I ordered a Carne Asada burrito with everything (no beans) and asked for it to be made extremely spicy. They told me the spiciest they could do was medium or hot, so I went with hot. Honestly, the spice level was about a 0/10 basically no heat at all. The wait was about 15 minutes, which wasn't bad. The young lady at the window who took my order was calm, polite, and understood exactly what I wanted. The area looked clean too, no trash on the ground, which was nice to see. The burrito itself was a decent size (for comparison, it was about the length of a Celsius can and around an inch wide). First bite was solid, probably an 8.5/10, but that was partly because I was really hungry. As I kept eating, I noticed the asada was dry and lacking flavor. The sauce did most of the heavy lifting, and the rice was inconsistent, some bites were fine, others had hard pieces mixed in. Overall, I'd give my experience a 3/5. The burrito itself was a 6.5/10. Not terrible, but the asada and rice could use improvement and if you're looking for heat, don't expect much.

Have to say there food is pretty good. The hours are awesome. Definitely a spot to try if you're in the area.

Not sure why this place has so many negative reviews. I really like their street tacos. The meat is flavorful whether you ordee asada, pollo, or pastor. Good salsa that they actually add to the taco. Service is efficient from ordering at the window. Normally ready in about 2-5minutes. Prices are affordable as well. I normally walk back to my office to enjoy them but if I have time and the weather is good can sit on the picnic table . Most patrons drive up, order and take to go. Menu is limited to about 8 items and I always want to try the Carne asada fries which look really good..

A SLIVER of jalapeño, lemon, and carrot. I ugly cried and laughed. We're paying $15-20 on average PER ORDER and all we get are RATIONS?!

I'm convinced the only reason this place is still in business is because they stay open late. The food is mediocre, the prices are ridiculous, and the worst part by far is the service. It feels like they intentionally hire staff with the worst attitudes--at this location and every other one I've tried. I almost ALWAYS have an issue when I go. I avoid this place whenever I can, but sometimes it ends up being a last resort. When they mess up my order, they somehow blame me and refuse to remake anything. They are completely RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to customers. For example, I specifically asked for salsa on the side for my tacos, and they gave me tacos practically drowning in salsa. When I went back to get them remade, they flat-out refused. I had no choice but to eat tacos soaked in red salsa. And if the terrible service isn't enough, their rationing of limes, jalapeños, and salsas is the cherry on top. I've ordered plenty of food from here, and they're unbelievably stingy with the sides. They hand out what can only be described as crumbs--and considering how much they charge, it feels like an insult. It's giving soup kitchen vibes, they most certainly make you feel like you're there getting a handout. So unless this place is also your last resort, AVOID IT. You'd get better service at McDonald's down the street...

Horrible! This is what my Asada fries look like. Covered in nacho cheese, smothered I should say. Why? Because there's hardly any Asada on these fries. So much to the point it's soupy. This place has gone downhill. I don't know if it's new owners, lazy or just too cheap to put out quality food. Never again will I eat here, nor will I ever recommend this place.

El Grullito in Stockton is a solid go-to spot for affordable and tasty tacos. They offer all the typical options you'd expect, and everything is simple but flavorful. The service was quick, and everything was clean. There is an outdoor seating area, which was a nice touch. The fries were also good!

    Garbage

Ordered this burrito, and it was cold. How long does the food sit out before serving? Can the tortilla at least be hot? Not worth finishing.

I visited El Grullito on Wednesday, 4/17/24, around 8:30 PM for dinner. I decided to order one Carne Asada burrito, two Carne Asada tacos, and an Agua de Jamaica. The burrito and the tacos tasted good, especially with the hot sauce. The only slight downfall was that the tortilla for the burrito was a tad hard. The Hibiscus drink was refreshing and delicious. The service was quick and efficient. I even liked how the food was affordable. For everything, the bill was about $20. Overall, El Grullito serves decent Mexican food. It is nice to know that this place is also 24/7. I would return here in the future.

$6 asada fries you can't beat.

I've tried a few other taco trucks as far as the side of fries going I like the fact that you can get a nice serving for $6. There's another location I tried and their fries were extremely salty. Every time I'm in town I make sure to stop by one of their trucks that are spread across the city. Make sure you give them a try if you see one of these trucks parked. I'll have to try some other items on them menu as well. They're using lined up for these trucks. No issues with service and you can eat in the comfort of your vehicle after you make your purchase.

Had a taste for some Asada Fries & My Co-worker recommended El Grullito ...the only thing I wished the fries were crinkle & Horchate was delicious & cold not over cinnamon at all

    Breakfast burrito! Overall, really good!

The maximum occupancy is 49 people, but it felt roomier inside than that. The decor is okay and the place seemed clean overall. Service - Service was pretty good. Our server was very friendly, and service wasn't bad. The only blemish was she did not check in on refills very frequently. I managed to get one, but my wife did not. By the time she asked again, we had finished our meal and were ready to go. A pretty small blemish, and not a dealbreaker for us. Food - The food was outstanding. My wife got the fajitas and they looked great! She loved them. I got the alambres and they were fantastic. Add in the homemade tortillas (both flour and corn) and it's an easy five stars! Their rice, beans, and salsa were all good too. No complaints at all with the food. Overall, I'd definitely come back again. The food was great, the people were super friendly and welcoming, and we were able to get a table right away. It's very close to the freeway, so when coming from out of town it's an easy on/off too. We came here on a whim last weekend, and OMG, I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is small and not in the greatest location, but the food was absolutely delicious and the service was excellent. I can't wait to go back! The tortilla chips are a mix of corn and flour, which was a nice surprise. Literally everything we ordered was so good! I went with the build-your-own combo plate and chose a cheese enchilada, beef taco, and beef flautas. My entire plate was delicious, including the rice and beans. The homemade tortillas were so fresh and tasty. Everyone in our party of four enjoyed their food. We split the three-piece quesabirria tacos, and they were excellent. I chose the gravy cheese enchilada for my combo plate, but I also tried my partner's green chili chicken enchilada--both were great. You can choose between red, green, or gravy sauce for the enchiladas, and I definitely want to try the red next time. Don't be turned off by the unassuming storefront and corner location. This place is serving up some seriously delicious food, and it's absolutely worth the visit!

Every time we have been here there has been so sort of issue. As a side note they rip customers off too- I like to add my own salsa so I always ask for it on the side and I've been charged for it even though I don't want extra just would normally come with food but I have seen cashier give customers dining in more salsa at counter after getting their food without charging them. It's like they just add random charges and sneak extra money out of customers getting food to go without even letting one know of the extra charges.
