This is definitely a hidden mom n pops restaurant and I ain't mad! The menu is pretty large for the size of the restaurant and the service was pretty decent. If you want real Mexican food you gotta skip the chains! Explore a little and try more! The food wasn't jaw dropping but it was pretty good. Wow! & Thank you! We were headed up this way to pick up my vehicle from my 5 star reviewed Toyota Clearwater and wanted to have dinner to wait out the traffic. I saw this was not only close by but received excellent reviews. Parking is out front of the restaurant. There were enough spaces although it was not busy. There is also outside seating. The menu is extensive- many dishes, tacos, fajitas, empenadas, flautas..... everything we tried was very good. I thought the guacamole needed salt, but that was an easy fix. The restaurant has a cute atmosphere, I liked the decorations. Also- expect to hear some Spanish and watch it- they had on Fox Deportes with lots of futbol. While this place is not near where we often travel, if we are in the area we will certainly return for some very good Mexican food. Gracias! read more

This true Mexican authentic small gem is tucked away off the beaten path, behind the Toyota dealer with plenty parking outside. There is also a linear type bar seating outdoors. There was a gentleman playing some nice Mexican music and guitar while we ate. The food portions were quite large as you would expect. What stood out to me was the Rice water which was a first for me. Taste great like a thin milkshake. They had 2 for 1 margaritas too. The soft steak tacos with cilantro are amazing! There were 7 of us in our party and they had a large table to accommodate our group. Overall nice place to eat if you like Mexican food. read more

We are always looking for great Mexican food! This placed nailed it. We came on cinco de mayo and it was extremely busy, but they managed to squeeze us in a corner - which I didn't mind. It is kind of small inside. They also had giveaways for cinco de mayo & I won some cool sombrero sunglasses. The margaritas were good and $2 for 5 - not sure if they always run this special. So far, this is the best burrito I've found, since moving from California to Sarasota in 2013. I don't like Mexican food smothered in sauces and I like adding spice to taste. I don't think it has to make your eyes water to be good Mexican food. The burritos have good rice, beans, just a little bit of lettuce and I get mine with carnitas. It also comes with chips, sour cream, green, spicy salsa and some cilantro-heavy pico de gallo on the side. I hate cilantro, so having it on the side is perfect! I've gotten take-out burritos twice now and they are consistent. I would normally ask for no lettuce, but they don't put a ton of it in for filler, so it's good even with the lettuce. The girls that have taken my order were courteous, polite and bi-lingual. Prices are good, about $8 for burrito, chips and sides. I have yet to find anything to complain about. So happy to finally be able to eat a good burrito once in a while! I'm still searching for more good burritos, so I'll keep you posted as I continue my quest! read more

The food was delicious! I was skeptical when going in but when I took the first bite of the food, I loved it! I left the restaurant with no leftovers because it was that good! The decor was really cute, I loved the window art! The sombreros on the wall were a nice touch and the soccer game playing by the bar was entertaining. Our server Veronica was the sweetest! This is the real deal. Mexican music, Mexican food, Mexican clientele. This is not a Taco Bell. The place is hard to find but has a steady stream of customers. I liked my meal. It was plentiful and tasty. My wife: not so much. She maintains the meat was like dry shoe leather with hard pieces in it with no flavor. She also hated the salsa that came with the chips. You can truly practice your Spanish here, but from my wife's perspective, perhaps the cook needs to practice his food preparation. read more

Very disappointed. I order chimichanga and it was very bland as was the green chilies sauce. My friend specified she was vegan and asked about the base of beans and rice. Both chicken based. Best Mexican food I have found in the Clearwater area in 15 years. It all appears to be made from scratch. They serve wine Margaritas and my wife says they're great and she is hard to please. Went to the place and I enjoyed myself. It defines a hole n the wall. Mom and pop place. No fountain drinks. Wife had a burrito and it was good. She was hoping for some sauce on the burrito. I had a Torta cubana and WOW. I loved it. The unsweetened tea is brewed but the sweet tea is instant. I had a bottle of coke. We beat the 6pm rush. We got there only 1 couple was there. This appears to be a very authentic Latino/ Mexican restaurant off the beaten path off frontage road, behind the Toyota dealership in Clearwater. Being non hispanic my expectation was that this cozy restaurant would be more like the typical Americanized Mexican types with red salsa and chips like Poblanos in Countryside. It's not. The sauce is a thin, brown liquid. I have no reference for the taste. Didn't appeal to me. Here they have an extensive menu of steak and chicken items, some with shrimp and Tilapia. No iced tea. Mexican soft drinks and beer are available. Some entrees are tightly rolled tortillas, deep fried with melted cheese on top. Latino's were the majority of customers. This seems to be one of their favs. I prefer the larger Mexican restaurants but to be fair there is definitely a niche market for this one. I wish them well. read more

Do not get the flauta dish. I ordered the steak flautas and the steak was burnt (hard and dry) wrapped in 4 shells. And there was oil at the bottom of the tray. My partner ordered the regular tacos they were ok. All in all we won't be going back. Besides that. This is the BEST place for tacos in the Clearwater area. For that I give them 4 starts. We were limited on time and were able to get waited on, eat well and leave as we needed. Up north, I used to look forward to the weekend for my Enchaladas Ranchero at Anita's in Burke, VA. So, by happenstance, we came here for Sunday Breakfast. They offer great options but I asked the server, who was a pure delight, about my dish. She stopped me and said, "Tell me what you want and we'll make it for you!" Dayum! She brought my my new all time fave breakfast! They made me what I wanted ... and better! The added avocado made it King! D ordered "The Omelet!" It was so tasty delicious, made with onions, tomato, and Jalapeño and your choice of chorizo, ham, sausage. I prefer Chorizo. Tortilla Chips are made in house and delicious! Table salsa is zesty spiced. Rice perfect and not over the top. The refried beans were consistent and tasty. We left on a fresh food high!
