This probably is some of the WORST Mexican food I ever had! If it wasn't for the nice hostess(I forget her name) I would definitely not give this place even the one star. I had to wait for over an hour for a to-go order. The food wasn't even edible! I ordered two chicken enchiladas, rice, and beans and the only I could finish was the rice and the chips/salsa that came with the meal. The chicken enchiladas weren't even edible and fell apart. I truly felt like my meal was rushed and wasn't prepared properly. I won't be back and I would not recommend this place at all! I'm truly shocked they currently have 4/5 stars. read more

One of the popular Mexican restaurants in town. Went on Cinco de Mayo with some friends and we enjoyed ourselves! Good sized portions and pretty tasty! Time to update my review. Last time I was here was over 7 years ago. And I really enjoyed my food. I had my brother pick me up a chicken tortilla soup & a asada sope for dinner. Didn't care for the soup this time at all so I'm glad I ordered a sope. The soup tasted too much like cilantro. The wait to be seated was about an hour! There's not much room to sit and wait so it was pretty uncomfortable for our 93 year old father. The waiter was a nice kid and the food was so-so at best. 2 people in our party said they would never go back again. Finally was able to try this place out. Had lunch here with my mom on a Saturday. Since we were in the area we decided to eat here. It's my first time trying this place and I enjoyed my experience. Service here is attentive and quick. Food is good and they give huge portions for the price. The complimentary salsa and chips were delicious. We love their chips here, tastes so good and fresh. I drive from the East Bay just to go to El Jardin. They have the best Enchiladas Del Mar. I get the crab with garlic butter and green sauce. I usually get them to go because the Molcajete bowl is fabulous and I can't resist, it is huge and it is lots of fun to share! The flour tortilla chips are worth the drive on their own. read more

I traveled from Tracy to try El Jardin, and was very surprised by the selection of menu items available. There are a lot to choose from, and I saw a few items that peaked my interest, so I definitely plan on making the trip again in the near future. The setting was initially quiet, but the restaurant quickly filled up after we arrived, and there were even people waiting to get a seat at the door. The energy was amazing! It's not very often that I find a Mexican restaurant that I enjoy, but I had a good experience here. We were seated almost immediately, and provided chips with salsa promptly after we sat down. A staff member came by to ask for drinks, shortly after we were greeted with a bright smile by our server Anisa. She was friendly, professional, and extremely patient as I was taking a long time to finish my meal. The support staff was also extremely helpful in aiding her, which we both agreed made for a good experience. Thank you to BOH, FOH, and management. They have these delicious margaritas that come in pitchers which I love!!! the food is delicious. We go here all the time for birthdays. Also, they have my black Cadillac in a pitcher which I really love. The prices are reasonable. This is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant of all time. Whenever I go here, I usually always get some type of garlic shrimp dish, which never disappoints. The food here is amazing if you ever try this place ask for their flower tortilla chips. By far the best I've had and their salsa is amazing. The margaritas are pretty good however, the margarita flight is a little bit on the sweeter side. A little too sweet for me nonetheless, still good. The service is always great here. So its been a while since the first time my friend & i checked out this place.. but yesterday we came here to hangout for a little reunion since she lives out of state. We're both big foodies & mexican food is one of our favs. I know its a bit silly but one of our favorite things about this resturant was their chips hahaha. Their tortilla chips are so authentic to exactly how you would make them at home. The quality is just so amazinggg. Then before 3, I believe they have lunch specials with tacos, enchiladas, burritos, & taquitos. My go to is always enchiladas. Red sauce since I didnt order shrimp. & my friend got the burrito supreme w/out the pico etc. Our waiter was super attentive and the food didn't take long at all. My enchiladas looked so amazing, the mole was the perfect amount of spice but like a tangy-ness lol which was the perfect blend ive never had in a sauce before. Usually they are super spicy or just have more of a gravy taste but never just something in between. Also, the enchiladas had a great portion of chicken too which i loved. It was that way throughout. They had good portions on rice, beans, sauce..i didn't have to ask for anything extra. I couldnt believe the size of the burrito supreme! It was so big. The service started out rocky but improved after I mentioned no one had approached us after waiting about 10-15 minutes at the table. After that the service was on point so I won't hold it against them and take away any stars for it. Went as a lunch date on Labor Day and they were very busy. I ordered a sope which was delicious and they did not skimp on the meat .. mmm! Chips were fresh and on point too! I got full on chips so took half my food to go and will eat it for lunch tomorrow! Two meals for price of one. We ordered just in time to have lunch specials which are about $5 cheaper than dinner prices. Huge portions made up for higher prices as far as Mexican food goes. Usually is cheaper but again the portions made up for it and we got lunch special prices. Salsa left a lot to be desired so I'm taking off a star for the salsa. Tasted like ketchup but chunky tomato and bell peppers in it. Still this is a solid four stars possible 4 1/2 but no half stars on Yelp so they get four as they definitely are not a five star place. read more
