This is my most craved food in Beaver County, I feel like I ask to go to El Paso every time we go out to eat. I choose this place over Mad Mex, Emiliano's, and various other places. I probably go about 2 times a month. It is reasonably priced with big portions. Free chips and salsa. The waiters are always friendly and it seems as though your glass is never empty. The food is just good, I typically get the Shrimp Fajitas my fiance always gets the burrito Durango. I've not tried something that I didn't like. It has a pretty big menu, family friendly, beer and sports as well. So excited they are opening another location in the Rochester area at the old pizza hut!! read more

Every time I am here the food is excellent, the wait for my food is quick, the drinks are good, prices are decently priced, everything is clean, and the wait staff is super! They have gone above and beyond for my family, friends, and I to make sure our stay is as enjoyable as the last. We are such regulars they know our names and orders! Was out and about and had a hankering for Mexican. I checked Yelp and it gave me this business. I confirmed that they had takeout per their website, so I called ahead. Nothing. It rang and rang. Over ten times. I figured that they must be packed, so called a bit later. Nothing. I did this a third time around 8 Pm. Nothing. So I drove over. I was told that they don't answer the phone, sometimes, if they think the wait for take out would be too long. They lost a customer forever. I have been there a half dozen times. We ordered our food and I'm not even exaggerating; from the time we ordered to the time the food was out on the table.... was 2 MINUTES! I'm sorry but that doesn't seem logical.... so we're eating and all of a sudden I feel sick. I have eaten at El Paso at other locations here in Beaver County. The food is always solid. The is was my first time at this location. I got there just in time because 15 minutes after I was seated what was about 30% capacity turned into every table being taken. Obviously this is a local favorite. There really aren't any other options for Mexican food in the area, so I know that keeps them busy. My server was on point. Polite and timely. I had the Azteca Burrito (Shrimp Burrito) and some queso. Both were delicious as usual. The burrito is REALLY big, but today I was famished so none was left lol. If you ever get a chance definitely stop in. It's not a fussy place, very relaxed and laid back. TV's are hung here and the to watch sports and whatnot. Had such high hopes based on positive reviews. Took 15 mins for them to take our drink orders. I ordered a grande margarita and I could almost guarantee there wasn't any tequila in it. Just lime juice with a salted rim. The food came out way to quick and you could tell it was microwaved and not cooked fresh. Everything was swimming in sauce/cheese. Not good at all. This place deserves 5 stars all around! Every single time we have visited El Paso, the food is stellar. We've pretty much eaten everything on their menu, and never had any qualms. The service is amazing and I've never tipped less than 20% but have tipped MORE than 20% on several occasions. Sometimes the wait can be a little crazy, yes. It's like that when you're getting amazing food, and they only have so much seating. If you don't want to wait, go on a weekday for lunch or early dinner. If you're waiting a long time, that just means the food is great and lots of people want it! I don't understand why people complain about wait times. We went based on the Yelp reviews and weren't disappointed. We went on a Friday night and while the restaurant was very busy, we got in quickly. With a craving for good Mexican food I decided to eat here last weekend. The service is quick and the food fairly decent. The lunch specials are cheap and filling, that what I like to hear!!! There are two El Paso of these family owned locations, here in Chippewa and one in East Liverpool, OH. They servers start you with a basket of their homemade (I think) nacho chips and a salsa that is more puree than chunky. On this visit I decided to order "Lunch Special #9". Don't let the vague name deter you, 'cuz this ain't your lunch special surprise. This meal includes 2 deep fried rolled corn tortillas with beef, rice, and "salad". Now the salad is nothing more than shredded lettuce with sour cream and tomatoes, but you can put this on your two tortillas. I LOVED these tortillas! Crispy and oh-so-bad but oh-so-good fried beef. The rice was a touch bland, but this is authentic. The stereotype is that Mexican food is all tacos and spicy, but that is FAR from the truth. You want to put blisters in your mouth, then try one of the hot sauces on the table. I am still hard pressed to find a superior AUTHENTIC Mexican restaurant, but this is a nice place to grab a quick meal. And I do mean QUICK! I think Darren and I were in and out in less than 30 minutes. read more

We eat at El Paso once or twice a month -- it's consistent, fast, and affordable. There's little we haven't tried at El Paso, from the soups to the flan, the specials and the standard combinations. It's all good, especially for the price and the excellent service. The chicken enchilada soup is a personal favorite. I order the soup with Combination 4, for a great meal. I also like the molcajete, which refers to the serving bowl -- a traditional spice grinder. A rich broth, with the vegetable mix used for fajitas, is served in the bowl with a mix of meats. It's a great change of pace when you don't want a burrito or enchilada. The steak used for some dishes is a bit dry and overcooked at times, but the chicken is always excellent. I'm not a fan of ground beef, because it seems oily and fatty no matter where you have it. Go with the chicken at El Paso. For people complaining that this isn't "authentic" Mexican, I'm not sure that "real Mex" would work here. You can't serve mole or menudo and expect people to form a line at the door. My wife and I are from California, and my favorite Mex is "Tex-Mex" in the Dallas area. Only L.A. taco trucks come close. El Paso is about as good as you'll get in the Beaver County area. read more

