I love this salon. I've been coming to El Rincon since 2005. I've gotten my hair done by Roberto, Gilberto, and several others who don't work there anymore, and they all have done a wonderful job on my hair. However, I highly recommend Roberto. He has been my main hair stylist for the past 3 years now, and he never disappoints. Every where I go, I get compliments from strangers on my hair. As for the pricing, it always depends on the type of hair you have. The thicker the hair, the more money you'll have to pay. I usually spend about $120 on my "peek-a-boos", and I have long, thick hair. When I get my touch ups, I usually spend about $40. Overall, the price is a little high, but worth it! They will not only dye your hair, but they'll shampoo, condition, trim, and style (blow dry, curl, and/or straighten) your hair after. FYI, El Rincon is mainly a Spanish salon, but most stylist, including Roberto, speak English. read more

This placed is awful! I came here when I needed to get my hair done asap, and I came out really disappointed! all I asked was to get a few blonde high lights and I came out looking like a skunk! Got my hair done here about I want to say almost a year ago by Gaby. I've came to this place with my sisters because they get their hair done by the guys there. Gaby seemed like she was too good to work on anyone else but her regulars. Me and my sister booked a date and I got stuck with her. She was always picking up her personal phone calls never interacted with me to have a conversation. I was with her for I wanna say a good five hours. Now that I am in beauty school she did not give me a great consultation that every girl should deserve once they sit in that chair. Even though with that; she did not give me what I asked. When leaving I gave her a tip they came at me with a "oh here's my business card", a client should always be asked if they would like to rebook to touch up, but nope! never again will I return to her or the salon. read more

Shes cool, nice gal, was gentle on my hair, no harsh tug and pull, listened when i mentioned about how short i wanted my hair cut ( us latinas are very picky in length! cuz we love our long hair!) HOWEVER she did not listen when i told her i wanted VOLUME! not jersey shore volume, just a nice umpf! she blowed dryed my hair flatter than flat can go! i understand stylist are not being on volume but I WANTED VOLUME and told her repeatedly to puff it up a bit and nada! This salon is amazing!! I can literally give them an idea of what I am looking for, take a nap, and wake up completely satisfied. I never leave without a smile on my face and bounce in my step. I would recommend El Ricon to everybody. I actually visited them my first time through a high recommendation. A long time ago I was frustrated that I couldn't find a stylist who could cut or dye my hair the way I wanted it. So I turned to my friend who always had stylish beautiful hair. She told me to stop wasting my money and go to El Ricon. Finally I did. I was a little nervous at first because I don't speak Spanish, but OMG after a few minutes he assured me that he knew what I was asking for and began styling. My hair came out AWSOME!!! It was exactly what I asked for and better!! The service was great!! That was a little over 9 years ago and I refuse to go anywhere else. Put it this way, I moved to Sacramento for a little while and tried a girl out there, I was sooooo upset I almost cried in the chair and imagined myself cutting off all of her over processed blond hair to get her back for what she did to my chair. I stormed out of that salon and drove all the way down to San Jose and had my hair fixed at El Ricon. I lived in Sac for 2 years and in those 2 years I drove down once or twice a month just to get my hair done. I have also experienced being able to sit at any of their stations and be completely satisfied. Recently I recommended my nephew who now only gets his fohauk done here as well. I went in today for a consultation because I have a job interview schedule. I wanted to a professional appearence. Gabby was great. She took the time to listen to my concerns and made her recommendation. My hair was in need of a cut and color, but I didn't want to lose my length. My hair was down to my bra band and she only cut off an inch that we had discussed. I came in with black hair and burn blonde highlight and I came out a warm brunett. I asked for a refund, they said yes but it did not happen. Keep the money. Don't go there they are too expensive for their substandard poor service. Love this salon...I have been going for over three years and completely trust anything my stylist does to my hair. Most of the shop primarily speaks Spanish, but even with my very little known Spanish he does a great job. Gilberto is amazing and I look forward to what color and style he will do next. He is the only one I trust to do my hair and will follow him anywhere. Gabriella is also great and is bilingual, I have seen her do such a variety of styles from Mohawks to curls...Eric is also really good and makes your hair come out beautiful.
