I'm glad to see el pollo loco really starting to think out of the box and bring out new types of food choices other than the typical chicken legs to see how their customers react to it. Having lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The gentleman at the counter taking my order, Samuel I believe, was probably one of the friendliest people I've met. Very engaging with the other customers as well. Decided to stay since my food was going to get cold by the time I got to my office and I'm overall impressed by this location. Two stars because all their chickens are dry and overcooked. Yesterday, I asked for juicy and they gave me chicken that is burnt. I had it replaced for ones that were not burnt. Again, j had to drink water to swallow every bite of chicken in my mouth. I live close by, and I don't know why I even keep coming here. It's been like this for over a year. The location on Valley and Grand does a better job. Anybody knows how to overcook chicken, but it takes skills to carefully cook chicken in lower heat to keep the juices. This is one of the few El Pollo Loco's places that actually gets their orders right and the food is hot and fresh!

I have been coming here for a while and usually get good service. I have noticed though that the quality of service has declined. The person at the front counter sometimes dosent pay attention to what you want and they always spell my name wrong on the receipt (which doesn't matter to me, I just laugh at it). I also noticed that the quality of the food as gone down while the price of the food has increased. I still come here occasionally but not as often as other well established and delicious food joints. read more

This is the first time I came here. We usually go to another location between Grand Ave. and Valley Blvd. in Walnut, and that place is recently out of good chicken except burnt ones, so I am so glad that I have found this place in the city of Diamond Bar. I was really happy with my chicken tostada salad with the brown, plump pieces of "real" chicken this time, inside a nicely, evenly shaped shell holding enough lettuce and meat. The service is also fantastic; those ladies, the cashier and even the cook in the back, gave me a warm, friendly smile. There is no drive-through for this location, but I don't mind stepping inside for such a welcome feeling. I will definitely come back for a quick stop at lunch. It's amazing that Diamond Bar has so many good restaurants that I have not noticed before, especially around this area. This nice and clean location should be a model for others, especially the burnt location in Walnut since I really hate that one! read more

Adriana bad care cashier, inattentive customers, I ruined the day with poor care, such people should not work as a cashier

I absolutely love el Pollo loco, but I will never return to this location. I came here a few nights ago and it was somewhat busy, I ordered 2 chicken tostada salads, and when we received our order they gave us 2 classic chicken salads. When my husband went to the salsa bar he noticed there was a hair in the green salsa, so he told the manager that was nearby cleaning that it needed to be changed out. She didn't understand what he was saying so he had to walk her over to the salsa bar and point it out, where she proceeded to pick the hair out of the salsa and throw it away. Go to the el polo loco down the street in Walnut it's so much more clean. read more

We just catered a party through the Diamond Bar location Food was really good and fresh but what they advertise in their pictures is not what you get. They gave us chips and salsa for 8 people instead of the 70 people we were trying to serve. What a joke next time I will have the Taco Guy come . But the topper is I called and told them how upset I was and they said the chips are actually free and I should have ordered more. If I would have only known to buy more no big deal. But how embarrassing for me to not have enough chips for my guest. If I would have been the manager I would have asked for the customers # and tried to make it up to them. But I guess a sorry is all you get for spending over 300.00 . Whoops El Pollo you may have just lost a customer of 20 years. read more

I go to El Pollo Loco often. Although this is the closest location to me, I typically go to the Walnut location due to past issues at this location. However I was short on time so just went to this location. Bought a 3 piece combination with sides. Got home and the chicken was so hard and dry it was like leather. I called the manager that evening- Olga, she said come back and we will take care of it. It was late so went back the next night and the girl at the counter acted more like it was a bother, she did not say sorry just gave me another piece of chicken then as a after thought asked if I wanted a side. This has now happened 3 out of 4 times. THEY SERVE DRIED OUT, OLD, OVER-COOKED CHICKEN. IF YOU ARE TAKING IT TO GO BETTER CHECK YOUR CHICKEN BEFORE YOU LEAVE. read more

Great location! The place is clean and service is fast!

The churros sucked. It got cold in the 5 mins it took to drive back to work and the cinnamon/sugar wasn't coated on evenly. I've had it at other locations and was never disappointed. Definitely not coming back here for my churros fix. Jack in the Box across the street has yummier mini churros and only for $1 for 5 pieces. read more

Very clean with courteous staff. They even gave me a free drink because my food took a while to come out.

We have been going to this El Pollo Loco forever and we loved the old management, they knew us and were always friendly. The new management is OK BUT they need some work. A little over a month ago my husband ordered the bacon avocado tostada salad. They charged us $7.29 even thought the menu said $6.99, we asked and they had no clue. They tried to convince us that the difference was just tax. When we showed them the tax at the bottom of the receipt they decided to just give us the difference ($.30) in change. Last night we went back, my husband ordered the same thing AND again they charged us $7.29 even thought the menu said $6.99. when we brought it to the attention of the manager her response was, "well the sign is wrong, we go by whatever is in our system" (not the right response... false advertisement anyone???) where is weights and measures when you need them. To top it all off the salad had mushy frozen lettuce. Last night was the first night that El Pollo Loco didn't get a bell rung for them as we exited the restaurant. read more
