Food is not like before. Very little guacamole on the rolled tacos or whatever you order with quac. I ordered some carne asada fries today and the fries weren't cooked all the way. Last visit they messed up on my order and mixed it with another persons order. And they say that there's never any management to help or that the owners are out of town. My girlfriend is the one who introduced me to this place cuz she claimed it was better than the almighty King Taco which is serious blasphemy to me.......while it's nowhere in the same league at KT...El Mariachi makes some GOOOOOD food. I've only tried 4 of the items, and can tell you that the california burrito (which i have customized with french fries instead of potatoes and no pico de gallo) is my favorite. You can call in your order beforehand because sometimes it takes a little while to get your food but if you're with a friend it doesn't matter too bad. There isn't much seating so avoid peak hours as much as you can. The other items I've had are the carne asada burrito which is sumptuous and juicy and just amazing, the carne asada fries which are good (w/out guac) and their tacos which are ok, but not the greatest. Their best salsa though definitely has to be their green one. The reds are good but have a weird taste to it, whereas the green has a very welcome flavor and light kick (i love a good kick but this one's just right). If you're in the area or traveling on your way to Palm Springs, I highly recommend stopping off here. read more

Customer Service here is terrible! I had heard that from friends but didn't believe it. Tonight I now know what everyone was talking about. We LOVE El Mariachi, we come here probably once a week and order the same three things, super nachos with grilled chicken, carne asada fries, and taquitos aka rolled tacos. Tonight we ordered the same things and half way home when I checked the boxes I noticed none of the cheese was melted. Yuck! I tried tasting it and it was gross, cold shredded cheese does not go well with grilled chicken and chips. So I called to ask them to remake them and was told by the woman on the phone that it would be the same because it's their process and they never melt their cheese. Ummmmm that makes no sense, I have ordered each of these items AT LEAST 20 times and have never had this happen. I asked if they changed their process and she kinda snorted and me and said, "no ma'm, it's the same process" My husband then took the food back and was told the same thing that if they just re-make it they will all still have cold unmelted cheese. I do not understand where this attitude is coming from, what do they have to loose from making it again and making special effort to melt the cheese?? We then just asked for our money back and she had to take pictures and fill out paperwork before we could get the money back and she kept taking other customers as they walked in instead of focusing on helping us. This is NOT the way to keep customers. I am SO SO sad. I have told so many people about El Mariachi and have raved about their food, I'm so sorry to say that I don't think I will be going back again. read more

this place can be a hit or miss to be honest. sometimes the food is good but other times it's not. i usually come here for breakfast burritos. i've had the carne asada tacos but the meat has no flavor. when i tried their enchiladas, they just didn't taste good. but their taquitos aren't bad. also, prices are high here in my opinion. compared to the quality of the food, it's just too much. but the girls working the counter are always friendly. i pretty much come here because i live down the street and stick to my regular food choices. read more

I had high hopes for this place, because my friends are always talking about how good the food is at El Mariachi's. It was my first time and I ordered the Carne fries. They were good, that's why I decided to give 3 stars. I probably won't be back though, because the service is horrible! I was greeted by this young girl with thick patchy eyeliner and a stain on her shirt, who seemed irritated to take my order. I don't know if she was having a bad day, or if that's just how the owner allows their employees to treat their customers. All I asked for was some extra guacamole and sour cream. The young lady at the register then scowled me as if it was too much to ask for! Then she continued to have a bad attitude as I ordered the rest of my food. I didn't even want to ask if she put utensils in my bag because she was already being rude. I will probably come back if they drastically improve their customer service. Went tonight to get dinner. Got the 2 chicken tacos and quesadilla for my 3 year old. Definitely not the chicken I remember from last year. The food is ok, not great. What bothers me is the total lack of enthusiasm or friendliness of the people taking your order. Can you at least try a little? I went tonight and there was a young woman who was actually super nice and helpful, she may be new. The others give you one word answers and make you feel like a number, not an actual person. This definitely should be addressed by the management. Beaumont Taco Company is by far superior for food, general atmosphere, and friendly service. I hope El Mariachi cares enough to address these concerns. I buy street tacos frequently and may be a frequent customer if they did. read more

This is my second time at El Mariachi. As soon as I walked in I was taken back to my childhood visiting my aunts house, and spending the whole day there playing and eating great mexican food. I had a carne asada burrito and it was fabulous. My fave is the green salsa. I will def be back to try other menu items. read more

From the homemade tortilla to the fresh salsas, the food is very authentic and very good. The restaurant is located in a strip mall and seating is very limited. Lots of good choices on the menu including breakfast. No beverage bar and refills are .25. The rolled tacos (taquitos) are great and you get a dozen of them for about $6. Ask them to put the sour cream and guacamole on the side otherwise they put a lot right on top of the pile of taquitos. It looks fantastic but is a mess to eat. read more
