I placed an online order for inside pick-up at 8:00 pm on10/22, I arrived to find the restaurant doors closed with a handwritten sign that said, "Lobby closed, drive-thru only." The drive-thru line being very long I called the restaurant seeing if they could do curbside pick-up, the girl who answered the phone told me they were short staffed and closed the doors as a result. I was told it would still be just as fast getting my food that was already done (probably by now getting cold), in the now even longer line. We went through the drive-thru on Wednesday night get up to the window no chicken except for legs and thighs so we compromised and we got some salads and four shrimp tacos the shrimp was so hard it was almost brittle you could not even chew it it had been cooked at least two or three days it was the worst thing I have ever had there. And why would they be out of chicken at 5:30 on a Wednesday night? Someone needs to do some serious checking into this management at that establishment. This is the closest one to me so it's the one I normally go too, but maybe I should be done. This place kills me. You pay extra for everything and I can't even begin to tell you how many times stuff is missing. I came on Feb 4 and ordered dinner. Of course I didn't check, my bad, but stuff was missing. Of course it had to be my food. Anyways, I called and talked to the manager on duty and she told me to come back within the next 2 weeks and they would replace my meal. She took my info, including my receipt info, so I threw it away. Today I went back for my food and of course they couldn't find my info and didn't know what I was talking about. We went and got the $25 family meal with 12 piece chicken yesterday. The chicken was almost okay. We asked for extra crispy and it was not at all. The rice was undercooked and bland. The biggest joke of that meal was the citrus avocado salad. Feel free to check out the picture I uploaded. It looked like the staff gave us the remains of a bag of salad with 3 slices of avocado and a few orange segments. After a disappointing meal I have to say the churros were slightly redeeming. Went here on Monday. First time at this restaurant or the area Picked up my family meal restaurant was clean. Well stocked lady running the show was Maggie she was prompt and very courteous. Made sure she repeated my order back. Plenty of of sauces for my sides cutlery and napkins didn't need to ask. This is usually my go-to El Pollo Loco in the area between the two locations in Temecula. They are very prompt when going through the drive thru. And I've never had an issue food quality wise. The reason for the low rating is because I placed an order through their app for pickup and when my husband went to pick it up he had to wait longer than several people who ordered after he arrived. According to the app I placed my order at 7:37pm and he didn't receive his food until 8:15pm. I thought by ordering ahead it would've saved time by just walking in and walking out. I made an online order over their phone app process and I figured I had about 10-15 min to spare so I took my time to get to this location. When I got there the food was still not ready. The cashier assured me that they are still working on it and that it will out soon. Unfortunately, this was not the case, 5 families that ordered all got their food ahead of me. This is my go to spot if all else fails. When in doubt, go to El Pollo Loco. Not too far away from my house, whenever the struggle gets real and there's a rumbly in my tummy this is the spot that meets my hunger needs. I get the same thing every time I go. Am I the only person who does this? You can't go wrong with the cheese quesadilla, a side order of small mac and cheese and small side order of mashed potatoes and gravy. It hasn't let me down thus far which is the reason I'm giving them 5 stars. I don't usually eat fast food but when I do, I prefer el pollo loco. Stay hungry my friends. The so called manager Rueben has a real attitude with NO customer service skills at all! Their only saving grace is their cilantro Caesar dressing. I never used to have a problem with this location, but lately their drive-thru service has completely sucked. For years we never tried El Pollo Loco because we don't like eating Chicken off the bone (call us weird). Then we got a coupon for Nachos and thought we'd try it...wow, we got hooked. The Nachos were great, the rolled/Grilled Chicken burrito was great and this location was so nice and friendly. Then on one of our visits they told us they stopped selling Nachos. No more refried beans, no more cheese sauce. So, we have not been back. But, if you like El Pollo Loco Chicken this is a nice new location. read more
