This is now my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I always get the Camarones a la Diabla- shrimp and onions sauteed in a spicy red sauce, served with corn tortillas, lettuce, tomatoes, guacamole, and sour cream with beans and rice on the side. It's only 8.95, so you can't beat that. Instead of the typical chips and salsa that most restaurants bring you El Cielo brings a really tasty bean dip and chips that is a nice change of pace. Oh, and the salsa bar is great! It includes pico de gallo, a hot red salsa, a roasted green salsa, and roasted and marinated whole jalapenos that are to die for. The beer and margaritas are good and reasonably priced as well. The service has always been good. No problems there. Have been going here for years. Stopped in last week and had the medium combination- this is a great deal where one can choose three items plus it comes with beans and rice - topped and smothered in chili (hot or medium). The hot chili is not super hot, but nice flavor. Everything here is home made. My sister had a margarita- actually three of them, I tasted and they were great. Also, chips and bean dip provided, one may also go to the "salsa bar" and pick different kinds of salsas. Love the service, never wanted for anything, food was hot and fresh, ambiance was great! Food is good, not very warm, and the SERVICE is horrible. Went last Friday night and had to wait 40 minutes before we asked for beans and chips. Took another 30 minutes to get anyone to ask what we wanted to drink. Seriously disappointed today. We hadn't been in since they moved to this new location, but friends kept saying they were one of their favorites sooo we decided to give them another shot. We were seated promptly and the waitress took our drink order for two ice teas and once she took our food order - poof! We NEVER saw her at our table again. Someone else brought us chips and bean dip and even stopped to refill the chips (I prefer salsa, but the beans were a different option). Another person delivered our food. No one stopped at our table again. When we finished eating I called over a waitress who was working very hard and frequented all her tables several times. I asked her to bring us our check. We took the check to the cashier and this new waitress took our money. I put a big fat frowny face where the tip should have gone and handed this new waitress cash and said. You are the hardest working waitress here. Don't share this with the other gal. I don't know where our waitress disappeared to. My guess she was flirting with a cook or dishwasher and couldn't be bothered to do her job. The food was average. The lettuce tasted old and the guacamole and sour cream were skimpy. Large portion of uninspired food. Didn't want a to go box. Why bother. Unlikely to return. There are far tastier Mexican Restaurants in Greeley. read more

I'm a very regular customer as well as manager at a company that frequently uses el cielo for catering our company wide meetings, but after the treatment I received tonight I will NEVER go back! We were told our wait would be 30 minutes and after waiting patiently for an hour and a half with a hungry two year old, 3 large tables opened up and we asked why we weren't being seated the manager told us that since we waited over an hour they weren't going to seat us because we might take it out on the server!!! I worked many years in the restaurant industry and I'm appalled that a manager would treat a customer this way. I hope the owner realizes who they have running their restaurant and what they are doing to their business. By the conversations of multiple other people in the waiting area it sounded like we weren't the only ones the manager was treating this way. Luckily we were able to go across the street, get a table in 10 minutes and were treated with respect. I will go out of my way to tell everyone I know about the experience and tell them about the treatment we received. read more

Started with the bean dip which was a tasty start. Then ordered the guacamole which was good and fresh. Finished with the fish tacos which were very disappointing. It was like eating frozen fish sticks on a corn tortilla. I wish that was explained better on the menu. We ordered 2 orders of fish tacos...almost no sauce at all VERY DRY and tasteless. 1 order of 4 steak tacos....the steak was dried out and chewy no seasoning we could taste. . 1 burrito that the meat tasted bland with no seasoning. 2 orders of chili cheese fries with half and half green chili that were EXCELLENT. sadly a huge waste of money just to get 2 orders of great chili cheese fries. After hearing so much about this place, I had to taste it for myself. So, their new place is a nice atmosphere but for me the food was not very good. I really do not like smothering that is thick like gravy (too much flour) and tastes pasty to me. The salsa's were not very good. Tonight, we were waiting to be seated, along with about 3 other groups, when some men came in, obviously friends of one of the waitresses, and they were allowed to be seated in front of the rest of us. I immediately told the host to remove our name from the list. There was no offer to get the manager or to try to rectify the situation for the people that had been waiting. Upon leaving the restaurant, to go somewhere else, I did call and spoke with the manager. I have been a waitress, and have served family & friends, but they waited their turn to be seated, like everyone else. This was unacceptable! read more

