Tried this place out since it was only a block further down from where I was staying and wanted to do a compare and contrast with the other truck close by. El Pique has more options overall, proteins and menu items. I stuck with the basics though and stuck with the tacos. The truck is pretty no frills, you're not going to find a bunch of sauces or toppings out to customize your order. You'll get their standard of cilantro, onions and radish and salsa. The tacos were good, solid but definitely not the best I've had so far. It's not that it's bad, there are other places nearby that have the same thing but tastier.

Best original Taco truck in Highland park, The food is delicious, try the Tacos, burritos and the Quesadillas!

The food is good, the staff is always friendly and there's a car wash to wash the car Win!

Taco taco taco !!! Throw your hands up in the air for tacos !! I heard Cali has the best tacos so I had to try! I was told by a trusted Californian that this was one of the best taco trucks. The carnitas taco and burritos were so good! The chicken is also good and the steak one is nice if you like steak. It's cash only and the wait is pretty quick. They give you this spicy red sauce and when u put a little on each bite- my god!! So fantastic. I've been by twice and will probably come again when I have a taco craving. There isn't much space to park as they are next to a car wash place.. we parked on the street instead.

Picking up the quesa-dilla.. and some taco.. gotta try this one out also.. gotta be good if your right next to la estrella. The tacos here are good. Hubby said that it is like La Estrella, I guess when La Estrella is packed I'll be walking here. Plus they have quesadilla. MMMMMM it was deish.. It comes with sour cream (no extra charge) little tomato and lettuce. Now i'm craving for one. The guy was friendly and was patient when I wanted to buy everything. LOL. Taco's- $1.25 Burrito- $4.50 I think the quesadilla is $4.25 They even have a little bench for you to sit and wait or you can get your car washed right behind it.

Huh ! ? ! ? Well...sh*t ! ! What...it's hard to describe what it sounds like to hear a donkey laugh... http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/xh_yxOrg_cnbVb83wRPDdw?select=TvzZrUkNWoCt9MYCAkT2GQ (No, not this donkey...) But it's like...snicker, giggle...RRRRZZZZQQQQKKKK !!! (on the inhale) Well, I heard it...it's cute...and she was kinda cute, especially considering it wasn't close to last call. It went down like this... I said something funny to her n' her lil friend and they both laughed... but on her inhale... RRRRZZZZQQQQKKKK !!! golly...well I didn't even really care...but everyone had a look on their faces like...whoa...did that just come outta her ! ? ! ? I just kinda laughed along with her, cuz it was cute. A whole lot better than a snort, don't ya think ? So I b.s.ed with her and her friend while they waited for their food...I shared my salad with her friend along with some nutritional facts about Iceberg Lettuce...uh huh...and they left. Other things I remember while I was here: - El Huero likes es-square-t ! - You CAN drink a burrito, if held in the proper position...(opening can)pssst...it's almost like opening a can of whoop-azz.... - Tough Guys DON'T eat chili ! (as in jalapenos...wusses...) - El Huero glows...amazing talent he keeps a secret...almost. Proof... http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/EPNQV298MQ0Oqb6OPc8t5w?select=0bGIC409ngdIinK7v0isVw - Wait ? How much...$22 for 4 Burritos and a Taco ! ? - Wow...This Burrito IS good, huh Frankie ? (Frankie face down in burrito...nom nom nom nom...doesn't even answer...ingrate.) - The people working there...really cool people, nice...really nice...for alas, manners are not done away with...quite yet. Well good times...when I go play pool off Yorke again...I'm gonna come back and get me a $5 burritah... Maybe I'll spot my donkey laugh princess again... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=En8E3KSyi8Y

Al pastor, carne asada, and carnita tacos. The drink is not from here

Okay, so the last review was left by my sister. She took me here today to try for the first time. And I was not really all that impressed. I tried the carne asada, al pastor, and carnitas tacos. I thought all were pretty dry, especially the carnitas. The carne asada taco was the best of the three but I've still had better elsewhere. Not too sure if I would come here again... but my sister and her husband come here really often. So I guess it just depends on the person...

