Fish tacos & potato tacos
Josh M.

Sorry lovers of taco nazo but you've clearly never heard of Baja Cali Tacos because then you would know where the best spot is. This little hidden spot is amazing and the fish tacos are amazing! They are meaty and come out still sizzling. The fish batter just gives it a next level crunch as you bite in and the fresh cream is great! I also throw on their signature green sauce that you won't find anywhere else. You won't have to be waiting 30 mins - 1 hour just for your food and at other locations it comes out cold. The service here is also great they bring your food right to your table and always with a smile. Thank you Baja Cali Tacos for the quality service. I will tell friends and family about this little gem.

Fish Tacos - closest to Ensenada that I've had!

Sorry Taco Nazo but the actual best Ensendada style fish taco is HERE. My cousin turned me on to this place saying that this was the closest to the fish tacos we used to get on our trips south of the border when we were kids. She was RIGHT. The fish tacos feature a HEFTY piece of fish battered just right so you can actually taste the moist flavorful goodness inside. Taco Nazo has been shifting to more and more batter while this place still honors the girth and flavor of the fish. We tried other burritos like the chile relleno burrito, fish burrito, lengua and chicharron in chile verde and all were dank dank dank. Sure it's a hole in the wall but what authentic Mexican place isn't? Taco Nazo fans who don't want to spend an arm and a leg to wait in a ridiculous line, deal with a busy parking lot, and want BETTER tastier fish tacos then try this!

The establishment is clean, our order was taken and out in a timely fashion, and the fish burrito was AMAZING. 10/10

Been getting fish tacos here for years now. Most authentic sauce same as what they have in Baja. You can order anything in the menu and you won't go wrong. Always consistent with quality and taste. Nice ladies taking orders either by phone or at the counter. Small casual dine in and always clean. Have ample parking.

Best Fish tacos ever! Trying to keep this place hidden but they deserve all the hype! Tacos come out hot and fast. There is plenty of seats inside and plenty of parking. Highly HIGHLY recommend for some BOMB tacos!!!!

Calling all fish taco lovers to add this mama papa taco/Mexican spot to your list! It was recommended to me by a friend, I have been returning whenever I carve for a good fish taco. I usually get 2 of the fish tacos which are just enough. It's priced reasonably at 3.99 dollars. The battered fried fish is of generous size with right amount of shredded cabbage, a type of white sauce which could be ranch, diced tomato, and pieces of cilantro. I love the added side of the grilled jalapeño which you don't usually get at other taco places. For to-go, you will get lemon slices and green and red salsa that are not too spicy. It has inside sitting booths. It seems to be family owned and phones are answered promptly. They are open 7 days from 9am-8pm and you could order other meals of your choice. I have tried their fish burrito which is OK. You can place your online order through Yelp, Uber eats, and DoorDash.

The best late night comfort food! Soup Shop has good food, and they're open late. It's no wonder…read morethere's always people waiting for a table outside. We were craving some warm pho on a cold night, and Soup Shop sounded like the perfect spot. The plaza Soup Shop is located in is usually super crowded, but if you go after 9pm when most of the other restaurants and shops are closed, you'll find plenty of parking. Write your name down on the waiting list at the front podium and then wait for your name to be called. They have a few seats to wait right outside the door. Once we were seated, we were given menus. I really like that their menu has a lot of large photos of the dishes, so you know what you're getting! Once we ordered, the food came out pretty quickly despite being busy. For appetizers, we ordered the Crunchy Pork "Bao" since it sounded unique. Inside the bao is pork shoulder, mushroom, Vietnamese sausage, and quail egg. The outside has a thin, perfectly crispy layer that gives a nice little crunch when you bite into it. Really enjoyed these and would recommend! We also got the Crusted Parmesan Cauliflower. Not sure what's in the sauce, but it's sweet, tangy, and delicious! It's also topped with fried onion, cilantro, cucumber, and parmesan cheese. Also a winner! For entrees, we got the Chicken Pho and the Pho Ribeye. For the chicken Pho, you can get it with thigh or breast meat. I got it with breast meat, and they gave a good amount of meat! A little dry, but I appreciated that it was nice and lean. The flavor of the soup is really good. Pho Ribeye was also tasty! Hit the spot.

June 2026 Updated review:…read more Bowls have been dumbed down by 40%. Less meat, more noodles, less broth and less veggie amenities. Truly disappointing since they upped the prices as well. So you're paying more for less good food. I would hope they read my reviews and go back to how they served big bowls of yummy pho with great ingredients. I know food is expensive but they've already increased their prices to offshoot current inflation. SO GO BACK TO HOW YOU USED TO SERVE PHO.