This place is great! The food is extremely authentic and great tasting. My favorite dish is the Lingua Chimichanga, and my wife likes the Barbacoa Chimichanga. It is very difficult to properly prepare and cook Lingua, and their cooks are very skilled with it. The Lingua (tongue) literally will put fillet mignon to shame. Knowing how easy it is to mess up, we asked for a sample of the Lingua and Barbacoa, and to our surprise they brought both out before we ordered. The portions are very large, and I'd recommend sharing plates between two people. If you're looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant that's well priced, El Cielo is the place! read more

I would like to have written a review of the food but they were crowded on independence day but they said it would be 15-20 minutes so we waited. After seeing 2 parties seated of five people in their party(same as us ) and knowing they came in after us then a party of 6 and we asked and they said we should be soon now 50 minutes later we desided to leave and will never be back. I am a chef at a mexican resturant in Fort Collins, Colorado, and let me tell you what, this place is the REAL DEAL. El Cielo gets 5 stars on their food alone. The chicken chimichanga is absolutely amazing, and the rice is moist and delicious. The green chili is to die for and is the best green chili I've ever had. The guacamole is different, but has a nice smooth crisp spice to it. The strawberry margarita was AMAZING. Can't beat these prices anywhere in Northern Colorado. read more

My wife and I like the food here. She enjoys the burrito supreme with shredded beef. I like any of the dishes with the alambre meat. We get the food to go frequently as sometime the service can be slow to refill your drinks. Other than that, great food and I would recommend it. read more

Went to El Cielo on Sunday March 26, 2017.. A party of 13 near the back bar and First time impression, not good at all! We were really craving menudo and it tasted old, like it had been reheated several times for a couple of weeks.. Sent that back and ordered an enchilada plate, when I took a bite of the enchiladas the plate was warm but enchiladas tasted like they had been left out to cool for a bit.. My husband couldn't finish his menudo, which he still had the taste of the following day at work.. Chips and a side of bean dip was really good! Our waitress was really nice, but took a really long time bringing us our drinks. We ordered micheladas and she put extra drinks on 2 of our tickets that we did not order. Just Maybe, we'll give El Cielo a try again, next time though with a smaller party, so that the waitress can do a better job at handling us. Food and service I'll give 1 star, Chips and bean dip I'll give 3 stars, all together I think I'll settle with 2 stars! read more

Amazing Mexican food and especially for the prices. Wife and I can eat under 10$ and be plum full walking out of there. The street tacos are unbelievable. Try to steak with peppers and bacon. My boyfriend and I ate at this restaurant for the first time because of all the amaizing reviews I read here. When we first walked in and sat down I was reminded of eating at a beachside cantina in Mexico. I really liked the laid-back atmosphere but the food we got was just so-so. I ordered the ceviche tostadas and have to say that there ceviche is far from good. I ordered two fish and one shrimp. The shrimp ceviche wasn't bad but the fish ceviche was terrible. I don't know what they made it with but it was very sweet; yuk! My boyfriend ordered a beef and bean smothered burrito and it was pretty tasteless. Their beans are very bland and their ground beef didn't seem to be seasoned at all; it just tasted like bland beans and plain ground beef wraped in a tortilla. They do have a pretty big menue and their prices on food and drinks are unbeatable so we are willing to give them another try. If you know what true, authentic Mexican food tastes like go to Casadores, they are by far the best Mexican restaurant in town! read more

We stopped on a Saturday about lunchtime. There were kinda busy but we were seated quickly....had not been there for a while, but it was a great experience.
