    Carne Asada tacos

Food was quick and so tasty. Tastes authentic! Definitely recommend! The service was nice and had a relaxed feel inside. Can pick whatever toppings you want for your tacos with three different salsa options.

In a rather nondescript location in the rear of a gas station convenience store you will, possibly, find El Coyote Charro and it was as good as all the hype on Yelp reported. It is a fast food, order at the counter, and have a seat at one of the plastic and Formica booths kind of place, just the way I like it. The place was very clean, kitchen included, but the cashier was not very engaging, although he brought my food to me without delay. My order was simple, three Carne Asada Tacos and one Al Pastor Taco (marinated, sliced pork - all $1.79/each) as well as an order of Guacamole and Chips ($3.75). The tacos had mucho meat, tender and delicious, having added cilantro, onion, and salsa from the relish bar. They also have a kettle full of FREE hot charro beans, so make sure to ask for a cup. The guacamole was also very good and they even fried the large order of fresh tortilla chips while I waited. I do not give out 5-star ratings willy-nilly, but I could find little to downgrade at El Coyote Charro except for the lack of enthusiasm of the staff and the fact that I could not buy a beer or margarita to enjoy along with my wonderful $12 meal ... Pretty good. We came here after a soccer tournament. We tried tacos, quesadilla and burritos. We also tried their rice, beans, chips and salsa. The quesadilla was a little too cheesy. I honestly didn't think I've ever say this, but maybe my tastes have started to change. I had to eat around the top half and couldn't eat the bottom portion. Just too greasy for me. My kids liked their asada and pollo tacos and my husband liked his carnitas burrito. All said most things were good. Their cowboy beans were good, especially with the salsa bar toppings! Everyone liked the chips and salsa, the chips were a little too greasy for me-there I go again, middle age digestive issues! The service was decent, no bathroom inside so be prepared to walk about a block down the strip-mall! Overall I would recommend it to anyone looking for Mexican street food!

This employee was extremely rude in every interaction

I am writing of my experience to warn other diners of the terrible service and unethical business practices of this restaurant. The wall of this restaurant has a huge menu painted on the wall (including prices). There were no paper menus, just the wall menu. We ordered our food and waited for our number to be called. While waiting, a glance at my receipt showed that I was overcharged for the items I ordered. The tacos are listed on the menu for $1.79, the chips and salsa for $2.89. I was charged $1.99 for the tacos and $3.99 for the chips and salsa. I approached the employee to ask about the discrepancy and she just shrugged her shoulders and told me the menu prices were all wrong and there was nothing she could do-- "it's just like that" is what she told us. It is not only unacceptable to misrepresent the prices on the menu, the employee's rude response was uncalled for. It is not unreasonable for a customer to ask about pricing errors, and when they exist, employees should not respond rudely. I was extremely polite about it, her poor attitude was unnecessary. This employee (see photo) was not even friendly when we ordered, and was downright rude when we asked why we were charged incorrectly. It is safe to say that she should not be in any role where she customer-facing. If this restaurant cannot run their business in a way that is honest and courteous to those they serve, then it's time to close up shop.

I got the Asada Fries and they where amazing! I've never had Mexican food with French Fries and it is a great combination. They have a salsa bar with onions, cilantro and lemons. The service is slow and the restaurant feels like a dive but El Coyote Charro is worth the visit. I'll definitely be back. From the outside this place looks like a dive but it's absolutely worth it.

Stopped in for lunch while visiting. It was quite busy, and crowded. Not limiting capacity or enforcing masks at all. I got three mulitas with chorizo and al pastor which were both delicious. My partner also tried the tacos and liked them. I would definitely return to try other items--I only took a star off because it didn't feel very safe given the current pandemic and no safety measures seemed to be enforced.

Pretty nice spot. As other reviews mentioned, the meat is a bit dry. However, the grilled onions with the tacos made the meal so much better. I will be thinking about those onions for a long time.

    Carnitas Mulita, no salsa needed!

Doesn't look like much from the outside but, do it! The Mulita is like a taco / quesadilla. The carnitas mulita is fantastic. The taste of fried cheese is aMazing! Variety of salsas! The al pastor etas buena! You know it's too od when there are a bunch of paisanos eating inside! Provecho!