Authentic (some of it) Mexican in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania. o.O This place has the generic Mexican vibe that most place have, but the food was great. They give you chips and salsa... not great, but not bad. I asked for spicy salsa, and this was sooo much better than the bland no spice that the automatically bring to the table. I got the Authentic Mexican Chiles Poblanos (not to be confused with their american cousin, regular chiles poblanos). They were perfect.. fried egg, gooey cheese, and nice sized pepper...mmmmmm. I enjoyed El Paso in part because it shares some elemental DNA with one of my favorite Mexican places in my old neighborhood in Ohio - they have the same carafe of salsa, the same "we recommend the combination plate if this is your first time at a Mexican restaurant" wording on the menu, and the same "Speedy Gonzalez" lunch special. Was it innovative? No, but everything was well-executed and undeniably tasty - plus, they offered more than 20 lunch specials, all well under $7, many under $6. I cannot make a queso fundido chicken burrito complete with rice, salad and guacamole for that kind of money without getting 89 pans dirty and spending an hour and a half in the kitchen with my sleeves rolled up, so delivering some of my favorite comfort food at a great price with good service is much appreciated. read more

Man, I can't say enough glowing things about this restaurant. I go to this place way more than I'd care to admit. If I could, I would eat here every day. In the interest of fairness, I am sitting here trying like hell to think of even one criticism, but I can't seem to pull any to mind. First off, no matter how busy they seem to be (and they are busy often), I am always seated immediately. Most of the time, before I even sit down and get comfortable, a server brings a basket of chips and salsa to get started on, which are delicious. They are crispy with a pleasantly mild flavor and the salsa is not extremely chunky (which I prefer, however I know some diners prefer chunky salsa). No matter your preference, though, the taste is great; smooth with a touch of spice, and the bits of vegetables add a nice little crunch. Their menu is extensive. Whatever you're in the mood for, they most likely serve. Whether it's common Mexican fare, such as tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas, or (possibly) less-recognized dishes, like queso fundido, the burrito durango, or pollo a la parrilla, you'll find an almost overwhelming selection, any of which should be sure to satisfy you. If you're not a particularly adventurous eater, I would recommend selecting something from their "Combination Dinners" section. They have over twenty options on that alone and most are pretty safe options. My favorite is the Number 23, which consists of a taco, burrito, and rice and beans. Their portion sizes are stunningly generous and can fill up even the most bottomless of guts, including mine. Not to mention the price for the gigantic plate of grub is under ten bucks. I believe it's around $8.50. The spices they use on their meat is fantastic and is never oily or greasy. The cheese is mild and their vegetables are fresh and crunchy. As someone who generally doesn't enjoy refried beans, I must say their beans are to die for; so smooth and creamy and topped with melted cheese. The burritos are stuffed to the max, as well. If you enjoy spice, do dribble a little of the hot sauce on your meal. You won't regret it. As if all this isn't reason enough to try El Paso, the waitstaff is incredible (if you know any Spanish at all, don't be shy. They get a kick out of it and appreciate the effort). These guys are exuberant, friendly, and make it abundantly clear through your entire meal that they take great pride in serving impeccable meals and want to make sure you're satisfied from beginning to end. No one is ever thrilled to spend money, but I gladly give mine to this restaurant. They are top-notch! read more

Heard good things about this place so I gave it a shot. First trip wasn't the best experience. Place was dead and service was slow. Food was mediocre and didn't care for their salsa. I did give it a second try and was much happier with that experience. Quick and friendly service with flavorful food. I can't remember what I ate but it had steak onions peppers and a delicious cheese sauce. I believe it was their special of the day. Still not crazy about their salsa but I'm not one to turn down some chips and salsa. I will give it another try when I'm in the area but it's not a bad spot to grab a bite. read more

If you like Chi Chi's, you'll love El Paso. But if you want authentic Mexican food, try some other place because this is not it. It's possible that salt is the only spice they know because everything was very salty and otherwise pretty bland. The burritos were soggy and the fish tacos looked unlike any taco I've ever seen. The children's taco looked like it had come out of an "El Paso" taco dinner box. This was a highly disappointing dinner. The good stuff: the wait staff was very nice and attentive and the red salsa in the cute carafes was good. I don't really get what all the excitement is about. I know SO many people who love this place. I've now been here four times (amazing, given how bad my first time was, but I keep being dragged here by others!) First visit--tried several items and none were worth eating ever again. Super disappointed. The second time was at lunch, so the fajitas were affordable, and they were decent. Third time, went with chicken enchiladas--not bad, but still not something I'd really want again. Most recently, I just went with a bowl of tortilla soup and an order of guac. Both were just average. When we said something bout it the guy was very rude an asked what we wanted. I ordered something else. We waited another 20 mins for. When we placed r order it only took 5 mins to come out. Food was EXCELLENT as always, service spot on....how ever staffs mask manners abhorrent. Many of the staff had noses exposed. The girl behind the bar (dark hair in a bun, glasses) didn't have a mask on at all, it was around her chin most of the time. She and other staff were playing games on their phones shoulder to shoulder and laughing/talking etc. Also, she was answering the business phone, no mask, and not sanitizing it between calls. When my waiter ( tall, receding hairline) came to the table to check my drinks etc his mask was around his chin, I had to prompt him to put it on. Staff coming out of the kitchen putting masks on (albeit improperly) leading me to believe they were not worn in kitchen. Also, standard menus as opposed to disposable and hotsauce bottles on the tables. This is a possible vector for virus transmission. Numerous hand sanitizer stations were around the restaurant but I saw none being used. I will not be returning during this pandemic, and will have to consider returning if/when its over. Owner, please respond with your plan of action on how this will be remedied. read more

I was in town this weekend from the DC area and my sweetheart and I stopped by here for an early lunch, right after opening. We tried to eat the night before, but they had an hour wait. I had one of the deluxe margaritas (would have preferred the large salt) and it was pretty good. The food was tasty, not too salty, just the right amount. The wait staff is polite and jovial, very friendly. It's very clean and I liked the decor. The music was a good volume and a good tempo (so often I end up in places with BLARING music) it has plenty of natural light in the day. It's all the things a Mexican restaurant should be and when we're in town we'll go back. read more
