Took some friends out for lunch. They love Mexican food, so we decided to give the place a try. We walked in and saw large banners hanging from the ceiling over the L-shaped food counters. Colorful photos of drinks with straws, fruity and creamy popsicles, and a few Mexican dishes with labels in Spanish and English. If you're tall, like 4 of the 5 adults in our crew, you'll need to dip down to find the menu boards. They're on the back wall somewhat hidden, written in Spanish and English, although not necessarily for translation purposes. You won't find descriptions of the dishes, so if the most Mexican you know is Yo quiero Taco Bell, you might struggle. The employee taking our order understood only very basic English, and we were struggling with what to order, being unfamiliar with most of the dishes on the board. Four of us got our food with minimal wait time. The fifth guest, who ordered nachos, had to wait 10-15 more minutes for her dish to arrive. Those naughty nachos had no shame, flaunting themselves in a hot and heavy ooze of cheese, feigning modesty with shreds of steaming shredded chicken that we all knew failed to cover those naughty parts. And the crunch, and the drips. It went on and on, right in front of me! Finally, practically gasping for breath, holding the last big tortilla chip, a sated guest scooped up the detritus of chicken, crumbs, and fixings, took her last bite, then sat back and smiled. The ones who ordered burritos and quesadillas were pleased with their meals, as well, although there were no faint echos of Barry White or Etta James crooning and mooning over the meals. The horchata beverage one of them enjoyed did bring a little Chris Isaak's Wicked Game to the table. And then there was my dish, the shrimp tostadas. With the weather outside so frightfully cold, I wanted a warm dish. Instead, I got very cold chopped shrimp with avocado, lime and cilantro on a crisp corn tortilla. It was served with a smooth salsa that was too spicy for me, although the flavor was lovely. It just didn't work for me. And that Jamaica fruit water? It tasted like a combination of pomegranate, cranberry, and maybe grape juices--very strong and too sweet. So I was 0 for 2. It was worth a try. I'm giving it a 3 for quality of food and customer service.

    Very clean inside!

It's like a secret. The location is a bit difficult to see from the road and you have to turn at the car wash and go behind it. The menu is simple, tacos tortas, quesadillas, chips, a few other items Staff was friendly and happy to help us through the menu. We had 3 tacos (chorizo, al pastor, and asada), a quesadilla for my son, and some of the fancy flavored water (cucumber-pineapple). Everything was delicious. The tacos were not piping hot, but they were packed with flavor and came with lime wedges and a hot sauce that had more kick than usual. Fresh ingredients, delicious corn tortillas, and fabulous meats made these tacos worth coming back for!! Then on to dessert. There are a seemingly endless variety of ice cream pops, but they also make sundaes and other treats. The value is high here, the place is clean, and the food is great! I look forward to my next visit.

Asada tacos are the bomb! Super fresh and filling! The melon agua was so refreshing

I do not care if employees wear masks, as that does not dictate how good the food is. For reference, I spend one day a week trying new places. This was this weeks choice. I got a coupon in the mail for $5 off of $25. Brought my parents who typically don't eat at dives like this. We had a carne asada quesadilla with fries, six carne asada tacos, esquites, and churros. Everything was amazing. Taco sauces were very spicy, which I love. Churros were stuffed with leche and freshly made. Esquites (elotes I know them) were amazing! Quesadilla was cheesy as could be. I will be back.

Nicely done. Don't let the small atmosphere of the inside fool you. The food if very good despite being a small restaurant. I got 4 carne asada tacos. They were really good with the Jamaica drink. I've never had something as such. The tacos were really good despite the onions. She did ask about them, but I did not assume the amount of onions they put on the tacos. Now I know to say light onions! You can't go wrong with carne asada (corn tortilla) tacos. They are to die for especially with lime. The drink was good also. It reminded me of the snow cones we would get as a child with not enough juice! This juice needs to be added! Well done.

Came across this little Mexican ice cream place, which I'd noticed a few weeks ago. I'm pretty sure they repurposed an old Rax or Arbys restaurant into a hidden gem of an ice cream parlor! They have pretty much every flavor of the rainbow you can imagine in popsicles. I've even to other cities where the popsicle trend has really taken off, but for some reason it hasn't really launched in St Louis yet. Which flavors were they? Unknown. This place is so new they don't even have the ice cream/ popsicle menu created yet, however they will be happy to tell you what is what as you go down the line! I'm pleased to report their ice cream is top notch, I had a "Mexican Twinkie" ice cream that was rich, chocolatey, creamy and had cake bits swirled in. My son had cookies n cream, which I believe had a hint of coconut mixed into the vanilla and cookie confection. My wife had the raspberry popsicle, which had sweet inner core of the raspberry filling surrounded by vanilla cream. She added it had a taste akin to cheesecake. They also offer a small menu of tacos, nachos, quesadillas and drinks. We will be back again soon!

D E L I C I O U S! Not only do they have handmade popsicles over 40 flavors they also sell authentic Mexican food!! Reminds me of my family's cooking which is nostalgic now that I live in STL. Since discovering this new spot, we've eaten here twice within a week & cannot wait to go back!!

Food is excellent! The place was very clean inside. It was my first time here and it feel authentic!

Indoors was clean and spacious for distanced seating

Amazing food, and a huge selection of popsicles! We haven't been disappointed. We will definitely be coming back often. They have food from tacos, tortas, quesadillas, and much more. I haven't tried their fresh aguas frescas but I heard they're great.

Large variety of popsicles and treats. Staff all wore masks and the cashier was very friendly. The food was really good, the hot sauce was spicy and really delicious and the prices were great. It's right off of a roundabout tucked away but worth driving to.

However, an incident happened recently that has now complicated my love for them. I ordered two burritos for delivery recently and one ended up being wrong. It was supposed to be a Burrito Americano with shredded chicken, something I've had before. What came had ground beef and no red sauce, so I figured it was an entirely different burrito and called to let them know mine might have been swapped with someone else's. I understood that there was a good chance it wasn't getting replaced because I couldn't drive up to get another one, and yes that ended up being the case, but what got me was the guy on the phone said "oh sorry, on our tablets where we receive orders, we couldn't see that you made a meat selection so we just chose one." I confirmed that wasn't the case on my end. So one, that's crazy. Two, we've ordered from them before and that hasn't been a problem. Three, if that's true, how am I supposed to trust that I'll ever get what I ordered? So I don't know if they're not taking responsibility for their mix up for if they have a new system that's going to cause a lot of issues. But either way, I'm not thrilled and I'm probably done with them.

It is a bit of a drive for us and I don't see a return visit in the future. Ms T ordered a quesadilla with chicken. The tortilla was dry. The cheese and chicken were skimpy, coming nowhere near the edge of the tortilla and the chicken was just cooked chicken with no seasoning, no salt. My huevos rancheros came with the strangest salsa on them. They were served with a tortilla underneath, which is as they should be, but the sauce was almost clear, like broth thickened with cornstarch. It had a bit of tomato, but no chile and no seasonings. It was what I call wallpaper paste for anyone old enough to know what that is. The refritos and rice were fine, not remarkable. The guacamole was decent, not an onion bomb. I also ordered a side of carnitas, which would have been good had they not been served at room temperature. I asked for corn tortillas and received more of the dry flour tortillas that Ms T had for her quesadilla. The salsa served with the complimentary totopos was the best thing of the meal but that does not warrant a return visit.
