After I caught a male employee reusing dirty paper plates to cut the meat and put it on a taco shell. I realize that I have been containing millions of germs since I have been eating taco shells, burritos, and other foods . They were ok. I drive by this place daily and decided to finally stop for lunch one day with my husband. It looks like they do a lot of catering as they had a TON of catering boxes stacked up inside. Those big plastic rolley ones that keep food hot. Anyways, I got chicken tacos. They had decent flavor but just felt like something was missing. Maybe it was because I saw an old menu which had chicken taquitos on it and they weren't offering them anymore, so perhaps the tacos were overshadowed by my disappointment. read more

My adult sons recently visited Chef Taco where they experienced unwarranted rudeness, and customers were being served based on their appearance rather than on a fair basis. They spoke Spanish and insulted them not being aware that they can understand even if they look white. This discriminatory practice is disheartening and goes against the principles of good customer service. I believe it's essential for the establishment to address these concerns to ensure a welcoming and inclusive environment for all customers. Just came to this location. When I first walked in the place it looked dirty. I ordered a shrimp and a fish taco. As I sat down,saw the chef open a frozen bag of shrimp and cooked my shrimp. They had no flavor.The fish had a weird after taste. Was definitely not fresh. Needles to say my tacos were drenched in oil so I threw it all away and left. No Masks......? This place is a gooooooood taco spot when you're on the go. The times I've been here the meat is fresh and doesn't have any kind of funky smells. The sauces they provide are very flavorous and not watered down. The only down side is that one of the main "cooks", if you will, doesn't wear his mask while taking orders or while handling food. El Chef Tacos is the latest eatery to reside at Beach and Hazard, you can't miss it, it's on the east side next to that awful Popeye's. I really liked the décor of the place, and was immediately greeted by a friendly server. I noticed that the food was sitting in serving trays and started to make a decision, to which the server guided me toward the Baracoa for a protein. We ordered the following: Street Baracoa tacos: 3 stars, 2 stars for the flavor, and an extra star for the portion size: I thought these were just ok. I liked the portion size; I appreciated it since I could tell the server hooked them up a bit. The meat was dry to me; thankfully the server gave us a container of broth to use for our tacos. I got the fixings on the side, but again the tacos were ok, not sure that I would order that again. Chicken quesadilla: 4 stars, 3 stars for the flavor, and an extra star the portion size. I really liked how they had the quesadilla filled up with chicken, and they provided lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. I would order this again for sure. Overall I would say this experience is just OK. I know of plenty of places that prepare your food when you order, and I am starting to really taste the difference. I have been driving by this place a Few times now, but finally decided to come in. Small little restaurant, nothing too special aesthetically but the foods is awesome. I hesitated at first and only ordered a few items to test the water but ended up buying almost $50 worth of tacos and fries for my family. So full, I think my belly is about to explode lol. The side of Guac was only $2 so I should have known it would not be good. The salsa bar was good I tried all their salsa and like the green the best. The chips were out of a bag I am sure! The Tacos...well they were on regular sized tortillas and the 2 Asada Tacos were ok...2 stars for them! The real issue I had was with the Chicken Taco...I could bot believe my eyes. It was my first time trying this place and honestly I would never go back to it . The restaurant was really dirty and the customer service was horrible for me . The soda machine was filthy , the tables were not cleaned and the floor was greasy making it slippery . I ordered two burritos and one of them was made wrong when I went back to mention the mistake the employee had a BAD attitude about having to make it again. On top of that he was moving around the trash can beforehand and he didn't even think to wash his hands in between before making the burrito again . This was my first time here. Upon entering, it is actually quite confusing how you order. Rather than having a go-as-you-order setup (Like Chipotle or Chronic Tacos), you are prompted to make your complete order at the cash register. This is confusing based on how the restaurant is organized. One part of the ordering that I found bothersome was that the cashier asked me, "Black beans or Pinto beans?" to which I responded, "Pinto."However, they do not mention that the beans are "Refried Beans." These are not the same; please specify them. I order a burrito with everything. Also, they do not ask whether the food is to eat at their establishment or to go. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant is frigid, some typical Latino radio station is playing but nothing special. You have a clear view of the kitchen and how your food is being prepared. One thing that caught my eye was that the tortillas they use are essentially low grade, low tier, run-of-the-mill, genetic tortillas, really crappy quality. When the employee was preparing my food, they proceeded to touch their face and glasses while handling my food (without gloves), disgusting. In addition, the employee was not wearing a hairnet or hat as FDA's Food Code requires. The approximate waiting time was about 8 minutes to receive my food. Upon receiving my burrito, I saw that it did not have any girth (thickness) to it. When taking the first bite, I realized two things: the meat had absolutely no taste and there was way too much onion. For the same price of $8-$9, you can get a much better burrito from Sabrosada, Chipotle, etc. I won't be coming back. read more

If you are a fan of Electronic Aguila Taqueria on Westminster and Newland you're going to love it! Lots of familiar faces behind the counter. The food is really good, but the service is bad. My boyfriend and I came in confused since it was our first time. We did not get helped or welcome until we figured out how to order by ourselves. The price is decent, but there's extra charges for different types of meat & toppings. I think the sour cream was like an additional $1 The portiom of the bowl is perfect for me.
