The guy working was pretty efficient and accommodated our request of no cream cheese. Overall, it filled a craving, but I wouldn't say I'm running back to get another one.

I've eaten at El Chito for years, and they're the best tamales I've ever had. I keep trying others now and then, but nothing else comes close. The owner, Marlo, is personable, cheerful, and very responsive to customer feedback; he made vegan tamales after myself and others requested them, and they're amazing! He's always coming up with delicious new flavors and side dishes too. You'd be hard pressed to find a better or more satisfying meal! His stand is always colorful and inviting, and you can find him all over the place. Don't forget to try the jimaica and horchata when he has it! read more

I've had my share of Tamales but El Chito Tamales take the #1 spot! Was just at the farmers market in Tacoma and I happened to snag the last two they had left. By the time I ate my two Tamales on site, while marinating them in habanero sauce, I saw 15 other customers faces of disappointment once they found El Chito was sold out. I even had a cute lady ask for a taste since she'd traveled from Seattle. I couldn't let her down. Best Tamales hands down! read more

I never ate Tamales with masa like El Chito.The tamales are big and soft. More importantly they are filled with stuff, unlike other tamales which are mostly masa with little meat. The salsa'a are sooooo good!!! The guy asked me to try the white salsa on my tamale which I would never do on my own, he was so right!!! Actually they are the best tamales in Town. I have tried most of the flavors, I love vegan as well as the meat ones, all of them delicious, nutritious and the most important for me, very well balanced.
