This place consistently fails me when ordering through Uber Eats. They ALWAYS miss notes, they give me 2 little tiny containers of salsa for a 16 piece meal. For $20/hr they can't even give you corn tortillas you can use! HUGE delivery fee which honestly isn't worth it. If you decide to order and eat at the restaurant, I'm sure they will make sure your order is correct. If you order from a delivery app, they seriously do not care whatsoever and will ultimately ruin your order. Not once have they ever given me the correct amount of salsa for a 16 piece order. We ordered a 12 piece meal. Got home to find only an 8 piece. We are our food which we thoroughly enjoy their chicken. Their Mac n cheese is decent. Overall their food in my opinion is much better than than the competition and it's less greasy with more taste. The chicken is also lender and juicy. Called the location to let them know what happened and they told me to come back and they will rectify it. Went back 2 days later and they apologized for the inconvenience and gave me a fresh order of chicken. Great customer service m. my history with El Pollo Loco was until this time very good but only experienced their barbequed chicken and side dishes which have always been great. never ordered prepared items like tacos and burritos before. ordered two tacos on a monday night for regular price (not a TACO tuesday two for deal) for a friend and they were okay but greasy. ordered a double chicken cesar salad for myself and it was fresh and good but seemed short on chicken for a double chicken salad. ordered a shredded chicken burrito for a guest and it had big voids and was not tight packed. when they unwrapped it , the whole thing was almost all beans and hardly any shredded chicken or other usual burrito fillings. this may have been a one time burrito build so will revisit. Next visit will probably get barbequed chicken as usual and may revisit the tacos and burrito just to get another sample. adios! read more

I was driving home from an appointment with a family member who said "El Pollo Loco, oooooh I always wanted one of their salads" and I said "I didn't even know El Pollo Loco was in the North Bay, let's go" Walking in during not just a pandemic but now also Monkey Pox increasing it was great to see this place so clean, will a filled hand sanitizing station which was touchless (not many people were using it; but we did) and the entire staff had masks on, hair pulled back and covered, as well as wearing disposable gloves!!! We both ordered salads and I got chips and guacamole as well. The salads were fresh, and the salsa was delightful, the service was impeccable and a bonus, the air flow!!! They had the air conditioner on, and it was strong so I felt very comfortable eating inside (no stale, hot, stagnant air) I did notice that the staff came out and wiped tables as soon as customers left which made me feel as if they're really taking the public health problems going on seriously. I wish I could give them an extra star for the wonderful service Yamiletth (sp) and the team gave to everyone there that afternoon. Super sweet ladies working there today when I went. Delicious and super fresh food. I didn't want to cook and go shopping and it would have cost around the same probably. Great service yummy food and even the drinks taste fresh and clean like they clean the ice machine well. Super great. I'm very happy My only advice would be maybe be more generous with the avocado. But the sauces were amazing and everything was so good. They also gave me extra sauces and loaded me up with everything I needed including napkins and forks. This is my go to for a taco salad. I always get the double chicken and avocado protein bowl. It is awesome, lots of chicken, street corn, tomatoes, avocado, pico salsa tomatoes and an avocado cilantro dressing that tops it off. They are reasonably priced even with todays prices. A huge salad only cost me a little over 12.00 so to me that is fair for lunch. I have never had a disappointing meal there, the ingredients are fresh and tasty. read more

