Chorizo and egg taco $1.65.
Daryll B.

I'm hanging around the barrio again on Spur St. I tried a chorizo and egg taco through the drivethough. I found the tortilla to be hard around the edges and the chorizo and egg lacked flavor. I probably won't be back as Milly's across the street also has a drive though and her tortillas are soft, homemade and delicious. In comparing these Spur st. joints with Seguin taquerias (taco tejano, las palmas, the palms), there is just no comparison. Seguin is outstanding with the tortillas, salsas, and meat fillings.

Popped into El Jardin for breakfast and the breakfast tacos did not disappoint. The fillings were very generous and service was on point. Tortillas were tasty but a little on the hard side. I would definitely return to try other dishes. I really like El Jardin because they have a nifty drive-thru that I've been using since I was in high school. There are plenty of seating options and they have a nice bar in the back room.

So goooood

You can tell everyone is genuinely happy to be there (not something you see often). We ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes (amazing), the breakfast fried rice (so many flavors and so filling!) and my husband had Joe's Sammich. Everything was made fresh and had so many elements of flavor to them! The portions are larger than they seem and so rich! Even their waffle fries are perfectly crisped and flavored! My husband loved their cold brew and I enjoyed drip coffee. We will definitely be back again to try more menu items- including the boozy coffee. The place is unique and I'm so glad it's here!

So if you go on a Sunday try to get there before Church gets out. When walking in you get a nice new age vibe and the customer service is always great! You can scan a barcode to view the menu or just look at the one when getting to the register, but the barcode has more of a selection. The food is of good portions and the taste is amazing! Every plate definitely has an amazing presentation and are all great! So whenever you are in a mood for a great breakfast spot, breakfast. is a must!

The indoor pool house area with the bar and seating space was a really nice touch, and the views of the river were beautiful. And I'll say right up front, the food was very good. From a short stack of pancakes (still huge) with a side of sausage links to the avocado toast with eggs and a side of bacon, the food was very good quality and flavor. What was disappointing was that the service was lacking. The hostess wasn't busy as we walked in but seemed preoccupied with wiping menus instead of acknowledging our party. We finally said "hello" and then were acknowledged and seated but no real greeting or enthusiasm. Similar behavior from our waitress. No niceties, just "do you want something to drink". When our coffee was delivered we asked for water and they were promptly delivered without any words but no straws. Maybe water isn't automatic here and maybe straws aren't either? Later, I flagged down the waitress to ask for straws and we got 4 straws --- for 2 persons ... ok. Again the food was great but my coffee cup sat empty from early on, needing a refill and I finally had to ask for it. I hope this isn't the norm.. and it wasn't terrible, but for such good food, you'd hope the service would match.

We intended to have 2 each but had to stick with one in order to function afterwards. I had the CFC Biscuit Benedict and you can customize it with spicy chicken or hot honey. I got the hot honey and it was perfect! It was so delicious I don't leave a morsel behind. My friend and I shared the salted caramel brownie for my birthday, and that was also delicious. I can't wait to come back here and this says a lot since I'm not big of fried chicken. Theirs is fried to perfection (soft on the inside and just crunchy enough on the outside). You're seriously missing out!

I have been to this restaurant several times before and it has always been one of my favorites. The…read moredrinks were amazing and the food was consistently great. Last night I finally brought my husband to try it after hyping it up for so long, and unfortunately it was a huge disappointment. Things have definitely changed. I was really looking forward to the chicken fried chicken, only to find out they were completely out of mashed potatoes. For a place known for chicken, that was surprising. So I ended up just sharing some of my husband's meal and our appetizer. The cornbread has always been something I rave about, especially with their hot honey. This time it came out dry, and the hot honey had no heat at all. It just was not the same. My husband's fried chicken was honestly the worst part. It was burnt, with a layer of black under the breading, and tasted like it had been overcooked to the point of being charred. There is no way the kitchen did not see how dark it was before serving it. That said, his sides were still great, so at least part of the meal was enjoyable. Our friend's chicken sandwich was not terrible, but it did not taste fresh like it used to. It felt more like something frozen and heavily breaded instead of the quality we had experienced before. One positive was the service. Our server was wonderful, and the rest of the staff was kind and attentive as well. I accidentally spilled my drink right after it arrived, and they were quick and gracious to replace it even though it was completely my fault. That was very much appreciated. The other issue that really took away from the experience was the atmosphere. Halfway through our meal, a large group of adults sat in the courtyard and had their children sit separately at a table right next to us, while their parents remained in another section of the patio. The kids were clearly having fun and playing games, which is great, but they were also very loud and screaming just a foot away from our table while their parents enjoyed quiet drinks elsewhere. There were completely open sections of the patio farther away where they could have sat, so it was frustrating that they were placed right next to the only other table of adults trying to enjoy a night out. It ended up being very disruptive and took away from what we had hoped would be a relaxing evening. Overall, I was really disappointed. This used to be a place I highly recommended, but after this visit it feels like the quality and attention to detail have slipped. I truly hope they can get back to what made them so great before.