Blech! I think I ordered the wrong thing. I should have stayed with my staple carne asada taco to get a good baseline, but I decided to switch it up and go with al pastor. I asked for a plain taco (solo carne) but it came with onions, which I had to painstakingly remove, cursing El Pique all the while. I thought the al pastor was greasy and flavorless and was quite saddened about wasting my money here. Mike F. kindly offered me some Mexican Coke to wash the taste from my mouth...holy cow, you could pour that shit over pancakes and you'd think it was Aunt Jemima. It's unbelievably sweet; I can't believe y'all were chugging it down like it was vodka...er, water. I am only giving two stars because there were limes and cucumbers on my plate, and I love both.

Now located just outside the parking lot at the Vons supermarket in Eagle Rock, it's easy to combine a trip for groceries with a quick snack or dinner in the parking lot. Their amazing tacos are still just as good, with the al pastor, asada, and chicken being my favorites, with a plentiful assortment of salsas, limes, chopped onions and cilantro, and radishes to top it all off. At 2.25 per taco, you can splurge a little bit without dropping too much cash (and yes, this is a spot where you should bring cash!) but they also have started taking Zelle. Be adventurous and order a couple different types and find your new favorite! This place offers very little in terms of ambiance, seating, or tables, but service is always quick and efficient even when the spot gets crowded--usually late at night and on the weekends. Be prepared to take your food to go, eat in the car, or stand around in the parking lot while you enjoy your food. Have plenty of napkins and hand sanitizer ready. Trust me when I say you will need them!

I regret not going to this place earlier... I've known about…read morethis place for a while now but never had the chance to come. I finally found time to come on a Saturday at night around 10pm and holy cow it did not disappoint. We were indecisive between two places but ultimately decided to come here and I'm so glad we did. It's a pretty big street taco stand located on the curb of the Eagle Rock Target parking lot. We were able to park in the parking lot and walk down to the curb to wait in the pretty long line at 10pm. We waited about 15 minutes before we could actually order our food. The first area is for the queso tacos and burritos. You let them know how many queso-ed tortillas you need for both burritos and tacos. After that, you let them know what meat you want but don't make the same mistake as me because they have a separate area for al pastor. You can choose what toppings/salsas you want! There's 3 different sauces, onions and cilantro, and guacamole that comes with the price of your item! Make sure to bring cash because I think it's cheaper but they also accept credit cards. Food: Queso Asada Taco (10/10): The tacos are LOADED up! The first bite was so delicious, maybe because I was starving. They melt the cheese and put it as your base layer on top of your tortilla. The asada was loaded up on top and I got all the salsas, onions and cilantro, and guacamole. The onions and cilantro adds a nice freshness to the heaviness of everything. The asada was cooked so nicely, there were a few bits of really crispy pieces plus a cheese pull. The asada was perfectly salted and had a smoky flavor to it. I absolutely loved this and will be getting asada in another form. Queso Pastor Burrito (9/10): I NEED this one again but with asada. Like the queso tacos, the cheese crust is on the inside of your burrito and it adds such a nice texture to each bite. The burrito is big and really filling. I have no other words besides, this was amazing and I still think about this. Queso Pastor Taco (8/10): I know that the pastor was the more popular one because it sold out a few minutes after we finished ordering. The pastor had a sweetness to it but overall was on the saltier side (IMO) and I wished it was more smoky. This one was also as equally loaded up as the asada but I personally preferred the asada over pastor. Pastor Potato (7.5/10): This potato was HUGEEEE. I shared this one with my group and we still couldn't finish it. The potato was massive and after eating your tacos, you're already going to be so full. This did unfortunately hold up the line since they had to cut a lot of pastor plus add cheese and wait for that to melt. The 5 of us were already so full, we barely ate half the potato (it's that big). Unfortunately, we all thought that the potato wasn't cooked enough. The potato wasn't soft enough and when we were trying to dig for pieces of the potato, it would just come out in blocks instead of mashed together with all the toppings. I also do wish that the potato itself was salted.

Just not super delicious. It's fine, but tortillas lack the depth of flavor you want, asada was…read morenot juicy and had next to nothing smoke or real beefy flavor to it, salsas don't really do it for me personally. Quesadilla on maiz solo queso was enjoyable, but $10 for a cheese quesadilla is a bit hard to stomach too ngl. Just doesn't have the little things going for it to make the bites truly delicious.
