosphere. However, my 3 star review is really just a reflection of the quality of the food. Starting with the salsa, I felt that it lacked a kick and flavor. It just fell flat. This carried on into the rest of our meal as well. The food didn't taste bad it just wasn't flavorful. Holy beautiful bathroom. Whoever designed these rooms of rest definitely had women in mind... please don't go before you go to eat here, because they're beautiful. A room to yourself with lovely tile, and an entire wall that's a mirror. I also love the decor... old-school Mexicana.. and, as my friend Omar said: "My mom would love the tablecloths." Reviewing brunch that's it...otherwise it would get one less star. I love that El Camino started serving brunch their chorizo scramble has become one of my favorite breakfast items around. They are never crowded so if you want to meet with friends it's easy to get in, get served and sit around and talk with out people watching over you waiting for your tables. Oh and their pomegranate mimosa are a GREAT way to start your day. Go for breakfast don't bother for dinner and only go to the bar if you're into drunk frat boys. read more

Awesome patio in Fremont! The same great El Camino food with the best patio in Fremont! Hand. Down. The service was great. We were greater promptly, sat to a table, and had water within minutes. Everyone who interacted with our table was smiling and friendly! It was a quick work lunch so I didn't have a chance to try a lot of things. I had the shrimp tacos and they were great. You get 4 decent sized shrimp, about the size of a wrapping paper tube. They are lightly grilled and seasoned to perfection. If you're in the mood for Mexican and in Fremont- look them up. read more

We seemed to not have a waiter, maybe it was the gal from the bar with the curly hair, not sure. It was not busy and we were just left for ourselves. We did communicate with the manager and wrote a letter prior to coming on Yelp. No one responded to us. The fish and asada tacos were both excellent as were the house margaritas. A member of our party also had the shrimp burrito which was a generous portion and also very tasty. This place is pretty close to where I work, so it's a popular choice in the rotating restaurants around the Fremont area to choose from. I love the outdoor seating area that has a covered roof -- perfect for winter or summer! The margaritas are a solid choice here. I usually partake to the happy hours there, and it's a solid choice for around this area! I love getting the quesadilla (it's the perfect portion for me to have and try something else as well!) and it usually comes with guacamole, but I didn't get it the last time I went, unfortunately. A friend got the burrito, and for happy hour it was pretty small but filling. I definitely consider this a regular spot, and would recommend to anyone that's around the area! read more

One of my favorite places. I go back again and again for their Cadillac margaritas (my favorite drink, and they are strong!) and the mole steak with cheese enchiladas. That mole sauce is to die for. Spicy and rich with perfectly cooked steak and salty cheese in the enchiladas. Their guacamole is also wonderful with warmed chips and salsa. Can't go wrong with anything you get here, I live close by and go here 2-3 times a month. It's pretty consistent and I've had so wonderful waiters here. The atmosphere is dark and romantic, pretty quiet as well so it's a great place for a date. I've gone here for a bachelorette/bachelor party as well, so it's great for a large gathering, too. read more

Some of the best Mexican food in the World. I started off with chicken quesadillas which nearly made my mouth explode. They were great and were peppered with cilantro and lime and not oily like other places serve. My girlfriend had the menudo and it was pretty exciting. Just the right amount of spiciness and was rich in flavor, but not thick and nasty. It is an excellent way to start off your day and I recommend it to anyone. Double bonus for her since it was 1st time trying this soup. The chilaquiles with fried eggs on top were scrumptious and easily filled me up. I was happy to see they have freshly-squeezed OJ here too. Looking at the menu there are many selections to choose from and I could not believe it when I saw menudo being offered any day of the week. Came here after a movie and while i know their trucks well from around town, i guess i hadn't realized this was a different experience. Just wanted a bunch of tacos, and noticed they had "taco plates" that had rise and beans, etc. I said "i just want tacos...can i get 5 asada tacos?" and my GF got 3 of the same. When they came out, i was a bit put off as these were not the same tacos i got down the street after i got out of the bars 10 years ago. These ones only had one tortilla and cheese on top....and they were $6 EACH!!!! Bruh...what is this? Sure, the meat was actually really good, but i just wanted some street tacos that go for at least HALF this price. Then i realized...this is El CamiNO, not El CamiON. Went here with my Meetup Group. The fish tacos were the best I had in a long long time. A whole fish fillet with shrimp, grilled onions and beans/rice...and freshly made tortillas....it was really yummy. I was disappointed with the margarita for $9. It was weak and not very good. Should have stuck with the glass of wine. Everyone else at the table tried the mole enchiladas and all were happy with their choices. I'd go back! Loved walking around The Fremont too!! My friend's relatives took us to El Camino for a nice Saturday night dinner in the Fremont area of Seattle. They seated us next to the open windows, and with the weather being so stellar the weekend I visited Seattle, it was the perfect complement to a nice dinner with great company. I opted for the carne asada tacos and grabbed a margarita as my beverage. My friend's cousin made it a point to tell me that this was one of the few restaurants in the area that really got the Mexican food right - that it tasted like a home cooked meal and that its ambiance was fun. She was right - my tacos were really good and the margarita was spot on. Better yet, you could tell this place was legit because they served chilaquiles - which many restaurants don't get right at all. I wasn't expecting the most authentic experience. I was looking for a different restaurant in the same genre but it has been a few years and the place is gone so I ended up at El Camino. Plus, I was starving. The homemade Horchata was decent. I ordered chips and guacamole because I was so hungry. That was good too. The person serving me was either shy or not into serving me I don't know. He said my choice for entrée was great. Because I asked him if it was great. I got enchiladas with a special Molé sauce that promise to be spicy. Here's where the story begins. I never had a more bland enchilada and the mole was something my mother could make. Because my mother can't make a mole. The enchiladas were actually cold. Usually places heat them up on a big plate. We all know they're premade. However, you have to warm it up. And the place was extremely dark. The bar was clearly a highlight for clients. I will go back to El Camino unless it's the last restaurant after all the other restaurants, I like close. read more

They're doing takeout! Decent food but they get an extra star for having an incredible cleanliness and disinfecting policy in place. They disinfect your credit card when they give it back to you and have a cup for cleaned pens and used ones when you sign your check. You can also get margaritas and other booze to go! read more

I absolutely love the back patio. Heated lamps, outdoor fireplace, super cute decor. The food isnt authentic Mexican but super tasty. I tried the shrimp quesadilla which was crispy and served with guac. I love my quesadillas crispy. Also tried the veggie burrito, loved it. Its pumpkin based, slightly sweet and drenched with a red sauce. The flan was a nice a finish. Overall love this place and will come back especially for the cute outdoor seating. read more
