This is a family favorite for sure. We enjoy the food and the restaurant is always bright, clean and inviting. The wait staff are always friendly and very attentive. The fajitas are great, the chila quiles are tasty, the pina loca is a great way to get a taste of everything. Steak, Chicken, shrimp and bacon all in the same dish. Great stuff! Portions are decent and the prices are in line with other local spots.

So when we walked in the lady acted like we were asking a huge favor to sit at the bar for a drink. She seemed to really be agitated. So she brought menus and left. She called Ava to say you have a table. The chips and salsa were ok. Ava made us feel like she was being told what to do. Snatched back our silverware and menus as if we were gonna?????? Margarita was good. The entire situation was awkward. Won't return. The best thing was this beautiful bathroom sink.

Sunday 5 pm visit: very satisfying. Service arrived instantly, drinks quickly followed, meal super fast and delivered hot. I had a combo dinner plate. It is often dangerous to order a Chile tells no but IMHO that is how you can tell great places. Plus these vary widely. It had a fair amount of heat in the pepper but was nicely balanced with a pale white cheese and green sauce. Different and good. The steak tops taco was different and the cheese enchilada prepared to order. Rice and beans decent. Too full for dessert, and prices reasonable. Wish I could have sampled some guacamole but too pricey for me by myself. Complimentary salsa and chips were not exceptional. Mexican music and sports on several screens. Have selection of beers and alcoholic beverages.

This is our happy place! My husband and I have been coming here for YEARS and we feel like we're a part of the family! We're regulars, so they know who we are when we walk in the door! First off- the staff is incredible! I mean, INCREDIBLE!Everyone who works here makes you feel like you've known them forever-- SO friendly and inviting! Estela, Claudia, Antoni... they're like our segunda familia :) Bonus- the food is fantastic! Their menu features all the amazing Mexican cuisine that you'd expect from a place like this. No pre-made anything. Everything they create is prepared in-house, with slow-cooked recipes that have been simmering all day. The addition of fresh and seasonal fruits, veggies, and lettuces is a plus. They don't skimp on portion size, and everything is made with love! We're kind of obsessed with their wide selection of margaritas and tequila shots :) I always choose the jumbo-sized frozen marg with sangria & salt rim-- absolutely delightful! They're ENORMOUS!! And worth every penny! We will never stop coming here-- because the service, food, and atmosphere is top notch! I can't say enough good things about El Cerro, so if you're in the Hartland area, do yourself a favor and stop in for some great Mexican yummmmm!

El Cerro Grande what is one of to authentic Mexican restaurants in Hartland proper off of M 59. The wait staff is very pleasant. Does not seem to comprehend too much English. I'm attacking that ground beef enchilada first..... it is delicious. The tortilla is fresh and warm the mouth feeling very good, it tastes great and it's got the Mexican cheese sprinkled on top which gives it a little bit of tang. Now, I'm to the chili relleno- which is cheese. Oh my gosh its fabulous. The Relleno has a bit of a brownish tinge in flavor to it like it's been placed under the broiler and the chili is fresh and very tasty. Looks like I should've eaten my crispy beef taco first as it's a bit soggy! That doesn't mean it has no flavor, the beef is just perfectly spiced within the taco shell. This place is great!!! AAA for service AAA for flavor AAA for temperature food and quality of food as well. Highly recommend get your Mexican food fix here.... And then go to the other place ultimately because it's equally as good!!!

The Food is Fresh, Authentically Mexican, and Delicious The Drinks are abundant and Flavorful as Well. A great place to Meet Friends and/or Dine with Your Whole Family! The Staff is knowledgeable, Helpful and very Friendly as well. I would definitely Recommend this place. It's Clean and Colorful:)

She got our drinks out quickly (knowing we needed them lol) and took care of the kiddos too. The portions are very big here and I took about half of my food home and enjoyed it later. It feels like we are clubbing in here. Can't have a conversation really. The corn chips are not fresh, could be better if they were freshly made. I want the chips to be good. The elote seems to be mixed with the queso, which is really runny. It tastes better, but could be thicker. The guacamole is average, not a lot of flavor to it. Main food orders in after about 15 minutes after we were seated. The flautas are super dry, the chicken that is. The chicken isn't even jerky like, just bark like burnt. The lobster quesadilla tastes rather interesting. On closer examination after the odd texture of the lobster, it had the strangest layers to it, reminds me of the Krab. Something quite odd about their lobster for sure, comes across to me as imitation meat. Hard to describe how weird it was to me, has completely left me at a loss and utterly confused. Meat doesn't have the chew I expected at all, mostly disintegrated in my mouth without biting it and the odd layers really threw me off exceedingly. My husband asked our waitress about the nature of the lobster meat to Nikki. She asked the kitchen if the lobster meat in the quesadilla and enchiladas was real lobster meat. The kitchen of course said yes, it is. I wouldn't have expected anyone to say the lobster meat was imitation though. Such a strange meal and experience tonight.

El Arbol is definitely a cool spot visually, and I really wanted to love it based on all the great…read morereviews. Unfortunately, the atmosphere was much better than the food for us. The restaurant itself is bright, colorful, clean, and really well designed. I loved the clever bench seating, the bar was well stocked, and there's outdoor seating plus an upstairs area that looked really cool. They also have a walk-up taco window outside, which is a fun idea. We sat in the bar area, and the service was amazing. Everyone was friendly and attentive. The food, though, was really underwhelming. Almost everything we tried lacked seasoning and flavor. I ordered the chicken enchiladas, which had very little chicken and were pretty bland. I did like the very thinly sliced jalapeños on top. The rice was nice and fluffy but didn't have much flavor, and they serve black beans, which just aren't my preference with Mexican food. The house-made salsa was surprisingly sweet, and I was disappointed that the chips didn't seem house-made. If I'm going out for Mexican food, fresh chips are one of those little things I really look forward to. My husband ordered tacos at $6 each, which felt pretty steep considering we're used to excellent tacos in the $2-$3 range. His carne asada was cooked closer to medium rare, which wasn't what we expected at all from carne asada. The queso was another disappointment. It tasted very similar to Rico's cheese sauce you can buy at the grocery store. Overall, great service, great decor, very clean and a fun atmosphere, but the food just didn't match the setting or the reviews for us. At these prices, I expected a lot more flavor. Unfortunately, we left pretty disappointed.
