Great food even better service. Everyone there is super chill and the food is cheap but also tasty

Walking in, I love spacious seating with low lighting as it feels relaxing. It was surprising to see it quiet, given it was the time that most people are getting off work. Esperanza was sweet and friendly, very prompt when needed. They have tamarind soda, which I LOVE so much and is hard to find in the Midwest for some reason. The queso fundido was yummy, and we didn't wait too long for the rest of our meal. The quesadilla was VERY generous with its protein, it was almost like a giant taco instead of a quesadilla! My husband enjoyed it very much. He didn't enjoy his torta, unfortunately. I enjoyed my al Pastor tacos very much! They were beautifully plated and full of flavor, with tender pieces of pork. The sweetest thing is, my husband often won't say anything if he didn't enjoy an item, we just take it home and I will alter it to try and make it better. However, Esperanza noticed he only took a bite, and graciously took it off the menu without a fuss. The restaurant even gave us a couple of cute ice creams as an apology for not enjoying the torta. They all went above and beyond to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I noticed a couple of people walking in as we were preparing to leave, that Esperanza could acknowledge by name or order, so it's clear they have regulars that they treat with love! read more

El Meson is a wonderful Mexican restaurant in Boone Village. Great service and good food sets them apart from other local venues. The dining room/bar is upscale. Angel, our server, welcomed us with a big smile the minute we walked in the door. He sat us in a quiet booth in front of a window. He made recommendations, kept drinks full and checked on us regularly. It was the kind of 5 star service that makes you feel special. They offer daily specials and have a special lunch menu. Traditional Mexican favorites fill the menu. Complementary chips and salsa come out to the table. The food comes out quickly. I ordered a Taco Salad with chicken. I could tell that the tortilla shell was freshly prepared. The salad was light and good with the chicken smothered in cheese and topped with fresh guac. My husband had the Burrito Meson. The burrito was topped with lettuce, tomatoes and cheese. Generous portions of fresh refried beans and rice were included. Our meal was great. read more

I wondered why this place was empty. I walked in with my daughter thinking this could potentially be our new go-to Mexican spot but unfortunately our experience was so bad that we had to leave before the IU game even started. We both decided to get heftier items from the menu to get a feel from the place and I even went with a Margarita. I am not exaggerating when I say the margarita tasted like water. The lady asked me if I wanted the regular or large and I said "No regular is all I can handle". The meal plating was beautiful but when the bill came out everything was up charged it was nearly $100 for my daughter and I, and we each only got one meal, no appetizers, and my margarita. I see why El Rodeo is slammed and El Mason has every table empty. We won't be back. read more

Always like goin to authentic style Mexican restaurants when I'm craving some queso and chips n salsa. Had been to other El mesons before in the area and this is one of their newer locations. The interesting thing about this location is the interior is bit more upscale looking, not the typical bright colorful wood carved tropical booths. And it's also never been busy when I've been, but the service is always pretty slow. The food is typical and tastes good. What you would expect. Mine wasn't very warm this time which was odd bc usually it's almost scalding hot lol. The queso is good, Chios and salsa taste great too. Definitely a great place to get your Mexican food craving just wish the service was better here for a more enjoyable experience without feeling like you are waiting on them to check back for needed dining items. read more

Was looking forward to trying the Mexican food in Indiana, and this place did not disappoint! Margaritas... delicious. Tacos? Impressive. Their menu had a great variety of dishes to choose from. My main dish was the Jalisco quesadilla, filled with fajita veggies, shrimp, steak, and chicken. I really only had enough room for half the quesadilla... definitely satisfying both taste and portion wise! If I were to come back, I'll have to try their QuesaBirria!! read more

More authentic Mexican fare than most places, which is a big plus for this restaurant Their enchiladas and burritos are quite flavorful. Chips are ok yet their salsa is delicious. Service was mediocre, though, so if that really matters to you then you may not be happy. (The food makes up for it, imo.) read more

Takes me back to my childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area. WHEELCHAIR FRIENDLY - Manual and Power wheelchairs should fit with ease. Plenty of room to manuvour, tables and comfortable booths allow for in wheelchair dining or transferring to a booth very easy. When we dine I'm able to just park next to the booth without ever blocking people. I use a TiLite ZRA Series 1 wheelchair for reference. Once you have authentic Mexican food you will never think Taco Bell comes close. From the warm welcome as you're greeted to the excellent service you receive. The food is constantly excellent at El Meson. The decor is perfect, the music beautiful, lively and fits the mood quite well. Order anything you're interested in. We have not found anything we don't like. Five For ‍‍‍ access. Plus Five For down to Earth excellent customer service. Plus: For food that is cooked to absolute perfection each time. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the world, and especially to those in the Zionsville, Indiana area. If you were waiting for Zionsville to get a fantastic Mexican restaurant, that wait is over. We ordered through DoorDash and got the Arroz con Pollo and choriqueso. Absolutely delicious! The Arroz con Pollo we split three ways (lunch for one of us tomorrow) so the portions are huge! It was spicy and flavorful, the choriqueso as well (enough chips and dip for another meal). It's so convenient and close to home, I definitely found my new spot to pick up dinner! read more

Ordered take-out so I'd like to go back and try the dine-in experience because take-out was pretty basic and boring. Everything was fine but in that way that is interchangeable with almost every other run of the mill Mexican restaurant. We ordered a variety of items and didn't notice any strong flavors or develop any favorite items. Where to start... no bueno! The food had no flavor. Had the 2 Chile relleno, beans, and side of guacamole, chalupa. My michelada also tasted like if it was old. We ordered carry-out on a Sunday evening and our order was ready in 10 minutes. I had 2 beef tacos with all the fixings and my husband had a steak quesadilla. We also ordered queso and chips. The order came with complimentary salsa as well. My tacos were good but my husband said his quesadilla was soggy. It probably would've been better if he ordered that for dine-in. The chips were pretty bland but the queso and salsa were both good. Overall, it was an okay experience. We'll be back to check out the food quality with a dine-in experience in the future. read more

First and last time coming to this place of business. The service was TERRIBLE ! food was mediocre. I walked in a hour before closing and sat at the bar, I was serviced me with my drink order with little wait. She took our drink order and VANISHED. I didn't see her again until about 20-30 mins in . Didn't know if she assumed we were only ordering a drink but provided a menu. When I asked about ordering, she inquired was the bill going to be separate and insisted that she be made aware even before she took our orders for food. Mind you we had to ask to order food. Fast forward, while eating, the waiter waited behind us literally to finish up. Continuously asked us if I were done and taking away dishes while we actively ate. I didn't appreciate the rush and to wrap it up, got our orders wrong on the bill because she rushed us when trying to explain what each bill covered. ZERO STARS ! read more

This is definitely the best Mexican food in Zionsville. It's brand new and they have many standard fare dishes but they do it better than most. We tried the chorizo queso and it's excellent. The chimichanga and enchiladas were awesome. We tried the fried ice cream and it was disappointing. The coating was chewy and flavorless. I haven't had fried ice cream in 30 years. It was a huge portion and one would've been enough for our party of 4 to share. Maybe it was a fluke but I wouldn't order it again. The rest of the food was great! read more

I have finally found my new favorite Mexican restaurant! We have ordered from El Mason twice via Door Dash and it was excellent both times. The food was delivered very fast and the portions were so generous. Everything was very fresh and, even though it was a take out/delivery order, nicely plated. Obviously they take pride in their dishes. The prices were very reasonable. This food was much better than any of the more expensive Mexican restaurants in our area.
