Between the manager making fun of you for being a regular to the employees getting orders completely wrong because they don't care, the closest El Pollo Loco to my house is avoided in favor of one that's 3 times away because they know how to get your order right and not make you feel like an idiot for coming once a week. After my last visit in which I ordered, had the order read back to me and it was completely wrong, then clarified my order once again and yet when I got to the window the order was completely wrong. I went and stood in the drive thru line yesterday for 20 min with only one car in front. When it got to my turn the gentleman said sorry can you wait a little but it's just me working.... Not just him on the counter, just him in THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT... manning the cash register, cooking the food, taking the orders and probably doing the cleaning too. I proceeded to wait another 5 minutes with cars lining up behind me then decided to turn around and drive off for the sole reason that I felt so sorry for this poor guy. How stressful that must be to be left on your own to handle literally EVERYTHING. It makes you wonder why the ownership can't find or retain people... either way, needless to say, I'll never be back here again. My husband and I have come here many times. I'm giving it 4 starts for fast food. Usually, there are no issues. A couple pointers, I'd say, check on your salsas, make sure they are fresh. Last time ( 2 days ago), it was borderline fresh. Should be checked more often in the summer, just a heads up! Also, when I order the tinga burrito, I notice, the avocado is only on/in a small part of it, versus, throughout. No likey! Good thing is that the burritos are well-served. Taco salad great too. I placed a mobile order receipt check 8601. When I entered restaurant, there was another customer waiting at the counter waiting to place an order. The staff was behind counter over by the drive through and not one person came over to offer help, or acknowledge either one of us customers. I finally had to yell, "hello is anyone going to help us?" The staff person finally came over after we were waiting there for 10 minutes. She came over with an angry look on her face, and I stated no one had not acknowledged us, and we had been waiting there. She stated in a snarky tone "Oh hello sir" just plain rude to me and the man waiting to be helped. There were at least 5 employees there working behind counter. Then she said to the customer in front of me, "you need to order from the kiosk" He was shocked and she went over to try to help him as he was older and did not know how to use the machine. He ended up frustrated and just walking out and not purchasing anything. Finally she came over and asked what I needed, and, "I stated my mobile order is sitting over there getting cold". She brought it over, made no apologies for waiting, the terrible service or anything, nor did they show any inkling of care. Absolutely the worst experience! If they are going to kiosk orders only then it should be stated when you walk in. I feel bad this restaurant can't hire good people that care. Keep on moving and go somewhere else. read more

At dinner, just before I was to bite into a piece of chicken wing, I noticed that there were several feather stems sticking out of the skin. Last Wednesday evening, I persuaded my wife to give it another try because we both like grilled chicken, and she did not feel like cooking. On take out orders, I, like most trusting souls, didn't take time to look into my order before leaving. I paid good money for the grilled chicken and I deserve at least a decently grilled chicken. Horrible customer service they are terrible. They are the worse in the city. They should get paid less then minimum

I have been coming to the Pico Canyon location for many years and have ALWAYS had consistently great chicken and sides every single time, something I rarely experienced at other nearby locations. Sometimes I would just get a 2 or 3 piece meal for lunch or an early dinner, but yesterday with the playoff games on, I opted for the 12 piece family meal. I opened my app and checked for rewards and saw a deal for the 12 piece. So easy to use! I got the drums and thighs, big sides of pintos, cole slaw and a salad. Flour tortillas. It said "ready in 15 minutes" and then I saw the button for curbside pickup. Of note here, is that the first game was in the first period, so I paused it and headed right over (about an 18 minute drive). I pulled into a curbside spot, clicked "I'm here" on the app and in less than 15 seconds a very friendly woman came out with my order and she even gave me a full array of salsas, including my all time fave, avocado salsa. When I got back, pause was still on and I got back into the game. When I opened up the chicken, it was so perfectly cooked, maybe the best I have ever had. She gave me extra tortillas and those beans were world class and the cole slaw was just right. Sometimes we forget how hard people work to give us great meals and I just want to thank everyone involved for a great experience. And yes, I have plenty leftover for this afternoon's playoffs. They had no salsa in containers to take home. When I went inside the restaurant. It looked messy, napkins on the floor and dirty tables. They kept saying "we just open". Came in for a quick lunch with a friend. I think this location should have a higher star rating. The service was quick and simple. El Pollo Loco is moving towards a contactless system, so you pretty much order everything that you want and need at a kiosk. I happen to like this since I can just pick up and enjoy my food. The food was good, it's not hole in the wall status but it's good. Prices can definitely be lower for the amount of food but that's a company issue that doesn't not necessarily fall on the location. There was this older gentleman who went around and check up on the guest, I think this was a very nice touch and help to make the customer feel appreciated. 10/10 experience! read more

I visited the Santa Clarita location on Pico Cyn after a long hiatus and was disgusted. The place was dirty, and just looked run down. Ordered 2 chicken tacos and 2 BRC (bean rice cheese) burritos, my one time favorite. The tacos (which by the way are the newly advertised you see on tv) were cold and honestly gross. Didn't eat.
