We always have chicken taco's here during the week - super healthy, simple, and they never skimp on the chicken breast for the taco's el carbon. We are HUGE fans of this small little restaurant. Tonight, I actually had one of their Ultimate Bowl's, and the taste and food quality was excellent - I needed something fast and great, and they served it up! And don't forget - this is super healthy food, super simple, and I applaud them for keeping it consistent, week in.... week out.... The inside is sometimes less than perfectly clean, but that's the only reason I'm not giving them five stars - a great place. I always try and eat at el pollo loco when I'm on the road... This food is traditionally very fast and yet healthy. However this particular restaurant was the exception and not the rule... Service was adequate but the food was atrocious! Flour tortillas were inedible and the chicken for the first time ever was undercooked and simply not good! I do not recommend going here if you are hungry or looking for a great meal. I was never so disappointed with fast food as I was yesterday. To top it off when asked what type of salsa I wanted with my meal I was informed that I would have to pay $.50 extra... Not for extra salsa just for the type I wanted! This place needs an overhaul. I'm going to start off by saying that I opened up a Yelp account for the sole purpose of this review . I have been to this pollo loco for well over eight years... when you do the math it's turns into hundreds of dollars over all these years. Today I went through the drive-through and did not notice that they forgot to put my salad with my lunch meal that I ordered. Once I got home I noticed it so I ended up driving back towards the location, once I got there the lady that forgot to put in my salad tried to give me the salad. I said I wanted to speak to the owner.. The owner came over and asked me if there was anything he could do . I said I wanted my meal replaced as the missing salad had ruined my lunch,the owner said NO..I told him that he would loose my business if he didn't ...he said"sorry to hear that" with a smirk on his face...I just want everyone to know. I do not recommend this location. This is the second time I had a bad experience. I thought I give it another try. Very dirty. I had to ask if they can clean at least one table so I can sit and eat. My order came with guacamole so I asked if I can have it on the side and I believe it was the manager that took my order told me no because they don't have any containers to put it on the side. Also this location charges for cilantro sauce when I don't recall other locations charging. read more

Stopped by earlier for a quick family meal deal. The girl who took our order really struggled, but once we pulled up to the window, Chanel, more than made up for it with her amazing customer service. She was very courteous, which is rare for fast food service these days. They were pretty backed up and there was another girl helping her expedite the drive thru, so we didn't get our full order. Rude new shift leader or whoever she was. No name tag, but said her name was "Victoria". She refused to make meals for my family, saying "we only serve what's on the menu" with a smirk and attitude. I'm telling you this is as good as El Pollo Loco gets... I don't know what it is about this location in Indio, but they bust out some of the best looking and tasting food of any of the el pollo locos (and trust me I should know). They consistently deliver and have yet to screw up my order. Plus their BRC's are bigger and fatter than any place I've ever seen. read more

The worst. CHECK your order before you leave!!! They always forget something if your order is family sized. This wasn't the first time they forgot something but the first time I was vocal. I came I month or so ago and ordered a family meal they forgot the large corn side. I called because I wasn't going to drive back and the manager said no problem... I said I didn't have my receipt and she said just come in and tell the manager and we will add it. Not free because I paid for it already. I came in today. Ordered and told the cashier about the situation the cashier got it. The manager VICTORIA didn't. She said sorry no receipt. I'm buying $50 worth of food every time I come. Why would I lie? Hands down this location has the best El Pollo Loco Salsa Bar! We usually get the Pico de gallo and avocado salsas when we eat at an EPL. Tomatoes were cut evenly (not choppy) and the avocado salsa was thick (not watered down) and had a nice kick of jalapeno. We ordered the 8-piece chicken only and the pieces were nice, plump and juicy. We are from LA and we eat EPL at least once a month, so we know how inconsistent the salsas and chicken pieces can vary from each location. We were in the area for the golf tournament, but on the Whole 30 diet, so we decided to eat some chicken before entering the course. This was the first time we had been to this location, but won't be the last. The staff behind the counter also greeted us hello and even gave us a goodbye as we left. On the way out, I made sure to tell the staff that they had the best tasting EPL salsas ever. Everything was clean and our order was promptly executed during a Saturday lunch. read more

El Pollo Loco has really stepped their game up. Husband and I both ordered chicken alvacado burritos and it was literally one of the best burritos I've ever had! It was big flavorful and was PACKED with chicken, most places pack with filler like rice beans sauce...Price was good too. First time there. Chicken was old and dry, like it had been sitting all day. Restaurant needed to be cleaned, dirty floors, flies everywhere. Inside was not busy, so we stayed inside to eat, no one made an effort to clean any tables...found a clean one. Quite pricey for what you get. Won't go back. read more
