A bit of a whole in the wall located in a strip mall. The lady who took our order was very nice and answered all of our questions. We tried a shrimp taco, fish taco, and Mexican pizza. Each item was really great, especially the pizza. I was also impressed with the quality of the shrimp, fish, and beef. Everything was great. I tried Serrano's today since it had high reviews. Honestly, I'm not sure why it's rated 4.7. Maybe folks appreciate the courteous friendly customer service so they're compelled to rate higher but I don't believe it's truly based on the food...or maybe I ordered one of their lesser quality items. I ordered ground beef enchiladas a la cart for $8.93. Great price and satisfactory portion for the price. They were kinda small enchiladas, tasty but not much depth of flavor. I appreciate the amount of meat in each enchilada. It wasn't overwhelmingly too much meat for the tortilla. Perfect amount of ground beef with a decent sauce and a side of sour cream. Just wish the takeout utensils were better. I'm so tired of getting cheap flimsy small utensils that I can't eat with. So, overall I liked the great customer service. Would I drive clear access town for the food....nope. If you're looking for a reasonably priced decent bite to eat on your lunch break, give them a try. read more

Home-style Mexican cooking is something I'm always searching for... The Mexican pizza was easily the best I've ever had - layers of crisp, melty, saucy goodness with tender asada on top. It kept its crunchy bottom all the way to the last bite. We also tried two seafood tacos, one grilled fish and one shrimp. Both were tasty, though I wasn't a fan of the ranch sauce and Chipotle mayo. I love ranch, just not with Mexican food, so next time I'll ask if they have crema instead. This is a true hole-in-the-wall where you order at the counter before grabbing a seat. The service was incredibly friendly, with a lovely woman answering all our questions. Once we sat down, we were brought complimentary chips & salsa. The chips were fresh and delicious, but the salsa wasn't for me - extremely watery and mostly raw onion. Still, I'd come back for that pizza all day long, and I'm already eyeing the crispy tacos for next time. Prices are very reasonable, portions are hearty, and the hospitality was genuine. Amazing food, solid portion sizes, and fair prices. The staff is very polite and always friendly. Best breakfast burritos in town, and the machaca is top tier. We enjoy coming here for the great food, but the staff being as courteous as they are is what I really appreciate. I ordered 4, and should have only ordered 3. Guess my eyes were bigger than my stomach. This was good, but it did not have the condiments that I am used to with street tacos. Radish, lime, etc. I put both the red and green sauce and salsa on my tacos which made them even better. Super Burrito - This was huge, my daughter was only able to finish half. Was going to order the fajita until she shared the specials. Glad I did not, because I probably would have had leftovers also. I wanted to try the Mexican pizza; next time. Then there was the disappointed fajitas, not on a sizzling platter smelling amazing, not juicy and fresh, but overcooked and soooo dried out. No sides of sour cream, guacamole, any veg. No bueno! Edible, but not good. Their house salsa was ok, no spice, their 2 spicy salsas not good, not spicy. Carne asada burrito was the best of the 3 items we tried ( where was that carne on our fries). Most Authentic Mexican food I have found out here in Las Vegas. A little mom and pop whole in the wall restaurant that has superb customer service and delicious food. I've tried what feels like a million Mexican spots out here but I always end up coming back to Serranos. The table salsa alone keeps me hooked. It actually tastes fresh made, I love that perfect crunchy onion in it. Flavor is on point every time. And they don't play games with the chips and salsa. It's free and they'll bring you more no attitude. Their burritos are massive. The meat is good too not chewy not hard just cooked right and seasoned good. A regular burrito already comes with rice beans and cheese which is how it should be. If you want to upgrade to a super you can add guacamole sour cream lettuce and all that. Way better than certain other spots that hand you a tortilla with meat and guac only like that's normal. It's a real mom and pop shop and you can tell. We waited to order and watched the cashier greet every single person warmly and take the time to make sure they got what they wanted. This is a place where you order at the counter and they bring it to you. What really made it above and beyond was the fact you were checked on to make sure everything was up to par and you had what you need. It wasn't you paid we brought the food and oh well they actually care. Their food is really good. It has great flavors and tastes fresh. My burrito I got was so loaded with meat that not even halfway through I was full. My husband got their carnitas burrito and added shrimp (2 dollars extra) and it was loaded. Great service and very nice people but I gave this place 3 different chances and I personally believe it is average at best. I ordered a breakfast burrito with