I am/was El Pollo Loco's number 1 fan ....... until they gave me food poisoning. I ordered a 2 piece with rice and a salad as my sides and grabbed some pico de gallo from the salsa bar. Later that afternoon I had the unmistakable GI symptoms of food poisoning, which lasted until the meal cleared my system many hours later. Everything wrong with this location.... Rude service... there never breasts, 3 time in a row no pozole, no corn tortillas, orders always wrong. Took 20 minutes to get my order. Been here for 40 minutes and every one that comes in is told theres a 20 min wait for breasts. Its dinner time and the staff is not ready for the rush.... Every time we order from there they get the order wrong. For some reason my kids want this place. I know they should check their order ( even if they shouldn't have to) I don't like onions do I order no pico and they still put it on my salad second time that they don't send dressing. Went on 1/27 a Friday evening at 7:15. Placed our order and they told us they did not have any chicken. Of course that's pretty weird for a chicken restaurant not to have chicken. But I pulled my redeem coupon that would expire in 1 hour because it was opened to use. I went inside and the mgr stated nothing she could do. I could buy something else. But there isn't any chicken. I looked to their grill and it was full of uncooked chicken. Good Lawdy they forgot to add chicken to be cooked for the dinner hour. Pretty crazy and I'm sure their owner would not be happy to hear or see all of the folks not able to purchase for the next 1/2 hour of chicken being cooked. Maybe need a new mgr. read more

I decided to stop by once more and i was surprised , Manager Jose really made sure he listened to me and made sure my order was correct. It's all true. I've tried over and over with this location, but it lets me down again and again. Wrong order the last 2/2 times, chicken is nearly inedible sometimes, I've waited at the cash register to order while being ignored for minutes at a time, and I've even sat stuck in the drive thru waiting for someone to respond over the intercom for seemingly ten minutes one time. The employees probably never stay long, and there can't be a competent manager on duty, or at least one with enough staff to plug the holes. I'm staring at the rest of the wrong order that I'm going to give to my dog, wondering why I go back, but I know that it is because the people working there are nice when they get to you and they are probably doing the best with what they're given. Had to use "Curbside" takeout to purchase the limited edition Crunchy Tacos; I previously tried ordering it by drive thru but they said it is an online/app promotion only. I waited at the designated parking spot for 5 minutes after my "Ready Time"; then I just walked into the store that had only 1 other customer waiting for their order in the entire store. My order consisted of 3 Crunchy Tacos and free chips/guac for signing up on the Loco Rewards app. They seemed fully staffed (I saw 4 people working). Their drive thru seems busy; I don't blame the staff because I see them working pretty hard. But the cashier told me that they had no chicken for the Crunchy Tacos (what really?). So instead, I paid $7.47 for 3 crunchy shells that had only lettuce inside them. After 10 minutes inside, I didn't even get my free chips in the bag. I just left because there were 4 other customers waiting for their food behind me. Probably one of the worst experiences that I've had at a fast food restaurant, and I feel that I lost most of my $7.47 that I paid. Before this incident, I usually take the 'drive thru', which I never have any problems. So, I will come back to their El Pollo Loco often; I just won't order online or use their app. read more

Will call headquarters tomorrow to place a formal complaint. Their Complaint phone number is: 1-877-375-4968. I am giving the number because it took us a while to find it and the General Manager plain refused to give us the number, which she finally did after we called her back but not before she insulted us! Here is the full list of complaints about this location and their online ordering system: 1) If you order online and there is a problem, El Pollo Loco REFUSES responsibility and tells you to call the DELIVERY SERVICE. 2) The Delivery service varies (sometimes Doordash and sometimes Uber Eats) and their website does NOT tell you which delivery service delivers. So to find out, your only option is to find your delivery bag in the trash or to start calling delivery services hoping to find the right one! 3) Half the order was missing and there was only an EMAIL to complain, which does not help when you are waiting to eat. 4)The individual who calls herself the General Manager is the rudest, most impatient, insulting person I have ever met. Why does she work there is she does not like her job? Returned with my wife for lunch. Restautant was very clean. Overall a better experience. Order for dine in was accurate and really good. The creamy cilantro dressing was creamy. Only complaint was the gordita in my lunch box was quite tough. Service was excellent. Because of covid, the soda station is closed so when I needed a refill, they filled a new cup for me. I felt bad about having to toss a cup but I was still thirsty. We'll be back. read more

Went through drive-through and got the wrong order; almost left without my credit card as the cashier had totally been occupied with something else. At home the chicken was overcooked and hard, tortillas crumbled. Went back next day to see manager and all he offered was to return my money. While my friend ordered I observed that one of the girls prepared her food without gloves touching directly the food. When we asked for manager to make him aware he offered to refund the money. One other girl was filling in chips in paper bags without gloves and a cook at the grill handled the chicken with a thong but no gloves. This was my last time to patronize this franchise. read more

El pollo loco in la quinta as always never fails went in today employees working their butts off. As soon as I walked in the greeted me and told me they would be right with me. They looked very busy. I ordered a 3 piece leg combo with Mac and cheese and corn with flour tortillas. It was amazing. Love this place. Will be coming back soon. read more

Firstly I'd like to address Roger's comment on here & that is people are not being picky when they receive chicken so overcooked and dried out it is inedible.That is first. I have given this place 8 tries now with only one of them being okay. The chicken is so overcooked that it is drier than dry. Nasty...so I order the double chicken avocado salad, doesn't even ask if I want a drink I am in the drive thru & say hello? Hello? Get up to the window and the guy taking the money has his mask down & he was over where the food was as I drove up!! He puts his mask on & takes my payment.Get the salad, no napkins, no utensils, sour pico de gallo, (tomatoes were fermenting) means it is old! Chicken so dried out could barely chew it!! Burned bits... really inedible. Limp old romaine and frankly didn't look appetizing at all. So I was hoping it would get better or that it would be good like the one time I ordered the wings and they were good. But we are talking "wings" not the other chicken. They always leave stuff out of the bag, never make sure your order is correct and they just don't care. Love the TV Ad where they show this juicy great looking chicken dinner and how they deliver etc... What a joke. I went through the drive through and ordered a shrimp tostada salad. I paid at the window and they handed me my food. I saw it was chicken rather than shrimp. I told Thalia that I ordered shrimp. She told me they didn't have shrimp. I replied by saying I should have been told they didn't have shrimp when I ordered because I would have not ordered anything . She was so sassy with her response that it was appalling. I got a refund and left. I understand now why their Yelp ratings are so low. Sure hope management can turn this place around.
