I have been eating at this restaurant for a few years now . Today I ordered chili steak fries with the garnishes on the side. They gave it to me with the steak on the side and when I complained they took it in the kitchen and dumped the steak on top and thought it was fine to do that. Still on the search for good Mexican food, my other half and I decided to try El Jardin. Of course we went on a Friday evening, busy time. The wait was not actually very long and was much shorter than the 30 minutes we were told. Sweet! The menu is pretty standard, and we both love enchiladas, so I ordered the cheese with olives inside and a mango margarita and my man ordered beef enchilada plate both no beans. It didn't take very long to come to the table. I crossed my fingers for flavor. Tonight , well, the sauce was much better than the last place we went to but still needed more spice. The enchiladas themselves were ok with the olives inside (this is how I normally order them for extra taste) but still not what I was craving. My other half told me, they were ok but not much flavor/taste and that's why he left so much on the plate. When the flavor bores him he's pretty much done. He left half of his food untouched The rice was pretty decent. Definitely made there, not from a mix/box. There were pieces of bell pepper in it. A first for me as I'm used to the standard frozen veg mix or plain. A pleasant surprise through. My mango margarita was pretty darn good. Sweet enough, not sugary sweet, and refreshing. From the moment we stepped inside and greeted by the hostess to our server, I have to say they get 2 solid stars. Very friendly. The dining area is large, the bar looks comfortable. Although the food was ok I still gotta say I'm still on the hunt for pretty darn good Mexican food. I know it's out there! read more

The food is always fresh tasting and it is the closest thing I've found to Tex Mex in the state of Colorado. I usually get carne asada. Margaritas are kinda a flop. Good / great service. The restaurant needs a deep cleaning but I have been back multiple times and happy eating there. read more

This place is soooooo good! There burritos are delicious. The staff is friendly but I also like the fact that its never overly crowded. The icing on the cake is that I'm still able to get it delivered or pick it up while the stay home order is in effect. read more

Met a friend from out of town, they were in Henderson. Stumbled across this place for a late lunch/early dinner! The service was spot on how they managed social distancing, and all the employees were great! I had the Mango Margarita Chicken and it was delicious! The mango salsa and strawberry dressing was the best I've ever had! If you are in the area definitely stop by, it's is also worth the drive! read more

So we went here for my wifes birthday. We have been here before but its been quite awhile. I have always thought the food was decent but thought it was a little overpriced, we had a party of 7 and were able to call ahead and have a table waiting for us when we got there which was nice because it was a Saturday night but we were not the only one celebrating birthdays . We started off with the chile con queso for and app which was good but there was so much cheese that it was difficult to serve on your plate or dip the chips in without getting it everywhere. I myself had the steak ranchero that came with rice and beans smothered in "HOT" green chili. And Ill tell you what I wasn't thinking it would be hot but it actually was, LoL. It was almost a little too hot. My wife had an enchilada plate which she enjoyed. Our server was very accommodating and always available. We were sat in almost a large room that will hold a lot of people and may be available for parties. At the end they sang Happy birthday to my Wife. as she was fitted with a sombrero for effect. All in all we enjoyed our meals and our company, the prices are a little higher but only by a couple of dollars if that. Would recommend trying . read more

I got the bill and she charged 12 dollars. when I asked about it she acted like the discussion we had that she brought up in the first place never happened. I will NEVER go there again. First time here, as I am from out of town. However, whenever visiting family out here in the future, I will be sure to come back to El Jardin for a meal. As soon as I walked in the restaurant, I was pleased with the delicious smell of the kitchen and the open floor plan for seating. Ordered a house margarita that went well with the chips and salsa before my entree arrived. I highly recommend the steak ranchero. Very flavorful and more than enough to fill you up! In was in the are and craving for good food. We came across El Jardin, and their New Mexican-TexMex style it's ok. Does not compares really to a true authentic Mexican food but food is ok. My son asked for the Bistec ranchero, which is typically steak tips, this camenin with a thick fine steak instead. I ordered carne adobada, which is, marinated pork in red Chile and vinager for days, instead this was just a pool of red chili. Again, just the flavors goes in a different directions. Changing things not necessarily will bring the plate up to an up-scale level, just the price. read more

Love good mexican food, the hubs is hispanic, his grandma made homemade tortillas everyday of her life, so we are always on the lookout for great mexican food. Made a point to make the trek to Commerce City to eat at El Jardin based on reviews here on Yelp. Went on a Saturday afternoon about 1:00 pm, place was busy but not crazy. We were seated promptly, but I have to admit, we waited several minutes before the server came around and took our drink orders. We ordered the queso dip to start. Hubby got a beer and me a margarita. I ordered a margarita with no salt on the rim, waited several more minutes and the drinks were served. Oh no, salt on rim. Had to send back. We never did receive the queso dip either, but we were not charged for it. Have to say however, the margarita was strong and very tasty. I forgive thee El Jardin. Okay, sounds like not exactly a great experience, why am I rating it so high? THE FOOD ROCKS. Green chili was fab, the tamale awesome, the chili rellano was badass, etc. Yes, the food was amazingly good, some of the best I have had in Denver. I have been coming to El Jardin for years now. I miss burrito nights. I do like the Bronco day specials. Inexpensive burritos and you can buy green chili by the pint. This time I had the house margarita -cheap price for a margarita. I ordered a Mexican hamburger. The Spanish rice was tasty, the green chili was hot and hit the spot. The beans were good too. Lets start off by saying the food NEVER dissappointments and the staff is always friendly! It's been quite a while since I've been in last (I use to frequent more often when my husband worked at the bank across the street) We happened to be the in the neighborhood last night and couldn't pass up a chance to grab some delicious food! We arrived at 645pm and we're quoted a 20 to 25 minute wait. Definitely to be expected with a party of 5 and it being right at dinner time. Unfortunately, we waited just over 1 hour and 15 minutes to be sat at our table. It's hard waiting for a table especially with 2 young children under the age of 4. I would have understood if the wait was maybe 5 to 10 minutes over the quoted time but waiting an hour without much of an apology besides "thank you for waiting" We will be back because we love the food but hope in the future that we can be accommodated in a timely fashion read more

