I have eaten here numerous times. I have given them many chances to better their quality and service. I normally enjoy El Pollo Loco's delicious food. This particular one should change their name. The chicken is usually burnt and dry. Many times I have been told they are out of different sides during lunch time. My husband and I had dinner tonight hoping to support local businesses. This is one I will no longer support. The chicken in the two piece meal and burrito was burnt and tasted odd. The salsas were bland. The manager on duty was rude to my husband when he asked for chiles salsa and napkins. Needless to say we will not return. I dont even know where to start on this one I have been to this location 2 times and both times I was disappointed the first time I ordered a chicken avocado quesadilla I was disappointed at the fact that they couldn't even cook the cheese correctly it was like they too the cheese out of the fridge after they had cooked everything and thrown it in this time I went for there burrito and there chicken wasn't only dry but very salty there beans tasted burnt all in all it was a bad experience i went during the night the first time and thought you know what it mite just be the night crew but today I went in the morning and found out the hole staff sucks read more

We had Baja shrimp tacos $6.99 for two tacos, and bacon avocado tostada salad $6.79. Apparently they have a problem with people taking drinks because they keep everything behind the counter. The el pollo loco on maple and main in hesperia DO NOT honor theie coupons. I have a coupon for the family meal deal for $ 20.00 for legs and thighs and 3 sides. Two times I went there and said they do not have it and is mixed okay? The first time I said NO give me my money back and then miraculously all of a sudden they could honor my coupon. I went there again tonight same thing happened, but the didn't take my money so I told them to give me back my coupon, in which they did. I drove over to Bear Valley and Amargosa, and they did not hesitate to fulfill my order. It is a shame I have to drive across town to get the order I want from the same restraunt chain. This El Pollo Loco used to be good. This time we went was later in the evening, so they were sure to serve us the chicken that had been cooked on the grill the longest. I typically don't eat at fast food places, but on this day I hadn't had breakfast or anything yet for lunch. I chose this place since it was close by. Located at a busy intersection, but easy to get into the parking lot. Large parking lot and plenty of parking spaces since the business shares the parking lot with a brand name grocery chain and some other businesses. The drive through was busy, but the inside dining area was about empty. Ordered the Ranchero burrito meal. Large burrito with some chips and a med. drink. They have a salsa/hot sauce bar off to the side next to the drink dispensers. It's fast food, it was good and at a right. I can't complain. read more

Alright so i have just recently become a fan of el pollo loco. Im absolutely in love with their cilantro salad dressing. Its amazing and they dont charge for extra! This is my location that i go to usually in the afternoon with my little ones. There is one girl working there who really stands out she is absolutely the best worker ive ever seen and everytime i go there she does a better job. All of the other ones need help from her a lot. Her nametag says princess laura and my son has a huge crush on her. Lol but he is only 4. I went here yesterday and the girl who took my order through the drivethru had to have been new and she was messing up right and left. So i drove up to the window and princess was there. My husband and I had an awesome experience on April 28th thanks to the manager Fred and staff. We had to call in a big order for a birthday party we were throwing in just hours away and the entire staff did it in just an hour! What team work! We were so glad they were able to do this for us as we originally had an order with Wood Grill Buffet that was put in a week in advance and when we went to pick it up we were told they didn't have our side dishes because they didn't order enough food that week which was a lie because a big party of 40 came in as we were waiting for our pick up. Needless to say we cancelled our order with Wood Grill Buffet and went with tasty and efficient El Pollo Loco on Main Street in Hesperia. Thank you again Fred! Recently I had a party and needed some catering done quickly. I called and spoke with the manager Alfredo who was very helpful in setting me up with a package that I needed for my guest. The day came for pick up and it was ready right on time with all amenities that came with it. I was even offered more salsa on the house for my services. I was here last night and the food was great, partly because I was very hungry! But, the burrito I had was awesome, I got the #10 Chipotle Burrito! It was a tasty, not that spicy burrito. The flavor was great and the options they for salsa are good also if you don't think the Chipotle sauce that's included is not top notch for you! The service was good! Especially when our order was ready, it was fast and efficient, everything was good. Their place is very clean and comfortable to! The weather upthere is quite cold in the winter, so make sure you put on something warm when you go up there and eat! I come here and other pollo locations pretty often on my lunch break when I want a small portion of nicely cooked chicken and some awesome mac and cheese. Not to mention the flan is back. All sounds great right?. Here's my story. I walk in to an empty lobby. Was greeted and asked what I wanted. I ordered a 2 peice leg and thigh, Mac and rice and a flan. Ok. Girl behind counter asks my name . She spells it lean. Like lean beef.. Ok so now I've already got my drink and my salsas set up and I'm thinking , wow this isn't usually how long I wait. Then she calls three groups up.I noticed 4 flans on their tray and I smiled. Glad it's back. Ok so waiting another 5 to 6 so in total it was about 25 minutes. Finally she calls lean beef up, thats me remember.My meal is across the room . She says we dont have any flan. My heart sinks. Oh well .. I get some chicken anyways. She asked if I wanted churros and I snarled nooo. She then asked if I wanted the money back. Well yes I said, as this made the most sense. Refund me for the 2 dollar flan. She then hand me 8 dollars and some cents. At first I stood there with my paw open. I thought briefly that since they messed up they were comping my food. Then I look down and then up and asked if I can get my food. She says no. You wanted a refund. ... only for the flan I said... I still want my meal that's now steaming in my face. She moves it and says you can't have it . You wanted a refund. Umm, I say. I still wanted the meal... you can't have it.. what?? She turns to her manager who isn't there and says hold on.. this entire episode up until now has been a 40 minute endeavor. As she disappears I turn and gather my things off my table I set up and immediately leave. I tossed my soda on their sidewalk as my thanks to them for ruining my one hour lunch out of a 16 hr day. Is this how you treat customers? Like I said, I am a regular el polloer. But not anymore. I will never return to an el pollo Loco ever again. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. The rudeness of the staff befuddled me. I wanted to pay for my meal even sans custard. No apology or anything. From anyone. El Pollo Loco is by far one of my favorite fast food places. It's one of the few places you can go to and not feel totally guilty about. I normally get the pollo bowl which is a bowl with rice, beans, and grilled chicken. Delic! I also love their tostada salad. Beans, rice, lettuce, chicken, sour cream, and your choice of dressing. I'm giving three stars to be neutral. I went in with my mother, and we ordered some avocado quesadillas. We both decided to upgrade the the "meal" for "$1.00 more." They charged us $1.50 more instead. Long story short - the cashier spent five minutes trying to justify over-charging me, because "That's how the register rings it up!" I spent another ten minutes convincing her to "Stop over-charging me, look at the prices on your menu, and do the math." She FINALLY figured it out.
