Clearly this place is making huge cut backs even on quality, I ordered a breakfast "huevo a a la Mexicana" and a large horchata, they are using cheap foam plates instead of restaurant dishes, plastic forks and really cheap napkins, when tasting the water it wasn't good and I asked for a soda instead "coke" and the lady charges me $2.79 more to the $10.50 total $13.29 for the meal, sucks that a hidden gem in town has turned into a sinking business trying to maintain, if this keeps up they will definitely lose a lot of costumers read more

Chile relleno burrito: massive and stuffed with cheesy fried chile relleno. lots of beans and carbs to put you right to sleep. as if the burrito was not enough, super nachos with carnitas: a heaping box of fresh tortilla chips topped generously with refried beans, sour cream, guac, and cheese. delicious but I would say too much food! a hole in the wall place that can easily be missed. read more

This place has a B rating!!!!! I can't see how a place that isn't clean could get such high reviews? My co-workers and I tried this place on a whim and decided to eat inside the restaurant. What a mistake. It was super hot inside, there's only one table in the corner a few low barstools on one side. The salsas were hanging on the wall in a makeshift salsa bar. I'm sure they weren't being kept cold properly, and the utensils that you use are much too big for the tiny cups that you serve yourself with. Why am I telling you this? Well because its impossible to fill the container without spilling salsa on your hands, so some will touch your hands and then fall back in the container. And that, my friends is disgusting! I was being super careful and it still happened.. Besides being wicked hot in there, the place just felt super dirty. The menu board was super greasy and faded looking. The food was served on a styrofoam place with a fork and knife sticking out of it. The burrito mojado was just okay. The rice was dry. The salsa had too much lemon and the other ones weren't good. They tasted like they used dry seasonings instead of real garlic. This place is seriously overrated and I won't be coming back. We have been going here for years. Food is great and flavorful. Friendly staff that is accommodating. Take cash or there is a charge (i think it was $1) for using card. Not a place for dine in (although pre-covid there were a few seats) but a great place for take out. One of the best taco places in Downey. read more

You know the food is great. It's amazing actually but the attitude of the last that occasionally claims to be manager with glasses is just rude. I tried to call in an order and she started taking an order while I was on the phone. I also asked for her name and she did not want to tell me. But anyways moving on. Every time I call to place an order the price is different and I order the same thing every single time. They often get my order wrong but I kept trying to give them a chance. They have not always been this way. I have been going there at least once a month for the past 8 years...maybe even 9-10 years. But lately they are failing. The only reason I returned today is because last night when I ordered they got my order wrong. I didn't ask for any free food all I did was go in to reorder my same burrito so that it can be made the correct way. But then I had to deal with her irritating annoying attitude. It's not becoming at all especially if you are the gate keeper of a restaurant the manager of a restaurant. I really hope they get it together or find another manager because from now on I won't call him or not I'm going to go in and if by any chance I'm wasting gas I won't place an order with her I refused to place an order with her she gets my orders wrong every time and it makes no sense at all. This place should be a Downey landmark. I have been coming here for years and I love the food at this place! As everyone knows, the Super Burrito is amazing! I always get the Carnitas... Ths Super Nachos are awesome too, same size as the burrito but with chips! The Super Quesadilla is the same too! When they say Super they mean it... Ive seen people eating breakfast when I stumble in after a hard night of partying, and they look awesome too. One lady had a nice chorizo and egg plate and she was going to town! They charge about $2 extra for using credit card. And don't tell customers about it. When I ask the old lady at the register about the charge she go nervous . I didn't like their service, the female cashier does not have customer service. I had ordered a torta and two tacos to go. I had told them in my order that I didn't want hot sauce on any of my food. When I got home I started eating my torta and sure enough there was hot sauce on it. It's not that spicy it's just the principal that when someone places an order, they need to be careful on what they are serving you. My tacos were just like I had ordered it but they dropped the ball on the torta. The torta is not well done, when you get it out of the wrapper it starts to fall apart. I had other tortas in other places and they don't get like the ones they serve here. I called the woman at the front to tell her that they had messed up my order and she said " bring it back and I will yell at the cook." She said it in a sarcastic manner as if she was the boss. She's not the boss, it's a family own place they all know each other. If you want great food try Alberts located on Imperial and Old River School. Food is ok, the service is horrible the girls are rude and are completely incapable of taking an order. But believe me, they will not miss anything when charging.
