One gal handed another gal my bag but opened it up and showed her something and said something in Spanish and the both started laughing. I didn't know what it was cause I was in the drive thru. Started driving and reached in the bag to grab a napkin and the interior of the bag was all wet inside. Got back to work and a green sauce was spilled at the bottom. My husband left his wallet at the dine-in section and we called two days after to see if it was there ( we were looking for it everywhere) and they told me they had it. I haven't been to this pollo loco in a couple of years, and i literally live down the street, but I've had bad customer service before so i went today because i wasn't in the mood to drive all the way to la quintas location. So i go through the drive thru trying to order my meal but the girl kept laughing in the background and taking her time, so couple minutes pass by i head to the window so i can pay but that took a while as well. Went in on 8/31/19 around 8pm. I ordered an avocado chicken salad and noticed the avocado looked brown and rotten. I politely went up to the counter and asked if they could switch out the avocado. There was a lady in the front who appeared to be the manager. She explained why it was brown, but then directed one of the back employees to switch it out. As I waited there patiently, I hear an employee (a woman with blondish hair) say over and over in a rude manner: "Todos estan feos! Todos estan feos!" Which translates to: they are all ugly. I understand that she might have been bothered by my request, however, I was not about to eat a rotten avocado. I am shocked that they would even serve that to a customer. At the end, another employee ended up switching it out and no, the new one I got was not rotten. It was much better, but the attitude of that rude employee was inappropriate and the experience left a bad taste. I will never return here again! read more

For my Last Supper in Indio ( My kinda town, Not) and it was actually a late lunch, I rolled into El Pollo Loco. I had only been to an EPL once before and it was so long ago I don't even remember where it was. Being unfamiliar with the El Pollo routine I ordered a Grilled Chicken Salad which was very nice but gargantuan. After studying the menu board I thought it would have been preferable to get a side salad and a taco. More variety and less to eat. Anyway, I came, I saw, I ate and I survived. Nothing much doing at the Crazy Chicken at very late lunch time. Only three other people beside me. The best part about my Indio series restaurant reviews is this is probably the last time I will have to go to Indio and I won't choose to for a very long time. I went to get a 10pc at lunch for my family , upon arrival the line was fast , when i ask for an upgrade they said no, then the cashier ask some1 else and said ok to the upgrade .. When i was given my order it was 8 and 1/2 instead of the 10pc.. After they count and realise that i was short 2pc , they give me the two extra pcs ,but i was still stock with the 1/2pc.. It's the crazy Chicken!! One of my favorite fast food chains. It has always been the freshest and best! I frequent Indio and always stop when I need a bite to eat. The owner is generally always on-site and runs a tight crew of very efficient/proficient employees. Your orders are always correct and let's face it, the chicken is delicious. the salsa bar is great and is always fresh, neat, and clean. You wont find dried up old salsa around the salsa bowls at El Pollo Loco like some local taco shops. If you haven't stopped by, I suggest you do. Very POOR customer service & management. I drove thru and bought a half chicken order. When I got home and started to have dinner realized the chicken was extremely dry, the breast like cardboard! I called the store and told them. I was told that I could come back anytime with the receipt to have the order replaced. I took down the name of the person and was asked my name. Few days later I returned and told by the manager that he couldn't replace the order that only the person I spoke with could. Frustrated I called El Polo Loco Corp and filed a complaint. Came for lunch, got the spicy chipotle chicken burrito. Never thought I'd write a review for a fast food place, but the quality literally blew my mind. The burrito was soooo good, very warm, tortilla was nicely toasted. I would definitely come again and recommend the spicy chipotle burrito to anyone. I'm beyond surprised. I was even more excited to learn about their new rewards program. Which offers savings and bogo offers. Today I found myself in Indio and tried to use the buy one get one offer. After taking our order the manager said they were a franchise and didn't honor the offers from that promotion. Although it's advertised all over their store. So here's what they're doing. I use the drive thru and they are always friendly. No one has an attitude! Only once did I not have salsa in the bag. Chicken is fresh and tastes good, sides are good and I've never had a problem with the quality of the food. It gets busy and you have to wait in line, but the staff is apologetic and ensure you are treated politely. My orders are always right! read more

I gave this place 1 star because Everything about my take out meal was terrible. The was old, dry and hardly any meat on them. When I say dry - I could not eat it. I received 2 large sides with the meal macaroni and cheese - which was mushy The other item was the beans and they were ok The young man at the cashier when I walked in was probably the only pleasant thing about the place. I'm a frequent customer and I always have good customer service from the employees but when the general manager decides to attend the customers, it's another story. He is VERY RUDE and unprofessional! I asked him for a cup of ice and he looked annoyed that I asked him, he handed me the cup of ice with 2 pieces of ice in the cup. I then asked him for more salsa as they just provided me with one small half filled salsa, he rudely pointed at the sign that reads the additional charge for extra salsa of .50 (which is fine) but the way he told me was rude! Someone above him needs to ask him to just sit in his office and supervise or get a refresher training on customer service skills. I cringe every time I see that he's going to help me. Just got back from the drive threw at this horrible location!! This is the worst location I've been to. I love el pollo loco but try to avoid going due to the bad service here. Everytime I go here on my lunch break I have an issue. So today I decided to go on my lunch break. Went threw the drive thru and was there for 20 min!!! Isn't drive threw supposed to be quick and easier than going inside?? I wish that was the case here. I complained to the manager about how long i had been waiting he said it shows you've waited ten minutes since we took your order, I told him you don't know how long I waited to even get my order taken. Anyways I finally get up to the window and two different workers asked me again what I ordered. They seemed so confused and my order still wasn't ready. I get back and only have 5 more min on my lunch break to eat. Come to find when I open my meal they didn't even give me dressing for my salad so I had a dry salad. Wonderful... lunch ruined and I question why I even go there! This will be the last time I will find other places with competent workers and better and faster service to go on my lunch break.
