If you came here to buy crazy polonecks, it'd be El Polo Loco, but that's not what's here, at all. One of my favourite chains in America because they offer great deals on very delicious fresh chicken, and it doesn't taste like fast food at all, not to mention they're very yummy, especially the very spicy green sauce that you can ask for. That sauce makes it all worthwhile. I just get the half chicken dark meat (legs n thigh only) with no sides and it's perfect for pre or post lifting, and only costs about $6. Note that if you get white meat it's considerably more money. Everything they make here tastes pretty good and this location is friendly and tasty and generous. If it wasn't such a big box chain, I'd probably give a lot of them five stars. read more

I had to change my review. I had ordered 2 Chicken avocado stuffed quesadillas. When I got home, I only had one in my bag. I had to return to the store to get the other one. However, I had to wait 20 minutes to get that. By the time I did get that, there were 5 people waiting for their orders. Apparently there was an internal problem, so we all had to wait for our orders. Normally, they are much better than this. El Pollo Loco reached out to me. They really took care of the problem. We usually go here for a quick, grilled chicken meal. The chicken is always well prepared and flavorful. The menu has items such as tacos, salad, meal deal for an individual or family and little sides like Mac & cheese, rice, corn etc. They also sell chips and queso plus churros. We've never had any major issues here except for one time, we received mashed potatoes that tasted like they dumped an entire box of salt into it. Otherwise, everything has been satisfactory. The chicken is always tender with crispy skin and the sides are good too. Our child is a freak for the Mac & cheese and I'm pretty sure most kids would love that for a side for their meal. They have two kinds of tacos. One is a fresh taco that is topped with freshly chopped onions and cilantro. The other is a deep fried taco. The fried ones are supremely greasy and if you like blobs of oil in every other bite, I'd suggest skipping those. Overall, it is what it is. From look of the store it is a very clean location with a very nice staff that greets you when you walk in. I got the nachos, burrito and the chips and queso and everything tasted very good 10/10. They gave 8 pieces of shrimp (cooked & seasoned well (not salty) but on the smaller side) and half a small avocado. The Spanish rice didn't have much flavor, but it was cooked perfectly and not dry like some places. Pretty good, but pretty pricey! $8.89 for shrimp salad and $2 for a small rice. Total was $11.78. Too much for fast food! I like that they have healthy options though since I track my macros. It's been awhile, but I remember the chicken was good. It was quite busy on a Tuesday at noon. I counted about 10 tables dining in. There was only 1 cashier, but he was quick and very friendly. Yup. Just one star for this El Pollo Loco. The best part about this El Pollo was probably the cashier, and even she was like 'meh' tbh. This location just doesn't have their things together at all. Here are my issues: First, I had to break it down for the cashier and show her the cheapest method to get exactly what I wanted. Second, my food took incredibly long to be prepared. I mean, come on! The chicken is already cooked, I can see it from across the room. Just cut me two breasts and a wing and scoop up some Mac & Cheese and Potatoes. Which BTW!!! They were stingy af with the portions. But yeah, I waited a good 20 minutes. Third, food was cold. All of it. Best way to piss me off is to have me wait an eternity to get my food only to have it served cold. I still ate that shit but I wasn't happy. Last and foremost, one of the employees was spraying toxic cleaning product on the grill. Yes, he was cleaning the grill but it was far too close to the food to be doing something like that. Very dangerous. Honestly, everyone here seems very clueless. I've been here at least 5 times. The food is always good and fresh The only problem I do not like is the cleanliness of this place. I don't think management takes cleanliness seriously enough. For example. The condiment bar was a mess. Lids everywhere. Condiments splattered everywhere The front door hand hand prints all over it. A spill occurred wasn't cleaned up good The restroom for being less than 6 months open was dirty. Seems like whoever cleans the restroom does a half ass job on cleaning it.