The term "if you build it, they will come" is applicable here. The food was neither good nor bad, but when you're the only game in town, you're going to be crowded! I came here to visit a family member, ordered the tequila lime chicken. The meat was a bit dry but had good flavor and the rice and beans were ok, a bit on the bland side. Chips and salsa were also neither great nor terrible - they came to the table room temperature and appeared to be pre-made, and the salsa was a nice medium heat. Overall, I'd say it's nice having a decent Mexican restaurant in Commerce City, but I think all the hype for this place is based on a lack of alternatives. read more

My experiences with them have been bad and good. Sometimes the salsa gives you diarrhea and at other times the amount of salt they put on those chips have made me vomit. 911 was actually called once after I threw up. The hospital literally said I had food poisoning. Today the rancheros enchilada was good, and they didn't forget the guacamole. Overall I think it depends on who the waiter or waitress is. Don't eat there if you don't like temperamental waiters because they decide the fate of your food. Very clicky restaurant, people there seem to know everyone. read more

The horrible customer service has lost my business! My family has been coming to eat here for years. My sisters and niece stopped dining here along time ago due to rude staff. I personally loved the food enough to put up with the rude staff and overpriced food. I would literally drag my husband, as he hated going because we were always treated so poorly. Well due to Covid-19, my husband lost his job and I was working from home. We decided on my birthday (04.20), that we would order Togo. I had received a free entree coupon for my said birthday (really only $12 off, and there are very few meals for $12 or less). This was perfect to use, we thought. We ordered 2 carnitas chimichangas. The total was nearly $31 . I guess I should have asked if they were accepting coupons, but I didn't. We took the drive and picked up our order. The manager was behind the counter when I went in to grab my order. She refused to take the coupon and was very rude about it. She told me it clearly states not for Togo. I stated but the restaurant is closed for everything but Togo and it expires on 4.30.2020. She started laughing and said, oh well we will honor the coupon when our dine in is open again. Okay, how was I suppose to know that one option (Togo) would not be waived during Covid-19, but another would be (expiration date). I told her that we would have to come back when dine in is open then, and left without our food. This place would have rather me walk away with no food, than to take my $19 for the food, as the coupon would have only taken off $12. Also, I am on their email list and receive daily emails from the owner, Ben, and not once did he say that coupons would not be accepted for Togo's (pretty much meaning no coupons accepted right now), nor is there an email stating that expired coupons will be honored when dine in reopens. I emailed Ben about my disappointment and he clearly does not care, as I receive no response. I asked for nothing, I want nothing from them. All I wanted is for him to be aware that this makes no sense. Coupons should be accepted for Togo orders as that is the only option. And that maybe he should send an email to his following letting them know that they are not accepted and will be accepted expired. This place has lost a long time customer. read more

My friend and I dined here the evening of Thursday 01/05/23 (around 5pm). The restaurant itself is beautifully designed - great decor, outdoor firepit, bar - two sets of bathrooms. However, I had such terrible service. I have dietary restrictions due to an autoimmune condition I have, first off. I shared this with my server (didn't get her name, but she was an elderly white woman)and asked her if anything can be customized to not include tomato or dairy-based products. When she shared that the Huevos Rancheros can substitute the tomato salsa for a poblano sauce and that the cheese can be taken out, I asked to order that. My friend and I even asked typically how long it would take to make since we had plans to be at the movies an hour from then (the movie theatre was only a 10 minute drive away). It took nearly 30 to 40 minutes for the food to even come out. About a minute later, I noticed there was cheese all throughout my food. My server was no where to be found for the next five minutes, but we did see a manager roaming about and flagged her down (didn't get the managers name either, but she was an elderly hispanic woman). We explained to her the mishap. She simply said "we'll take care of this for you", and I confirmed: "Does that mean you'll comp this?" and she said yes (usually "taking care of it for you" means I won't be charged, but I had to confirm to be safe). The server did see what was going on and came to the table. Once the manager explained to the server that this order shouldn't have cheese in it, the first thing the server did was review her notes and made a weird facial expression, looked up at me, said "we'll re-make the dish for you", grabbed the plate off my table, and walked away with the manager. Neither the manager nor the server apologized. I was getting weary because we had about less than 20 minutes left to get to the theatre for our movie. 10 minutes later, I asked another server to tell my main server to have my reorder to go (since I didn't see my server or that manager anywhere...which I found very strange, especially since a refill of water at the least would have been nice). My reorder came out about 15 minutes later, and when we asked for the check, I was charged full price for my Huevos Rancheros. Not even a discount was applied to the meal. Like seriously? At this point, my friend and I knew we were going to miss the previews to our movie, and possibly even part of the beginning, so we paid the bill as is. Then I went to the manager on our way out and asked her what happened to her "taking care of our meal" like she said? She looked so dumbfounded. Then I added: "When you guys screw up a meal, and waste our time to remake it, the decent thing to do is apply a discount if not comp it." She fucking just shrugged her shoulders at me and I walked out that restaurant. My friend and I swore to never dine here again. Shittiest service I've received in a very long time. read more

They have a great setup, parking area cordoned off, waitstaff eager to comply with social distancing principles, and tasty lunches and dinners coming out on carts directly from the kitchen. Impressed with the organization and care this team is exercising to prevent spread of corona virus. Each day they provide a special but one can order off the menu.
