Just arrived, ordered and waiting on food. Been here before a while ago and it was great. Well the food or appetizer are here and their freaking awesome y'all! Again, love this venue and you just can't go wrong at this location.

El Fenix has consistently good food, and the Mesquite location has the best, most friendly service of all! Servers are always so friendly and nice. Their chips and salsa are legendary--that's why they sell them at the checkout. Enchilada special on Wednesdays comes out fast and hot. Always a treat to eat here!

El Fenix was a nice place to have lunch. We were seated fairly quick and had a server who was super attentive and ensured that our drinks and chips+salsa was full at all times. I ordered their taco salad which was really huge! It was my first time to have something like that and I was disappointed.

A Christmas tree sopapilla for email followers. Thanks, El Fenix!

As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted, seated and brought chips and salsa which I devoured. For starters, we had the guacamole salad and queso. We had to stop eating the queso and guacamole to save room for the main course because it was that good. My wife ordered the ground beef and shredded chicken enchiladas with all the fixings. They were very good with the red sauce and Spanish rice. The beef had a very good seasoning and the chicken had a taste like it had been marinated for a few hours. I had the beef fajitas. The beef was tender, succulent and seasoned well. The only thing that I didn't like was that the fajitas had a sweet taste to it. I believe the sweet taste was from sweet bell peppers or sweet onions, nevertheless, it was too sweet for my taste buds. We enjoyed ourselves, enjoyed the margaritas and the starters, but next time, I'll try some shrimp nachos. I give Ernesto's Mexican Restaurant three out of five drinks. Cheers!

There was a time when Meso Maya was the go-to for upscale Mexican in Dallas. The culinary scene in Dallas has changed so much that it is not longer the case. But the downtown Meso Maya remains an icon and continues to deliver consistently good food and service. The restaurant still has the warm ambience and remains in good condition even after all these years. It was too hot to sit on the patio so we ate indoors. The interior is smaller than I remember. The restaurant still starts you out with complimentary chips which are strips, and a smoky, spicy salsa. it was great. I started with the a mescal margarita and it was excellent. The kid had Topo Chico and the wife had Prosecco. Everyone enjoyed their drink. For entrees, the wife had her favorite, the vegetable budin, which is like a lasagna. The flavors were deep and rich. She loved it. I tried the carne tacos and they were excellent! The meat was tender and smoky. The beef had been marinated for a wonderful flavor. Good quality with no fat. I usually avoid ordering beef at restaurants because I often get more fat than meat which I detest, but not at Meso Maya. Our server Luis was very good. Present when we wanted and not when we did not. Overall, the restaurant was a hit on every level--ambience, service, and food. We like the downtown location the best and will return.

LOVE this place. God bless the people who came up with Las Palmas…read more First of all, please never change the queso- it is heaven sent and we always take it to-go (I'm NEVER leaving the rest behind) and it tastes even better the next day. This queso is probably the best I've ever had. BTW it is a LIL spicy but I can let that slide. Another great appetizer option would be the Nachos Al Carbon with wagyu. Super good too & honestly you can even order it for just one person as a main dish-- the serving size is big enough. BUT THE REAL STAR OF THE SHOW AT LAS PALMAS ARE THE WAGYU FAJITAS!!! Incredible. Comes with flour or corn tortillas, beans, rice, and obviously the works: sour cream, guacamole, lettuce. You know the vibes. Speaking of vibes, they're always there at Las Palmas. It is always busy but I genuinely don't care and never mind waiting an hour and a half for our table. It's worth it. This place is a confirmed staple in Dallas. Probably come here once a month if not more often. Thank you for great food and good service too- that's hard to come by nowadays. TRY THIS PLACE OUT! This is your sign!

Exceptional Sunday Lunch at Las Palmas…read more Our first visit to Las Palmas was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The seamless valet service and warm, professional welcome set the tone for an afternoon in their beautifully appointed dining room. Our server, Carlos, was truly exceptional. He went beyond standard service by sharing the history and traditions behind the menu, which added a wonderful layer of depth to our meal. The Queso Flameado, prepared tableside, was a highlight, followed by excellent entrées and a perfect Tres Leches cake. It is clear that Manager Tony has cultivated a world-class team; every interaction, from the host to the dining staff, was polished and welcoming. Las Palmas offers some of the finest Mexican cuisine in Dallas, elevated by genuine hospitality. We will certainly be returning and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a premier dining experience. I remember when they were located further down Lemmon Avenue in a much smaller space. They've since moved uptown, and the new digs are beautiful and very inviting. After we were seated, our server, Ruben, greeted us with a warm smile. We were especially excited since we arrived just in time to catch their lunch specials--and there are plenty of great ones to choose from. We started with a couple of frozen margaritas and a cup of queso while browsing the menu. The margaritas were spot-on--not wimpy at all, with just the right kick. And the queso? Absolutely outstanding--some of the best we've had in a long time. The salsa was excellent as well. My wife chose the lunch-sized chicken quesadillas, while I went with the #7 lunch special, which included a cheese taco, a chicken enchilada, and a beef enchilada topped with chili con carne. Our meals arrived after a short wait, and everything exceeded expectations. My wife was thrilled with the portion size--it was just right--and she was all smiles after her first bite. The chicken fajita meat was tender, flavorful, and perfectly marinated. My lunch special hit the spot and delivered exactly what I was craving. We had a fantastic experience at Mia's Tex-Mex. Ruben took excellent care of us throughout our visit, and we'll definitely be back again soon!
