You know how you can't tell if some places uses the pre-mixed egg blend? Not this place. Cut your burrito in half and you can see the egg looking like it just fell out of the hen! The burritos here are never greasy which is always a bonus. It was also very filling and flavourful. My only criticism is that whoever was at the counter when I came to pick up my order did not read the take-out ticket. My burrito was decent, but they messed up my boyfriend's burritos twice so he was upset and didn't want another one. They kept adding stuff he hated when he asked for the same simple stuff over 5 times :/ Ambience was meh. I Will give the Tempe one a try since he says it's better. I was looking around for a tasty breakfast burrito the other Sunday and this place had good reviews. I ordered the regular breakfast burrito without cheese. I didnt have to wait long and I took it to go. I ate it about 10 min later, it was still a bit warm but it just did not have much flavor at all. Mostly all I could taste was the charred tortilla. The eggs and meat really had a very mild, bland favor which was very disappointing. There are sooo many other places to try that I likely wont be back. The 2 young cash register girls looked like they were tweens, their hair was all silly braided and they had juvenile makeup and tween clothing. Their hours show they are open until 8pm tonight. I showed up at 2:57pm and was stopped at the door and told I couldn't go inside because they were closed at 3. 1st it isn't 3 yet and 2nd it shows they are open til 8pm. Been coming to Burrito Express for 20 years and this will now be my last visit. I was looking to get a couple burritos to go but they couldn't even do that even tho they were still open. I saw a couple other groups turned away right after that. Bad employees kill a business. Had been planning to get burrito express for Valentine's Day for the wife. The Supreme Breakfast Burrito is the beat breakfast burrito around by far. They hit the tortilla with some flame to give it a nice char flavor to it. Ham, potatoes, cheese, plenty of bacon and eggs. They eggs are real, so it's like a skillet wrapped in a tortilla with amazing flavors. Alone it is good, but there is something about their red sauce that I can't get enough of, I buy it by the pint and eat to the last bite. I ordered tacos, but didn't receive tacos in my to-go box. I left and opened the box to eat my lunch and it was taquitos. Apparently you have to ask for soft tacos or regular tacos. They come with the chicken in them and rolled and the cheese, salsa and guacamole are on top. They call them fried rolled tacos...but those are not tacos...those are taquitos... I'm in this area frequently as I drive a bus. I usually have thirty minutes of down time and I was hungry. There is no where else to eat at this intersection so I decided to give Burrito Express a try on a Friday night around 7:00pm. It was very quiet, there was one couple seated at a booth and they seemed to be enjoying their meal. There were about 8-10 booths for indoor seating and the young man at the counter was wearing a face mask. I didn't know what to try and it's usually best to ask the people who work there what they recommend because they know the menu better than anybody. The young man recommended a chicken, potato and cheese burrito. He suggested adding egg and sour cream. This is not something I would have ever ordered. It was really good! Now I'm looking forward to going back and trying the breakfast supreme burrito. There isn't much parking for this little strip of stores located on the southeast corner of Ray and Gilbert roads. read more

I'm amazed this place is still in business. After over a year of boycotting this establishment for terrible policies and an incompetent staff I figured I'd give them another shot. I tried to do an online order however the app for online ordering is terrible. The name of the food items on the app doesn't even match the item names on their menu on their website. It doesn't give you an option to pay in store and the soonest the app will have it ready is 20 minutes. I wanted to clarify a couple things with the staff so I tried to give them a call. I guess the business still thinks we're in a pandemic lockdown because you still can't get someone on the phone or do a phone order. That was a major issue I used to have because they regularly mess your order up and there's no way to reconcile the issue without having to go back in. That doesn't always work if you're on your way to work. I usually like to give businesses a second or third chance but I guess this will be a lifelong boycott if this is how they run a business. read more

First, I like any place that uses homemade tortillas. I feel like it was good food for the price. We paid $17 for two good-sized burritos and two drinks. I got a steak burrito, which was really roast beef, not steak. But it was well-cooked and well-seasoned. They used runny decried beans as filler for the burrito, but again it tasted good. My wife had a chicken burrito which she said was super spicy. I could see this being a great place if you need a cheap and filling lunch on the go. I would eat here again, especially to try their breakfast burritos, but I would not make this a place on my regular list. read more
