We like El Pollo Loco. The units we visit are clean, run professionally, and the chicken is consistent. My wife especially enjoys the salad with avocado dressing and chicken. We are fans.

Chipotle chicken avocado burrito

I remember when I was living in Los Angeles a lifetime ago and El Pollo Loco was born. We loved the marinated and grilled chicken and because there was one close to where we were living...their chicken became a regular staple! Many times I would drop in and get chicken only, bring it home and turn it into a million different dishes! Fast forward to our current experience with the location in Chandler. We were there shortly after this store opened and made another visit in a spur of the moment decision for a quick dinner. We ordered the following: Chipotle Chicken Avocado Burrito: great flavor with a mild spicy kick to it. Everything was fresh in the burrito and just an good tasting one. Tortilla soup: full of chunky veggies like carrots and corn and onion with big chunks of chicken, green chilies, and a decent amount of cilantro. The overall taste was extremely bland and I think they thicken it with some sort of thickening agent because it was really a bit too thick...not really soup like. Loco side salad: fresh leafy greens with lots of tortilla strips and their creamy cilantro dressing had lots of great flavor. This is a great salad! Three piece chicken meal: chicken is worthy of five stars for sure. The grill is perfect and the flavor is so rich and tasty. The rice was flavorless and I think it was a bit too underdone. I skipped the beans with the meal. We also ordered some chips with guacamole, which was great. Chips had lots of crisp and the guac was really good with chunks of avocado and chilies. The salsa was a big no for us...basically just smashed up tomatoes with no flavor. I'm rating three stars only because of the chicken to be honest.

Keto Chicken Avocado Burrito

Overpriced and food is ridiculously not worth it. Tiny little burrito that should be for a child for $10. Wth?? I thought this included a drink or chips. If the burrito was enough for an adult I wouldn't mind the cost but to be served a tiny burrito with hardly anything to eat and pay too much for it is disappointing. Taking advantage of customers and drive thru.

Sad large salad

I am so disappointed. I eat here almost 3x a week cause I'm obsessed with the chopped chicken breast. I ordered a large side salad with 3 sides of chopped chicken on the side. And this is what my large side salad looked like. Mostly yellow/white from iceberg. No Romain, and that amount of salad was for a small. Of course, I didn't get my receipt, so I couldn't call in and let them know that I overpaid for a handful of lettuce. I always give second chances so we will see.

Some sides of corn and mashed potatoes.

Did you know that Brad Pitt's first job in LA was handing out fliers for El Pollo Loco, dressed in a full-on chicken costume, outside the location on Sunset and La Brea? I swear I'm the only person I know that hasn't had El Pollo Loco. I get the craziest stares from my friends when I admit this so I usually keep it to myself. Well enough is enough. I had to give it a try! What's so good about this fire-roasted chicken that makes people either love it or hate it?! I ordered a family dinner with ten-pieces of chicken with some corn and mashed potato on the side. I didn't know it was normal for them to serve you up a side of tortillas with your meal and I wasn't quite sure how to attack it. I ended up eating it like a chicken taco and it was good. I dig! Am I loca for El Pollo Loco? Ehh. It's a good alternative to fried chicken but I don't think I'll be going out of my way to grab some fire-roasted bok bok. Not bad though. I see you!

2520 w chandler Blvd chandler location .. terrible!! .. in all my years of eating here, today husband and I found 4 large pieces of foreign matter in the burritos. Mine had two round pieces of bones, size of a pink nail.. in his burrito he found a piece of a chopping board, that's what it feels like to me and then also a chicken bone the size of grape. I realize this is chicken from the bone but geez don't chop up bones and serve them to customers.. never going here again ! Watch your teeth people!

Tried the Chandler location of Dave's Hot Chicken and overall it was a really solid experience…read more The chicken was juicy, flavorful, and cooked perfectly, and the medium spice level was just right -- enough heat to be interesting without setting your mouth on fire. The famous Dave's sauce was also delicious and went great on the crinkle cut fries. For our order: * I got 2 sliders with crinkle cut fries * My husband went big with the large top-loaded fries * One kid got a slider, a strip, and mac & cheese * The other got a slider, a strip, and fries * We also grabbed some cauli bites to share * 4 Soft Drinks Everything came out fresh and the whole family enjoyed their meals. The price felt fair for everything we ordered including soft drinks, especially considering the portion sizes. The reason for the 4 stars is that we actually didn't go inside, so I can't really comment on the ambiance or customer service experience. Also, the soda was a little flat and didn't have much flavor, which was a bit of a bummer. But overall it was a great casual family meal with tasty chicken, good spice levels, and satisfying sides. Definitely a spot we'd come back to when the hot chicken craving hits. Overall rating: Great flavor, juicy chicken, and a family-approved meal.