We came in hungry, craving for some authentic Mexican food and this place did not disappoint us in any way. I can't say anything but good food, the best Pastor we've tried, we're from Chicago and have tried multiple places but this by far is the best we've tried. Their Agua Frescas are great too, to our surprise they just started serving home made ice cream. The Owner is very accommodating and friendly. Superb food & service.

Good food for a good price. This little hole-in-the-wall is a fun place to get street tacos. While our party wasn't blown away by anything, and the chicken was a bit dry, it was good enough to come back again in the future. I would recommend the carne asada fries!

    Matt L.

Wow Mulitas for days! Seriously awesome Pastor and Carne Asada! Throw in any of the salsas and you'll have a happy palate and tummy. Add Agua (de fresa) or una Coca to cap it off Don't forget the free-joles ;)

But let's not get ahead of ourselves! If possible, the SERVICE might be the best part of the whole experience. Yes, I said experience. They are that kind, attentive, and intent in making your meal their top priority. There is no pandering for a tip, the staff truly loves where they work and what they serve. They're so gosh darn nice! Trust me. Head in and you'll know what I'm talking about. You walk away sounding like your sweet grandma, " that waiter was sooo niiice Ralf!) Back to the food. We ordered the "surf and turf" burrito. GET THE RICE AND BEANS!! So this big boy is loaded in and out with tender meats: shrimp, steak and chicken. And it's drenched in the sauce. Shudder! The SAUCE!! My toes curl just thinking about it. Save some chips for scooping it up. (Don't worry your waiter brings you homemade chips and salsa when you sit down. They have no problem refilling your chips. Salsa and drinks as many times and you'd like. Back to the sauce. Creamy, flavorful and all over the place. Get the rice and beans and it's just swimming in a soup of seduction. Also, it's big so you and your partner can share. (All good things in moderation my friend!). It's about $30 for the plate but who cares when they first bite hits! Are you hungry yet? Get over there!!

Sadly the mild salsa was an over blended conglomeration with little distinctive flavor. They should walk a block down to Angelica's and steal their mild salsa/pico which is one of the best I have ever had. The salsa and chips are your first introduction/impression to the meal, so they must be done right. I ordered the Carne Asada and my wife order a single fish taco ( She is a small eater). My Carne had a very good charred flavor. It was slightly over cooked and came out a little tough. It would have been great had it been tenderized. The rice was acceptable and the refried beans were quite good. Now, here is where it falls apart. My wife's fish taco was "fishy" which means a strong flavor. When our server came over we told him of the "fishy" flavor. He asked if she liked it and she said no. His response was "sorry about that." Really? It was a five dollar taco not a $75 filet at a high end steakhouse . The server should have been empowered by management to immediately rectify the situation and asked; "Would you like something else?" How simple. But "sorry about that" is the truly worst response you can give to a customer. Management at Sabor should address this and train their staff to satisfy the customer. The food could have been five star gourmet, but you never treat a customer like that, never. I couldn't give Sabor higher than a three because of this terrible breach in customer service. We won't return.

Went in and multiple people had shrimp or seafood cocktails that were monster sized. Just went for a burrito and it was delicious. Fast forward to last night, and again staying in a nearby hotel and went to Las Palmas. It's nothing to look at...just a food stand in a gas station. But the lady who took our order was friendly and nice and helpful. Wife ordered a quesadilla with shredded chicken. I got a carne asada burrito with rice and guacamole. They also have a salsa bar...I got the salsa verde and some of the spicy jalapeños, carrots, and onions. Everything tasted great. Lots of carne asada and guacamole in the burrito. From there, it gets worse. There was an ample amount of cheese, however, there was no pico de gallo, cream or guac. I thought that there might have been a communication error, or maybe their Cali burrito isn't what I had come to expect. So, I decided to try their sister restaurant off of Brigham to make sure. Here I got pretty much the same thing except this time it had pico & crema. Still disappointing. When I think back about the place on Convention, I have to say I was also a little bothered about their kitchen practices. I saw the girl in the front of house and the cook eating while working. As for some better alternatives with a proper Cali burrito (in no particular order): - Monchis on River - Tacos Plaza on River - Aimars on Main As for Las Palmas, I can say that the rolled tacos are good. Also, I will be going back to try other menu options, like the carne asada fries and the bean and cheese burro. Let's hope that these other items sing.
