El Norte is my favorite taco spot in the Centennial area! Everything I've had here is amazing and I love their chilango salsa! Sometimes you have to ask for it! It's the creamy green one, but it's sooo spicy! It's the BEST! I always get the carne asada tacos or carnitas tacos! Their churros are yummy as well as the horchata. The customer service at the front is usually nice and friendly. We've dined in multiple times and have got our orders to-go as well. We love this place! read more

We came here to pick up a quick lunch- it was kinda planned but kind of random. I was in between work so we ended up placing a pick up order. It wasn't busy when we got there. I noticed it was really clean once we walked in. The menu is very versitile which I enjoyed. Although keep in mind it is all Mexican food :) They are known for their street tacos. The queso birria tacos were definitely the highlight. The carnitas were a little on the dry side (not sure if it was just that day) but everything balanced out. The horchata was really good! This is one of the better taco shops around this side of Vegas levels above Roberto's and the other spots in the area. The shrimp tacos are the best thing on the menu in my opinion. Only downside to this place is they open late and close early around 9 for Vegas being a service town that kind of sucks. Pricing is on the more expensive side, good thing the food is good. One thing to remember before coming here is NO BREAKFAST AFTER 1PM. Some of the chefs get a real stick up the butt if you ask. The owner should see how many of us they turn away. Those eggs must turn to stone or go right back into the chickens ass at 1pm apparently. read more

Our favorite Northwest Vegas Valley taco shop! We've only tried 3 but since finding El Norte we haven't had a reason to keep searching. Nice sized open dining area with a bar surrounding the center area (no smoking, no gaming). Staff has been friendly and prompt with their attention. We have always ordered to go or called ahead for pickup. Shrimp taco is my favorite. Plump huge fried shrimp and the aioli has the right amount of smoky kick paired with the jalapeños. Birria is tender and juicy and the street tacos are delicious. Taco El Gordo is still my fave but being close to home El Norte is my go to. read more

This place is a mixed bag of emotions for me. Some stuff was executed well and others not so much. The food is hit or miss from our experience here. We started with chips and dips. The guac tasted very basic and no different than that of the guac in little cups from the store. The beans and salsa were very good though and the chips were crunchy and delicious. I ordered the California burrito, my girlfriend ordered 3 tacos, and my brother got a quesadilla. I think he had the best entree at the table. The California burrito was flavorful but it had so much grease leaking out of it from start to finish. But my girlfriend's tacos were literally just soaked in grease. I wish I had taken a picture of them. The tortillas were soggy from all the grease they sat in. I'm not sure who was in the back that day but that was clearly their F game. The service was alright. The woman taking our order didn't appear to care if she was there or not. But the food came out quick. The ambiance was very bland and empty. It felt like no care had been taken in designing the inside and it felt soulless. There's far better places to get tacos than this. Yes it's cheap, but the guac wasn't real. The chips were really good they were like Doritos. I also really liked the salsa which you can tell is made in house. The tacos were REALLY soggy and the meat didn't taste of good quality. I didn't even eat my tacos. I wouldn't go back personally. The food here is undeniably delicious--everything I tried was packed with flavor, and the Chilanga sauce is next-level. Definitely the kind of food that makes you want to come back. However, the service could use some improvement. When I respectfully mentioned to the owner that the service didn't feel very welcoming, his response was, "This isn't McDonald's, it's just a taco shop." That was extremely off-putting. I understand people may be short-staffed or under pressure, but how you treat customers matters--because they're the ones keeping the business alive. Tonight husband and I were in the neighborhood and we stop for a quick bite to eat. He got Taco dorado and the shells fried dark , looked like it was fried in old grease. I had the 3 street taco special carne asada and Al pastor. Carne asada taco was eh. Rice tasted like it was a day old and beans taste like canned rosarita beans. Al pastor Taco was very greasy I couldn't eat all of it. 30 minutes to an hour later I threw up that al pastor and the grease it, was so disgusting. Definitely not real Mexican food here. Can by yesterday because my wife was craving carne asada fries. We yelped for some nearby places and El Norte Taco Shop was suggested. We always wanted to try it so we gave it a go. We ordered the carne asada fries (obviously) and the two price combo plate. Fries were well portioned and tasty, it could've used some more fries. Combo plate was good, only complain is that the flauta was definitely cut in half and sold as 2 pieces. I wasn't completely bothered because the meat was good.. although I asked for chicken and it was beef. Last tibet is- I was overcharged. I didn't catch it when I was there but when I was driving home I couldn't math out how the two items were $33 I went back onto their Yelp to look at their menu and the last photo was a moth ago. My total should've have been about $26. I also took into consideration that the price might have gone up, but that still wouldn't be close to the difference. Ordered: Carne Asada Fries: $12.99 after taxes $14.05 The fries where a standard straight cut fry that were seasoned with seasoning salt topped with refried beans, nacho cheese, carne asada that had a great flavor soft and juicy but some pieces were hard gristle.
