I'm really sad that the quality of this place has gone down & prices have gone up since influencers started blowing up this place. This was my childhood market & I always loved the quality before. This is the second time I purchase flan & it's burnt. The bottom was inedible it was just a hard brick of bitter burnt sugar. Very clean store! SO MUCH VARIETY!!! We went in for bolios, left with sweet bread and champurrado too! The people were helpful and kind there very efficient and the check out was so fast especially awesome for how busy it was, I was very impressed! Star moment for us was that, we asked for a horchata and the staff member tested the horchata for us first to make sure it was okay. Since they make it daily, he was not comfortable selling it to us and it was totally understandable since it was the end of the day. read more

Very difficult for them to understand your English and the wall menu isn't exactly English speaker friendly. The lines and crowd is not organized, and ppl slip in and out of line to make you wonder if ppl are cutting in line or not. Overall, the experience sucks and definitely can be frustrating. Every year I look forward during Easter When La Reyna makes capirotada dessert, I finally got the chance this year and all I found it was already pre-pack and ready to go, ( I usually get it from the counter) I was so exited it look darker and way wetter than before, I was so disappointed, I try eating it but it was disgusting. Let's start off with the rice and beans The rice itself 5/5 cooked in this tomato paste topped with peas and came out really good. The beans I got refried 4/5 I should have gotten black. Excellent Customer Service!!! Karla and Don Sergio went above and beyond to help me and did it with smiles on their faces the entire time! I had a lot of questions and they both took the time to help me. The masa was amazing, the salsas are delicious! The quality of the stores products are a great quality. Karla and Don Sergio are exactly the people who you want working in your store. I'd also like to thank the gentlemen working at the meat counter, super nice guy! I came all the way to this store because I was treated HORRIBLY at the ANAHEIM store when I went to buy masa. It was so bad I would never go back to that store and I have warned my family and friends about the horrible way I was treated by the woman at the masa counter and the woman at the bakery counter. I have been coming here for years! This market has been a staple in the City of Orange forever. The Pan Dulce is 10/10 and I always load up my plate. I also really like the Chicharron that they sell by the pound. The Mexican food that they sell in the back is pretty solid too. A lot of good drink selections and just random snacks. I also like to buy my Cafe de Olla ingredients here like Piloncilo, Canela, and Cloves. The lines go pretty quick, they are good at getting people out of the door when it's time to pay. This "hole in the wall" Mexican market is and will always be a part of the community of Orange and is on my list of places I frequently visit. The only downside about this place is that the parking can suck at times, but if you're patient it is work it. From the moment you walk in, you see all their choices of meet ranging from basic carne asada all the way to wagyu. Turn a quick left and then you are in the world of every fresh Mexican bread you can want. If you come here, don't be shy. Just load of a large pizza size tray with tons of different breads and you wont be surprised. Additionally they even have a small little area where you can order some amazing food to go. I came here after being rudely mistreated at la spiga de oro market down the street. This market was abiding by the social distancing rule and only allowing certain amount of customers to enter at a time. They allowed me to shop here with my cloth mask on and did not require a surgical mask. Their bread is so fresh and delicious and I will continue to give them my money and support.
