My truck was fixed in only a few days and right on schedule. The online tracker helped me plan out my time for pickup, and they called right away when it was complete to let me know. This shop was recommended by my trusted mechanic when I unknowingly purchased a used vehicle that had been involved in an accident. Paul was extremely helpful in thoroughly going over my vehicle, marking every clue to repairs done by previous owner with red tape and allowing me to take pictures of each area. I was there to have a diagnostic scan to search for codes and Paul volunteered to do a more in depth look all around and under my vehicle for signs of damage. I felt that they were open and honest with me, explaining NOT to trust Carfax reports, even if clean, when purchasing a used vehicle and the reasons why. A little job and a business with a big heart: Issue: to re-attach a rear inside door panel which had come loose and the trim peeling on my 1998 Pathfinder. I had previously stopped at a collision place that could care less about a small job like mine. I drove up to El Dorado and immediately "John" came out to my car and listened to my repair problem; then John drove off in my car while I waited in the customer lounge. In 20 minutes John was back and presto! - the door panel was attached and the trim corrected! However, John would not accept my money! It's a shame more businesses are not conducted like this place. I had a small part to paint from a motorcycle. I went to another body shop in Poway and was told they couldn't do the job and then was quoted a very high price if they were able to even get the paint. It was obvious they weren't interested. I then thought I would stop by El Dorado auto body and see if they were interested. I met with the manager, Paul. He immediately took the part and asked me to bring another, already painted, part from my motorcycle into the shop so they could color match it. Three days later the part was painted, buffed, waxed and ready to roll and a much lower price than the first shop. Paul and his guys did a really good job trying to match a hard to duplicate metallic red. In the end, my only complaint is their paint job looks better than the rest of the bike. Now I want to the remainder of my bike painted by them =) Anyway, Paul and his staff earned a return customer and I will happily make the drive from Escondido just to have them do any paint/ repairs I may need in the future. Two great experiences with El Dorado. First was a bumper repaint on a VW. Can't tell it wasn't an original factory job, and it's been over a year and still looks fantastic. Everything about this place is fine except for the fact that they took FOREVER to fix my car. I don't remember exactly how long my car was in the shop, but it was around three weeks. Now, I could understand that if they had to do some extensive work on my car, but I was involved in a fairly minor accident in a parking garage. They had to get some additional work they deemed necessary cleared by my insurance, so that must have held them up. But it still seems like they still took an unnecessarily long time. Something else that may contribute to this is that they're only open on weekdays. One thing that's cool about this place is that they upload pictures of your car while they're working on it to their website. They also provide an estimated return date, although in my case it was pretty useless since it kept getting pushed back (if they called me and told me the date was getting pushed back I wouldn't have minded as much, but I found out on my own when I kept checking the site). Luckily the insurance company of the lady who hit my car paid for my rental car while my car was in the shop, otherwise I would have been really ticked that they took so long. They did do a good job with the repair though and the people working there seem honest, so maybe they took a long time because they want to ensure their services are high quality. I guess things can get complicated when you have to deal with insurance. I don't know...but in any case I feel like can't give them more than three stars because they took so long to fix my car and could have done a better job communicating with me about it. read more

Hands Down the best collision center/ body shop I have ever had. This is my third vehicle that I have had to repair, and the second vehicle that El Dorado has worked on. The staff is very attentive and does great work. The latest vehicle they worked on for me was my 2003 Ford Mustang Cobra. The car looks better than it did when I bought it. The vehicle was customized prior to the accident and El Dorado found all the parts and had my car looking better than it did prior to my accident. Words cannot describe how happy I was with the job they did on my vehicle. They are a great group of professionals that are the best at what they do. I needed a replacement part for my car. Mitsubishi seemed so expensive so I ordered it myself online. When it came it seemed very difficult to install so I made an appt with these guys. Haven't been here in years. Hard to get in because they are not opened evenings or weekends but I worked it out. Not only did they do an excellent job while I waited but the manager said it was easy, no charge, just think of us if you need work or repair! Wow, I was impressed. The staff at El Dorado could not be nicer or more helpful. It's people like this that just make my day brighter. Knowing nothing about cars, I'm always a bit wary of mechanics ripping me off. The guys at El Dorado did just the opposite. I had 3-4 men working on my car (trying to get the hood off) - for about an hour and a half to 2 hours - free of charge. They could have easily charged me the standard rate of $100 bucks an hour (and I did offer to pay), but given the circumstances (the car I was sold through Craigslist was basically not working) - they would not even let me pay. These guys are amazing - oh and they can also achieve the near-impossible --they did get that hood off in the end! read more

He then asked to clean it up a little.It looked much better ,and he asked if they could buff the area.When he came back with the car WOW. You could not see anything unless you were really looking for something.I was flabbergasted that he would do that for us.On top of that he asked me to get touch up paint for nicks, and when I did he touched up the chips. I brought in my 2010 Ford Fusion to have the bumper replaced. Everyone I spoke to was very friendly. I was given an estimate lower than the collision center at the dealership. My car was at the shop for 5 days (picked up on 5th day). I was given a complimentary ride home on the day I dropped off my car, and another to the shop when it was ready for pickup. I was given the broken parts that were replaced as I requested. During the process, I was texted the status of the work on a daily basis.