I ordered the Thai Boat Noodle and my husband got the Noodle King special. Honestly, it's basically…read morethe same broth, the king version just loads it up with brisket, tendon, tripe, and meatballs, so think of it as a fully stacked boat noodle. The broth is the star here. It's rich, flavorful, slightly sweet with a tangy kick, pretty sure there's some tangerine going on in there. Just a heads up, even "mild spicy level" has a noticeable heat, so if you're sensitive to spice, don't try to be brave... go no spice. The meats were surprisingly good, tender, not chewy, which is where a lot of places mess up. Noodles came out hot, no complaints there. We also got mango sticky rice and this is where they really sealed the deal. Mango was perfectly in season, juicy, sweet, not that sad sour off-season stuff. Sticky rice was soft and actually tasted like it was made fresh, not reheated from yesterday. Waitress was attentive and nice. Place itself is small, clean, modern, very mom-and-pop but done right, not rundown. I will definitely come back.

Ordered from here via third party app…read more Papaya Salad: it was okay. It came with pieces of cabbage (as opposed to wedges I normally get from other Thai places). I like how's there's more dressing as you get the taste of it in every bite. The dressing however was a little too fish forward for me and you don't get much acid. IMO, the fish sauce and lemon (acid) should balance each other out. They use big tomatoes cut into wedges (as opposed to cherry tomatoes which I normally have at other Thai restaurants), And they give a good amount of food. Chow Mein: my boyfriend ate this. He said it was okay. It looked pretty good to me. Thai ice tea: I ordered this with boba. And as I was drinking it, I don't know what was in it but it definitely was not boba. It was orange with a chewy texture. I checked the receipt and it clearly says BOBA.

What I Ordered: Juicy Pork Dumplings ($11.99)…read morePan Fried Chinese Chives Pork Shrimp dumplings ($12.99) Wonton in Spicy Sauce ($11.50) Chicken Fried Rice ($12.99) Dry fried string bean ($13.50) Orange Chicken ($14.99) Kung Pao Shrimp ($18.99) Dan dan noodle ($13.99) Beef roll pancake ($12.99) Spring rolls ($3.50) Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba Food: The Pan Fried Chinese Chives Pork Shrimp Dumplings. I absolutely loved the crispy bottom layer because it added such a satisfying crunch to every bite. The inside stayed really juicy and flavorful with a good balance of pork, shrimp, and chives. The Juicy Pork Dumplings had soup inside, which was rich and savory. I've had soup dumplings before where the wrapper breaks apart too easily, but these held together nicely while still staying soft and delicate. The Wonton in Spicy Sauce was my personal favorite from the entire meal. The spicy sauce flavor was savory with a little sweetness. I'm typically not good with spice, so this is at a spice level that should be very manageable for everyone. I absolutely loved the spicy sauce, so I started putting it on everything. Definitely put the sauce on the chicken fried rice! The Chicken Fried Rice was a great dish to pair with everything else that we ordered. With several orders of entrees, a solid rice dish is a must order for any Chinese meal. The rice had a nice savory flavor that I enjoyed, and there was a generous amount of chicken mixed throughout the dish. I even asked the waitress if they do anything special with the fried rice because it tasted better than many other restaurants. It felt comforting and balanced compared to some of the heavier dishes. The Dry Fried String Beans were cooked perfectly with a slight crispness while still being tender. The garlic and seasoning gave them so much flavor that it honestly didn't even feel like I was eating vegetables. I do have to note that these were very much on the salty side, so if you don't like foods that are too salty, I would choose a different dish. The Orange Chicken was really crispy and juicy, which I appreciated because soggy orange chicken is always disappointing to me. The sauce had a nice citrus flavor while still keeping that classic sweet savory taste. The Spring Rolls were simple with vegetable filling on the inside with a crispy outside. I would try a different appetizer next time. The Kung Pao Shrimp was packed with flavor and had a really satisfying combination of textures. The shrimp were tender, and the peanuts added a great crunch to the dish. I thought the sauce had a really nice balance of spice and savoriness without becoming overwhelming. Another dish I really enjoyed was the Beef Roll Pancake. The pancake itself was nice and chewy throughout each bite. The sliced beef with green onions and sauce all wrapped together made every bite really flavorful and satisfying. For drinks, I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea with Boba. I really liked that the jasmine tea flavor was noticeable instead of being overly sweet like some milk teas can be. The boba had a soft chewy texture, and the drink itself paired perfectly with the spicy and savory dishes from the meal. Staff: All of the staff members were quick and friendly Ambiance: Indoor seating only. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

At first, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the overall experience was better than I anticipated. The seasoning was a little strong, and some dishes had a fairly familiar, standardized taste. Nothing was bad, and everything was prepared well, but I do feel a little disappointed when the authentic flavors of traditional Chinese food become less noticeable. There were four of us, and we ordered about eight or nine of their most popular dishes. My parents really enjoyed the food. I have worked in China before, so I may be a little more sensitive and particular when it comes to Chinese food. Overall, the restaurant has good reviews, the prices are reasonable, and it was a pretty good dining experience.
