I enjoy the food here, I really do, but this place is going to HAVE to hire better people to run the ordering in the drive through if it wants to stay open. The last three times I've gone, the drive through operator's language comprehension skills are just abysmal. Prime example, I just ordered a cheesy chicken quesadilla (an item literally straight from the menu) and got asked "do want chicken on it?" After saying yes, "so yes for chicken?" The other meal, I had to repeat an item we did not want on the burrito three times and she still didn't get it. I truly want to post this review because every single time we go or order from Pollo Loco Richardson, the service is amazing. They always have a great disposition and customer service is 5 stars. Today we even went there to get our lunch and the machines where down so kind of they were stuck and unable to provide service. We had called in the order and so ours was ready. Since they couldnt charge us or use our app coupons they told us to take it no charge, we insisted to pay cash and they said no, thank you it is ok....with a big smile. We left a good tip since it was not their fault and we had gotten lucky. Nice nice gesture as they easily could have just charged us in cash....but they couldn't issue a receipt. My partner and I were really excited about this location being opened but ended up being disappointed soon after. I found a small hair in my rice and inside my sprite drink. The cashier was also really bad at taking our orders. We kept repeating the same thing over and over. She ended up getting it all wrong. We asked for a small mac and cheese and we didn't get that. My bf didn't get dressing in his chicken tostada nor did he get his chips. Basically it was just a rip off and a waste of money. Very unsanitary to find 2 hairs in our food. Never coming back. The managers really need to work with the young staff there. I've been twice and both times they've gotten my orders completely wrong. It happened to my son as well on a separate occasion. I've eaten at this chain before and it was great. I would recommend waiting to go to this location until they get trained. We went through the drive through. The chicken is dry and overcooked. I went with my co-worker to try out El Pollo Loco on Belt Line. My experience was very good. I was greeted by a happy and friendly young lady who took my order. I had 2-piece chicken meal. The chicken was very tasty. The mashed potato was good. I just wish the portion was a little more. The salad was a big portion. My friend offered me some of her corn which was delicious. I tried their dessert (I don't know what they are called -- but it's long sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar). It was warm and very good. Another young lady came by during our meal and asked if everything was good. I have to say the service was very good, the food was very good and place seems clean. Very disappointed in the new store location. I have bought food here twice and had to turn around and return it, once I got home and opened it. The first visit, my chicken was raw and bleeding. The second time, the grilled chicken in my tostoda bowls tasted funny and the guacomole was spoiled. Both times I noticed a nasty smell in the car ride home and when I actually opened it, the smell was even worse. The second time, I returned the food, the manager had an attitude. I was polite and just asked for my money back and she still acted as if I should have just kept it. Very disappointed, as this location was closer to my home. Went to this location with it being new and never being to one before. I went inside and understood the challenges of a new location so I was patient. After waiting in line for a while I finally ordered. I waited for nearly 30 minutes on a Bowl and 2 legs. While waiting they were out of chips and queso, broccoli, and multiple other items. Instead of letting the customer know, they just waited until the order came out then when questioned about it their solution was another item that then took longer to prepare.
