I've been coming here pretty frequently for a few years on my lunch breaks as I work nearby. The food is always great, and the staff is always friendly. They take good care of their regulars. Sometimes I mess up my coupon on the app but they give me the discount anyways. I mostly use the drive thru but they still recognize me and remember my favorite salsa is green. I eat here because of the Keto Burrito they have - delish! I used to get the Pollo Bowl at the Yucaipa location was my go-to, but this location seems to dump extra hot spice in their beans and rice, and that kills any possibility of enjoying the meal. The Food area gross, and not sanitary. When I complained to the evening Asian manager, he told me I did not have to eat there. You got to be kidding! He was arrogant, unprofessional and refuse to have someone clean the areas. I will never return. This is unexceptional for any food business. The workers wearing gloves are to protect them and not the protection of consumer. They opened cabinets, and went back and forth in the back and never wash their hands, or changed their gloves. This particular location continues to be my favorite location for food taste, ambiance, and staff friendliness! I have been to other locations from Orange County to Inland Empire. The food is consistently good for me which tastes great. If there is ever a mistake on my order the staff always and gladly will fix it immediately which sometimes it's my fault. For example I will say give me the red sauce meaning the Roja but they give me Pico De Gallo, but no big deal at all. I keep saying this but I hope EPL brings back Cherry Coke! This is the slowest El Pollo Loco and everytime I go there I feel like I'm bothering them by making them work. If you ask for extra salsa then be prepared for the eye rolls. Were they running out of chicken? I understand it was maybe 45 min before closing time, but if they didn't want to take more chicken out don't sell the salad! Today is May 16, and my purchase was around 9:20pm. And the picture I provided was right after I opened it. No I did not eat any of the chicken. I have been visiting this El Pollo for over 16 years. Barbara, the Manager and Jamar, the guy who cuts the chicken in the back, always make sure that I am taken care of because I usually order off the menu. I can always be sure the place is immaculate with plenty of clean tables. I honestly feel like I'm visiting family every time I go there, which is about once a week. I didn't even ask for the food to go and they gave it to me in a bag, they called my number so I got up to get it and they just left it there on the counter and didn't even bother to hand me my food. Usually good. But this last time our food cold, they shorted us an order of tortillas, and the tortillas are much smaller than they used to be. We went inside to have more time to look at the menu. This place is a sad excuse for El Pollo Loco. When this place first opened, it was an absolute unit and I never had any issues with food quality or customer service. Our family enjoys the brand, we love eating from here but this location just lost its touch. The employees looked over worked and non-enthused about being there. I ain't asking for much, other than make sure my order is right, and a decent attitude (how hard is it to be respectful?). I've worked fast food my junior years of being in the workforce - I've dealt with petty people; but I was still a decent human. Asking an employee, hey you guys don't have any red salsa and you responding, "what about it? We don't have any, we're out" with an attitude is very sour. They didn't have the chickenless vegan meat we sought, but cashier Madilyn was an absolute rock star helping us with substitutes. The kitchen staff goofed up by putting cheese and sour cream on our tostadas though we asked for vegan versions, but they quickly remade our dishes. This place is always busy. So why are they always so under staffed. Never and I mean never get an order right. Then they promise to make it right and forget. You have to get angry before they come through. Their salsa bar is always low or something missing. The only redeeming thing about this location is Anthony the manager.
