Great Mexican restaurant up in Reidsville. This place is huge, room after room with plenty of…read moreseating even on busy nights so wait times, if any, are minimal. They even have overflow parking across a side street so parking is a breeze. Everyone in our family are chips and salsa lovers. Some of the best here, and they keep it coming without asking. Huge pour jugs of fresh salsa was flowing at our table throughout dinner. Our server was amazing given how much we can put down. He never missed a beat, filling drinks, bringing food, and cracking a few jokes whenever he stopped by. Our mains were a bit of a hit and miss. My wife's chicken chimichangas were a bit dry inside, but the sauces and sides were delicious. A little extra juiciness and a bit more tender chicken would make this a 5 star dish. My verde cheese enchiladas were excellent. Cheese that pulled for days, tender tortillas, and smothered in delicious green sauce. Kids enjoyed their dishes as well. Chicken flautas were crispy and tasty, but again the chicken was a tad bit dry inside. The grilled shrimp burrito was outstanding. Perfectly grilled shrimp with a juicy sauce that tied it together. Great place for solid Mexican meal, fun for the whole family, small or large party without any wait or parking issues.

I always have a great time at Monterrey. The service and food are wonderful and I love the…read moreatmosphere.

Driven by many times, and have visited other restaurants in the vicinity (Bona's, Fursty's,…read moreMonterrey Mexican), but never stopped in. Looking to try somewhere new on a Friday night, and with few reviews and no menu pics online, decided to gave it a whirl. Parking lot had very few cars for 6:30 on a Friday night, and the amount of customers inside relayed that. Sat ourselves as requested; server came in a couple minutes to bring menus and take our drink orders. Menu isn't very big and definitely qualifies as 'diner' food: burgers, sandwiches, salads, and simple lunch/dinner items like baked ham, chops, chicken, etc. There were a few kids and senior choices also listed. Very limited drink choices, as well; just a few sodas, coffee, tea, OJ, and milk. (No milkshakes?!) I opted for the chicken taco salad, and was immediately a bit dismayed by the dressing choices. Just your basic salad dressings; I requested ranch but with a side of salsa to kick it up a bit. Girlfriend opted for chicken tenders, corn, fries, and a dinner roll, with semi-sweet tea. My salad overall was okay; the shell was nice and crisp, the chicken was seasoned and plentiful, but there could have been more cheese, and maybe some chopped onions and black olives, as well as a more appropriate dressing, like a chipotle ranch. Barb's chicken tenders were very good; flavorful and juicy. The fries were crispy on the outside, but still with a pillowy center. The corn was apparently frozen, as it was a bit chewy, but was served in way too much liquid, and she had to ask for butter. Her dinner roll was originally forgotten, but then a couple freshly warmed ones were brought out, which were good (though also without butter). Her tea leaned a bit on the sweet side, but was good.

And, having eaten in almost all…read moreof the restaurants that have occupied the space, I found that the staff and cooks at the Freeway Dining Room are top notch. You can tell from the pictures that the portion sizes are tremendous, but what you cannot tell is that the flavor is outstanding. The place was neat and clean. The staff was friendly and attentive to all of our needs, making sure we were well taken care of. My family and I will definitely be making a second trip to this place very soon.
