3 combo plate, 2 shredded beef tacos and a chile relleno, beans and rice p.s. My husband took a bite of my rice before this pic was taken :)
Gail L.

This is our third time coming here and it never disappoints! My husband and I were seated quickly and we were given chips and salsa to enjoy. I ordered my favorite combo plate (2 shredded beef tacos and a chile relleno that was bigger than my face). It comes with beans and rice. The rice was fluffy and flavorful and the beans were yummy and covered with cheese (as it should be...all hail to the Cheese). My husband got his favorite carne asada burrito, and it was pretty big for only $11.00. We barely started on our second bowl of chips and salsa when Alfredo brought out our food. Yum yum and some more yum. Yummy all day. Did I mention it was yummy? The total bill was $29.09 without the tip. And we have the 2 tacos, beans and rice and half a burrito for dinner. Quick and friendly service, check. Yummy authentic Mexican food, check. Great value for your money, check. Keep up the great work El Charro! We will keep coming back.

Check out their website! It's called BOMB.com. You're welcome. Their chips and salsa are the best in town! So good.

Every time I come here they don't have rice or shredded beef tacos. How does a Mexican restaurant always run out of rice?

I didn't want to skimp on taste, or authentic flavors. This was our first time entering La Cocina Grill. We were immediately greeted by Janet, she was very warm and welcoming. As I often say, it's that first impression that does it for us. We were able to choose our own seating. Opened space seating with gorgeous art work on the walls. Wheel chair accessible, not crowded or confined. I normally enjoy chili that can burn your soul. However, what they lacked in heat, they far surpassed on flavor. Besides with my diet changes heat is not something I should be eating at this time :) So this restaurant was definitely what my body needed. {IMPORTANT} a semi hotter chili available upon request. My spouse enjoyed the vegetable omelet however, did not enjoy the French fries that came with it, would have rather had either Spanish rice or potatoes, the plate did include black beans which were super delicious. My spouse did truly enjoy the food tremendously. I ordered the spinach and mushroom vegetable enchilada plate which I too requested the black beans, it also included Spanish rice. Although, it was missing avocado slices, my personal favorite, and also a suggestion it would have been more amazing. I must state this dish did not lack in flavor, presentation and overall deliciousness. I will definitely will be ordering this dish again. Yes!, I promise it was that good. It's not bad, it just lost some of what made it stand out. The food is still really solid though, which is why I keep coming back. The aguachile is one of the best things on the menu, super fresh with a good kick, and the tacos are consistently done right. Simple, clean, and you know what you're getting every time. It's a nice sit-down restaurant if you want to actually relax and eat instead of rushing through a meal. Service is usually solid even when it's busy. Fair warning, it gets packed after church and the wait can build up quick, so timing matters if you don't want to sit around. Not the same as it used to be, but still worth it for the food.

Tacos & Beer has definitely changed, and not for the better. The service was mediocre -- the person…read moretaking our order was very soft-spoken, hard to hear, and pretty short with us. The food was honestly a hard 5 out of 10. The beans and chips were very good, but that was the highlight. It was just my husband and me: I got one shredded beef taco with a side of beans, he got three tacos, and we had two drinks total. The bill came out to $33 and some change, which just didn't feel worth it for the quality. I really wish it lived up to the Tacos & Beer I remember. Even the ambiance wasn't as vibrant as it used to be.

You can tell every meal is cooked with love and intention ... hearing that the meat cooked for 8 hours... you know it's bomb. I've had regular meals like the skinny omelet, fries and homemade tortillas. Have also had the Albondigas and Verde Chilaquiles con Birria which were amazing!! Your can't go wrong here! Don't miss out

My husband & I decided to try this place only based on the pics posted on Yelp. They looked great,…read moreso why not. We did not read reviews so we can have an open mind. First I'll mention all the positive things & then the not so good things. As we walked in & took a seat-we were greeted nicely & asked if we wanted a cafecito de olla. My husband said yes & it quickly came out. It was delicious, he said it took him back to his youth. We had small talk with the our waitress, she was very friendly & hospitable. I ordered their red & green chilaquiles, came with beans & some chopped potatoes. I have no complaints, it was delicious- although the green sauce was my favorite. The red had a little too much comino (cumin) flavor for my liking. Loved the fresh chopped onions, it added a great layer of flavor. My husband ordered their chorizo plate that comes with chopped potatoes & homemade tortillas. He said it did not disappoint. Although he would have preferred some beans. They have a TV that showed pics of a lot of their food & we were excited to return to try them out. They also had music playing and sounded nice. The ambiance was nice, and appreciated the table in the center of the place having a bunch of individual baked goods for sale. We picked 2 to go even though it was a little hard to choose because it all looked great. Oh also our waitress came out to our vehicle & offered us a freshly baked (from that morning) piece of coffee cake. That was so nice of her & we appreciated it very much. Now the reason we aren't giving them 5 stars. Not a deal breaker because we still want to return but their prices are way too high to come as often as we would like. So to make it clear, everything we ordered for 2 people came to $77. (It included the 3% fee for paying w/ a CC & tip). I just wished my husband would have asked for a receipt so I could have known the cost (specifically) of everything like the 2 baked goods & if they charged for the second refill of the cafecito my husband asked for. I mean if one cost $4.75 you would think refills would be included. But dang, that's insane. So all in all, we want to return & try almost everything on their menu. We just need to space out our visits. We wish them success with their business.