No one was…read morein line inside so rather than use the kiosk we ordered at the counter and asked some simple questions that were all met with sarcastic responses. For example: Me: "What sauces do you have?" Worker: "It comes with regular sauce". Me: "Ok, what is that?" Worker: "It's Daves". Me: "Do you have other options?" Worked: "Yes but you have to pay". Me: "Ok, do you think you can you tell me what they are?" Worker: (points generally at the menu) "They are there". I understand people have bad days, but acting all high and mighty because I'm asking simple questions? I mean, come on stop being a man-child. Then when I'm paying you have the nerve to say the usual "it's going to ask you a few questions" implying the TIP I'm suppose to leave when you don't even bring the food to the table? It's insulting that this place dares to ask for a tip when they do nothing for it. So two baskets of chicken strips and some fried cheese for $50, and all 11 of my fries were room temp (yes, I counted them since there were so few). Food took 14 minutes (I assume the drive thru was a bigger priority). The chicken was OK nothing really special. As a business owner myself, I couldn't help but watch 1 woman behind the counter doing 95% of the work including all drive thru orders while the others just stood around. Therefore my guess is this place is just poorly managed, so in my mind I can't help but think about what problems they must have in the kitchen if the front of house is like this. Maybe we'll give this another try in the future but likely not. Also the place currently has an odd smell so I'm guessing they are dealing with covering up a sewage problem.

When I was living in Houston, I went to Jollibee several times. How was I convinced. The legendary…read moreAnthony Bourdain, who had a disdain for chain restaurants, said Jollibee was the exception. This Filipino fried chicken fast food joint has definitely earned my affection too. I visited their only location in the Phoenix metropolitan area for dinner on a weekday. Located in Chandler, parking won't be tough in the large complimentary lot surrounding the restaurant. Ambiance (3.5/5): I mean it's a fast food joint so you don't really go there for ambiance. It's similar in this way to other fast food restaurants we've all been to. When it comes to a fast casual restaurant, I mostly care about cleanliness. This is done at a high level there. I snagged a booth that was a bit dirty. A worker cleaned off my table without me asking soon after I started hovering around the table. Well done. Service (4.5/5): You can either place your order at the counter if you're paying cash or use your card at one of the self-service kiosks. I used the latter option. What's nice about it is that it's easy to customize your order. The kiosk was easy to use and I got my food within a reasonable amount of time (even with the restaurant close to capacity while we were there). Drinks (4/5): At fast food joints, you're expecting your typical soft drinks. Jollibee has that, but they also offer more. Which is a nice touch. I had a pineapple refresher. Pineapple is my favorite fruit so I couldn't say no. While a bit pricey, it was good. Food (4.5/5): Now, for the good stuff. Jollibee is known for a couple of things. First and foremost, their fried chicken. I've had my fair share and the chicken here is quality. When you think of fried chicken, you want a flavorful crispy exterior with a juicy interior. Mission accomplished. The crispiness is at a high level. We shared a six piece chicken joy bucket so you get all the different parts e.g. drumstick, breast, etc. and they all delivered. Another thing Jollibee is know for is their spaghetti. Yep, you read that right. Spaghet' at a fast food restaurant. And this isn't your mom's spaghetti. Instead of marinara sauce, as is popular in The Philippines, they use banana ketchup. Throw in some cheese and some sausage and there's your side dish. It's going to shock you at first as it's sweeter than what you're used to but it's pretty good. A better side than rice (even the adobo rice) or fries in my opinion. O and I forgot to mention, you're given gravy with your fried chicken. Dunk that thing in there. It makes it even better. You're probably already full by reading this but finish things off with a peach mango pie. They look like McDonald's apple pies but they are significantly better. Trust me. While the menu has a lot more than what I just covered, these are the dishes Jollibee is known for. It's a good starting point, especially if it's your first time. Pretty much anything Anthony Bourdain said was accurate. His thoughts on Jollibee included.

Love their crispy, juicy chicken. It's truly the only thing we typically get because we are not fans of the spaghetti, their slaw isn't to our liking and we don't do gravy, although it does come with the chicken. Used the drive thru this time around and we had to wait for a few minutes while the chicken finished cooking; asked us to pull up front while we waited. Good fried chicken!
