Service very good. The restaurant had areas blocked off due to roof leaks. Everything we ordered was amazing and very tasty. Very large portions. Great value for the amount of food served.

Got here thanks to a co-worker referral. He was right on his opinion about the place. At first, the place looked packed, which typically is a good sign. Service was great, location casual, but air conditioned. Lots of options in the menu, we were all very pleased with our selections. My wife loved the mamposteao tasteful rice, the mofongo was great. I loved it all, its hard for me to pick between the beans and the beefsteak. Recommended A+ Portions were reasonable, quality/price deserves a five (5) stars no doubt.

I wish I could try it all! The food was delicious and the service was amazing. There were some bilingual staff (if you need it.) The wait was short and the food came out quickly. I had croqueta de bacalao and mofongo relleno de karne kampestre with a side of rice and beans. I would cone again and bring family!

This place is AMAZING! Our waiter Ray was awesome too! I had the chuleta kan kan along with white rice and beans and tostones de pana. Yum! My mother had the same but with a 6oz. churrasco. They also have an amazing hot sauce that we even bought to take back home to PA. And you can not forget about dessert!! The tres leches is a must!! Soooo good! Again, this place is DELICIOUS and I will definitely come again when I return to PR!

Our close friends mom,…read morewhom we refer to as Grandma cooked some of the best Pernil, arroz con gondules, tostones, and so on. So on our first night in the PR, we definitely wanted some authentic Puerto Rican food and with no recommendations, I resulted to what I know and did some Yelp searching. Not far from us was Toston Jibareño. As soon as we entered, I knew we were in the right place. The place has a decent amount of people inside so I knew it had to be ok. The menu has items I wasn't familiar with, but I went with what I thought I knew. Let me just say everything we ordered was spot on authentic to what I know. The pork chops was out of this world. The mofongo's and tostones brought back memories, the skirt steak was so tender and they did not have arroz con gondules, but instead arroz con habichuelas which are beans and I can't eat beans. It was a great first night. As much as I would love to come back,I have to try different places and different things, but if you are a local and haven't been here or a tourist and want good PR food, this is a great first stop.

My friends and I shared the skirt steak with mofongo, and the mofongo was the best we had our entire trip. We got to try to chicharron too, and it was crispy and flavorful. The steak was tender and juicy. I can't remember much else from the meal, but I would definitely come back, even just for the mofongo alone!

I had the petchuga de pollo with rice, beans, tostones.. I also had my favorite appetizers, sorullios and Pizza empanadas.. The chicken, rice, beans were delicious as usual. The corn fritters were equally delicious but the Pizza empanadas missed the spot.. Can't win them all. But overall I had a great meal and will be back soon! Service was great as the wait staff were attentive and accommodating. As far as the ambience, it was pretty packed there was patrons joining their meals. Can't really remember if there was any music in the background. But it's a very nice restaurant. If you are in the old San Juan Puerto Rico area and are looking for some good Puerto Rican food I suggest that you hit this spot up. You won't be mad. Alright now.. Have a great one yall! -Ray

It could also be that we were seated on the top floor and not the main floor of the restaurant. We ordered the bacalaitos for an appetizer. I ordered the mero al horno (grouper filet). My husband ordered the fried snapper. The bacalaitos were good. The grouper was delicious. I didn't get the chance to try the fried snapper but it looked good. The rice and beans complimented the dish well.
