El Pollo Loco used to be my favorite restaurant. I am very disappointed in the service and quality of the food. I went through the drive thru and paid with cash. Cashier ignored me and tried giving me all coin change. I asked for dollars and he said all they had were $20's and $50's. I said, what about the other registers. I don't understand why he didn't have his manager change over his register with smaller bills. I felt like the person was being lazy. I ordered the double chicken bowl. When I got home I almost gagged when I opened it and it looked like bean soup. There was very little chicken and it seemed like lots of skin and fat. I couldn't finish it and ended up throwing it away, along with the money I paid for it. Not going back! read more

Went in tonight. This was my son's chicken avocado burrito. Um...there was no avocado and just had shredded leg meat. It has lettuce in it. It's not supposed to have lettuce. The next item is the Double chicken Avocado Bowl. Full of shredded leg meat, supposed to have green salad, instead full of iceberg. This salad is almost ten dollars. And the avocados were brown. This location has stepped up their game in the last couple months. The staff & managers are very friendly, fast & helpful. I usually come in about twice a week for the chicken tostadas, the last time I went they offered me the new beef tostada and I enjoyed it. The very unreliable DoorDash delivery service that El Pollo Loco uses cancels orders whenever the driver decides they are too lazy to deliver, even when a 20% tip was provided. The map showed the driver was blocks from the restaurant, never even getting close to our home nor did the driver bother to call for directions. DoorDash holds money for 7 business days which is criminal when they could just do an immediate refund. Never order online from this restaurant for delivery if they continue to use DoorDash. read more

Several people sleeping and/or living in the outdoor dining area. I visited this location a couple nights ago going through the drive thru. As I waited in line, an unknown male standing in the outdoor dining area, glared at me. He looked like he was attempting to stare me down or intimidate me. He was not eating or drinking, he was loitering. There's a serious problem with vagrants loitering in the area. As I drove towards the pick up window, I saw 5-6 other people sleeping on the ground in the outdoor dining area. They appeared to be sleeping on pads and were covered with blankets or sleeping bags. I find it hard to believe the people working inside didn't know people were sleeping and/or living in the dining area. What kind of restaurant allows people to live/sleep in their outdoor dining area? It's supposed to be for customers not vagrants and or homeless people. I won't return to this El Pollo Loco. I'm probably going to contact city officials to let them know what's going on at the location. El Pollo Loco is not a homeless shelter! I'm pretty sure El Pollo Loco corporate doesn't want individual stores acting as homeless shelters. read more

The female cashier (around 7:30 pm) was taking orders, handling money from the ordering customers, serving food and issuing to go cups (which she put her fingers inside the rim) without washing her hands after handling money. How nasty could you be? And what kind of pigsty did she grew up in? We are thought as children that money is dirty and we should wash our hands after handling money especially if we will be handling food. When things are right, it's only fair to give credit where credit is due. We decided to give this location another chance, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Maybe management really does pay attention to the reviews here on Yelp, and really do make improvements where needed. We have been here now 2 times since we finally blew our tops over what was lacking in both service and food quality. Both of the last two times, the food was very good, the person taking the order took the time to get everything right, and the person at the window made sure everything we needed was in the bag. We are sure glad that things seem to have changed for the better, because El Pollo is our favorite of the fast food chicken places. Hope this improvement continues. read more

This was another great meal at El Pollo Loco. I am obsessed with their new bowls, way better than a salad, tons of rice, breans, guac and oodles of cilantro, onions, salsas and the freshest, GREENEST (Do they dye them?!!) jalopenos you have ever seen.