Ok, I'm done with El Pollo Loco. They have screwed me for the last time. I complained to corporate to see if I'd get a response but they don't care. My last trip was for an 8 piece with a salad and two large mashed potatoes. I ordered it to be ready an hour in advance. I arrive and it isn't ready. I had to wait an additional 10 minutes. I ordered 2 extra cilantro dressings for the salad (so there should have been a total of 3). I see them putting in 2 dressings. Oh great, my two extras that I ordered. They gave me my order and I saw I was missing a gravy for one of the potatoes. "Would you like another gravy?" Well yes I would. It was supposed to be in there. So I get home and find that there are only the 2 cilantro dressings, not the 3 I should have had. Screwed out of 50 cents I paid for one of the extras. The portion and quality have gone down and as much as I know most struggled during the pandemic. I think they have already lost. This is no competition for the mom and pop local options. I think I've gotta give up on this El Pollo Loco and maybe El Pollo Loco in general. I decided to try a couple of "polloless pollo" (chickenless chicken) tacos and they were the worst. I ordered without cilantro and without lettuce, just the "veggie pollo" and the cheese. What they don't tell you is that there is some weird sauce on the veggie meat and that sauce is loaded with ONIONS! The menu lists the ingredients, but it doesn't list those ingredients, which make it inedible. I'm a vegetarian, but I hate onions with a passion, always have. To me, it's unfair to the consumer to make a taco and not list what's in it! I also got a small side of pinto beans and a small side of mashed potatoes. The pinto beans had so many hot peppers floating in them, that I took one bite and got instant heartburn. I'm pretty sure if we took them to a lab for testing, they would rate at the top of the Scoville Scale for spicy hot foods. I never understood why the pinto beans have to be so spicy hot that they practically burn your throat out. Other Mexican places serve normal beans, why can't El Pollo Loco do that?! Also the beans I got were the dregs. The liquid was like an inch down from the top of the cup, there were literally a ton of CHOPPED PEPPERS, and there were only like 10 or 15 pinto beans in a sea of liquid and hot peppers. They were HORRIBLE, truly. The mashed potatoes looked and tasted like the dregs of a big batch at the end of the night. It was probably exactly that. With the shelter in place, this was open for takeout. I got the spicy shrimp taco. It was wrapped in foil. When I got home, the corn tortilla was falling apart. They could have used 2 corn tortillas like many local Mexican eateries. The taco wasn't very large (see my picture of the half not eaten). Fillings were sparse and could have used more slaw. There were 4 shrimp and they were "ok". I wouldn't call this taco visually full as it looks in the El Pollo Loco stock photo. If you're looking for a soft taco, go to one of the local Mexican taquerias. You'll get a fresher, tastier soft taco with better and fuller fillings. read more

First time here, stopped on a whim while in the area running errands. Used the drive through which was wide and clean. I carefully read the item descriptions because I'm diabetic and ordered the chicken avocado burrito and a drink. I chose this burrito because the description did not mention rice which is really bad for my diabetes. However what I ended up with was a rice-a-polooza. I was far away by the time I ate, so nothing to do about it. We used to eat El Pollo Loco down south all the time when I didn't want to cook. I was glad to see one came up here. I was getting tired of fried or roasted chicken. I can eat roasted chicken. I love it but variety is good. The chicken at El Pollo Loco is good because it's grilled and marinated in lime, etc. I see they have added more things and that is disappointing. It takes away from their expertise of their chicken. I don't always agree with customers who want a burrito or tostada, or other Mexican dishes. You should go to a Mexican restaurant when you want to eat that. I see these negative comments about the food and I'm saddened that El Pollo Loco's management trying to do too many things. Management should look at In-and-Out Burgers policy - hamburgers only and using good quality ingredients. Customers are not always correct. As for service, the fast food type of business is always hit or miss service. Again, management has a lot to do with it. If you get good management who understands service and workers, it will always show in the service from the workers. I feel in the restaurant business, it takes some time to straighten out the kinks. If the kinks stay kinked, then it's time to find another place to eat. As I get older, I have become more tolerant, patient, and less judgmental. El Pollo Loco is a welcomed spot in this area where healthy affordable eats are a bit short in supply. As with most EPL locations, inconsistency can sometimes be an issue and that usually surrounds the quality of the chicken. Most times - I would say 90% of the time - it is juicy and delicious, but every now and then you get a breast that is a bit on the dry side. Great selection of sides - both healthy and otherwise - for anyone to find something they like. With all of the high-quality taquerias in town, I wouldn't come here just for the tacos and burritos, but they are not bad. Salsa bar is very good. Don't forget the awesome Jalapeño Salsa in the ketchup-style packs on the counter! To address the few negative reviews about the service at this location, I have noticed some of the younger staff are a little rough around the edges. Never rude or mean, always friendly, just inexperienced. To be fair to this location, the reviews I saw complaining about the service were posted within the first couple weeks of the grand opening when it was busier than normal and things were still getting sorted out.