machaca, paid $15 and I'm not exaggerating but it was 85% potatos, 5% eggs, 3% cheese and 2% machaca. My family and I love Serrano's. If you're looking for good cheap Mexican food, this is absolutely the place. I've seen a lot of expensive and not so good Mexican restaurants here in Vegas, so this place is heaven sent! The place is family owned, food made by two parents and the front is run by their two sons and one of their nephews. Service is always top notch and very friendly. You can tell that the older son who works the front is very proud of what they do and make there and it's so great to see. Over the course of several visits, we've tried several dishes including enchiladas, the super burrito, carne asada plate, asada fries, and our favorite which is their breakfast burrito. Everything made with love and soooo delicious. The burritos are always a great choice here, they're a big portion and always tastes great and fresh. Their horchata is also fantastic and very refreshing. I love their tortilla chips, freshly fried and salted. Their red sauce is the BEST!! We always take our food to go and it's always top quality even after we get home. I can't imagine how great the food is if you eat in. Serrano's is definitely one of favorite places here in Vegas. For the last couple of years, my wife and I have been eating out less. It just seems like everytime we go to a restaurant, we feel, like we are getting ripped off. Between lackluster food quality and terrible customer service, the value for our money feels terrible. It makes me happy to say that there are still great local places with fantastic food at terrific prices. We went to Serranos, based on a couple of recommendations from friends. I'm so glad we did. The restaurant is in an older strip mall off Rainbow Boulevard. Its very clean inside, with plenty of seating. We ordered the Mexican Pizza with carne asada and a shrimp burrito. We also got a pineapple agua fresco. Everything was delicious and made fresh to order. The Mexican pizza is a must try, absolutely delicious. It alone guarantees we will be back again. The shrimp burrito was so flavorfull and very filling. Portions are very generous and they even give you chips and salsa complimentary with the meal. Vanessa who took our order was absolutely incredible. She assisted us with our order and asked what kind of spice level we enjoyed and brought us multiple different salsa to enjoy. She checked on us regularly and even assisted us when we had left over food to take home. The customer service I had here was better than some high end restaurants, I have been to recently. Located in a shopping strip with plenty of parking, the vibrant atmosphere is complete with lively Mexican music and a busy dining area. The server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering complimentary chips and salsa, with additional refills available for a small charge. The daily special, showcasing fall-off-the-bone short ribs in a spectacular sauce, served with expertly cooked rice and beans, was a true highlight. Upon requesting a modification to the nacho supreme, they agreed to replace nachos with fries. The resulting dish consisted of substantial crinkle-style fries smothered in carne asada, cheese, beans, and pico de gallo, with guacamole and sour cream served separately, priced at $8.99. The little got the same thing but it's called Chile Fries $8.99 with just enchilada sauce and cheese topped with carne asada. She is very picky and she loved the dish! (High-five) When I ordered the combination hard shell chicken taco with a Chile Relleno, I asked about the preparation timeline and method, as I've found that most places prepare it ahead of time and reheat it. I was informed that they prepare it on the flat top in the morning and reheat it on the flat top when ordered, which aligns with my own preference for not using a microwave. It's not convenient for my family so don't know when we will go back. If I lived close by, I would probably go there more times. Also, I make way better salsa. Their salsa was like tomatoe juice with a little onion, and chopped tomatoes, I think. Wasn't the best I've had or the worst, but I could teach them how to make really good salsa. The carne asada fries needed a tad bit more seasoning, but the fries themselves had a great texture. Most restaurants will allow their french fries to be soft and soggy, but not this restaurant! Hidden gem in a strip mall. Cute interior. Very clean and welcoming. Old school Mexican restaurant vibes. Front of house younger guy with glasses is the star. Always warm, welcoming, attentive, kind, and professional. Older lady, I'm guessing the owner, is a bit more direct, no nonsense but still kind, old school approach. Love both styles. Breakfast burritos are the bomb. The often forgotten potatoes are what set them apart from other breakfast burritos. I wish there was a bit more egg but I'm just nitpicking. Solid breakfast burritos. I think I also had a carne asada super burrito one time. Very good. Salsas need a little tweaking. Good not great. Best part about this place is they didn't go overboard with the inflation induced price increases. I'm sure they could've, and should've, but they didn't. Price to quality ratio is insane.
