The tamale was one of the best that I've had in Indy. The chicken was moist with a lot of great spices. The tamale came wrapped in a banana leaf! I also had a Shrimp Taco. The shrimp was perfectly cooked with a great mix of spices. My husband really liked his steak taco. Sauces are available. I liked the verde sauce. The pickle onions are very HOT - beware! The carne asada tacos and quesabirria tacos are my go-to items from Mota. The carne asada can be ordered individually, but quesabirria tacos are ordered in a set of 3. If you are ordering in person, ask if they have tamales. Both the red and green tamales are fantastic. The chips with queso is also very good. This is for sure in my top 3 Mexican options in Indy and we order there at least once per month. The tacos were delicious, very flavorful. The corn was pretty good, but I felt it was a tad too strong. It was still on the much better end of esquites that I had before. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could! I don't know how I didn't notice this place open about a month ago since I drive past it everyday on the way to work. There is a small lobby with some bar seating if you want to eat indoors. You can order at the counter and wait or you can order ahead of time online or by phone and pick it up. I went with the nachos since that is what my coworker recommended. I added steak as well. The aforementioned sturdy chips held up perfectly to all the cheese, guac, and steak. Everything was delicious and it was a lot of nachos for the price. My brother had a steak burrito and was so impressed with how it was layered and wrapped. It didn't fall apart and it was super full of beans filler. The salsas that come on the side were so good. The green was my favorite, it was tangy and spicy. The red definitely had a kick of garlic. The horchata was delicious. Do yourself a favor and just order the large. I'm so excited to finally have a new lunch option by work and even more excited that it's delicious and affordable. From Left to right, the 1st is a Salsa Verde (assuming tomatillos) Sometimes that can taste tangy due to an imbalance of ingredients but theirs was on point. Not very spicy. The Red salsa is deep chili flavor, no acidity, also not very spicy. The last 1 is a creamy green salsa with a kick. Loved them all.
