They had a smell, I think from the plumbing because the building is so old. New in town and there isn't many places to eat here. Thank god for jalapeño. My fiancé and I have been here about five times and hasn't disappointed once. Chili verde is so good and has so much flavor. Their asada breakfast plate was very tasty. Another asada plate with mushrooms was bursting with flavor. Great for all meal periods but don't miss this place for breakfast! They serve the very best huevos rancheros and the best pancakes you will find anywhere!!! The service is also fast and the quality of food is extremely consistent. This is just a simple, cute Mexican cafe in terms of decor and location, but be prepared to be blown away by their culinary talents! The ladies that have worked there as servers for years along side their daughters and sometimes sons, don't necessarily wear big smiles on their faces but are in fact very friendly, super efficient and all work as a team. Even on a busy day, they all take turns at the cash register and use old school handwritten tickets which means they have to apply tax and determine the totals with help from only a simple calculator. Covid friendly. Found this place by surprise. Originally went to get a Cheese Steak at Fat Freddys but they weren't wearing masks. Mandated to wear especially if your preparing food. I enjoyed there margaritas they make them with wine no tequila. However the food is not authentic Mexican food. This is a Mexican American restaurant. Yes they have the traditional Mexican plates but not made the authentic way. If your looking for a Mexican American restaurant this is your place. Unfortunately for me not my forte! I ordered enchiladas they where okay. Enchiladas where soaked in cheese yellow and white. Came with beans in rice. Not authentic! Husband orders pozole it was made with pork. Tried this place out as a last minute choice. My wife had been here before, so we went based on her previous experience. The location is a pretty good size. Plenty of seating for parties of different sizes. The place was a little warm ( it was a warm day outside as well). Once they turned all of the ceiling fans on, it definitely made a difference. The food itself was pretty good. I had the Chile Verde plate, wife had the Burrito version. My son had a Carne Asada Burrito. It is actually authentic. The beans, were actually refried in the kitchen, not in some factory off somewhere. No canned beans here. The salsa had a really good flavor as well. Their Horchata was really creamy and good. Definitely wanted a refill. The only downside to this place (at least for my table) was the customer service by the waitress. She started off great with taking our orders, bringing our drinks and salsa with chips. Once the food came, we asked for more chips and napkins. After that, she didn't check on us again. My drink was gone. I didn't expect an Horchata refill, as most places don't refill Horchata cups, but at least ask me if I want something else to drink ( I actually could have used a water cup). I know I could have spoken up, but it's nice when your waiter/waitress actually takes care of you. That's my only rant, other than that, great place that I recommend. read more

The place his very authentic and all the plates taste very homemade. I had the camarones a la Diabla. The sauce was full of flavor. I expected it to be spicier but the heat level was very enjoyable. Went for lunch on July 14 th. We waited for someone to seat us but the staff seemed short staffed and busy so no one greeted us for awhile. After being seated we sat for awhile and finally our order was taken! Our food was served to us in shifts! My tacos came first and my wife's lunch came 10-12 minutes after mine. I shared my remaining taco with her as we were going to cancel her taco salad. Finally her salad arrived.and I had to ask for cilantro and onions for my tacos! The service is slow and non attentive. Small whole in the wall restaurant. Overall it's very clean no dust bunnies. The decor is super outed and random. The lady who seated us and took out order seemed like she didn't want to be there she looked drowsy. When ordering she seemed annoyed. She asked us if we wanted more chips. We said yes and we never got anymore chips. I ordered a cheese enchilada and a taco combo. The rice and beans where well seasoned. The rice seemed reheated. The taco was shredded beef. My mom ordered Carne con Chile. It came with a side order of rice and beans. The meat was soft and the Chile was pretty good. My sister ordered a carne asada wet burrito. The Carne was ground beef with potatoes?? The middle of the burrito was cold. I'm assuming everything here is microwaved. The service here honestly sucked. The waitress who took our order busted a Houdini. She disappeared and we didn't see her. One of the girls ended up being our food. We weren't asked if we wanted anything or if we wanted anything else. I wanted a flan but changed my mind after the chips. We waited for a while after we finished. Till we were able to flag someone down for the check. We didn't know if we had to pay upfront or wait for someone. Honestly I don't know how this place runs. Is there no manager? I understand socializing at work but not to this extreme. This one chick was taking a lunch break and this other waitress has a seat and starts talking. The other two are running around waiting on people. Our waitress was MIA. I don't know if she went on a break what happened. When we got the check from another waitress it was $60 total. It was written on a piece of paper with pen. I was questioning why so much? Anyways when walk to the front and one of the cashiers ran to ring us up.
